Quick Facts About The Antelope Inn
The Antelope Inn has received mostly positive comments, indicating several strengths that make it an appealing place to visit. One of the main strengths mentioned is the excellent early doors offer of three pints for £7. This is a great deal for customers, as it offers good value for money and provides an enticing incentive to visit the pub.
Another significant strength highlighted by multiple comments is the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the staff. The host, Natasha, is specifically mentioned for her friendliness and niceness. Emma, the landlady, is also praised for being welcoming. Friendly and attentive staff can greatly enhance the overall experience for customers, making them feel comfortable and valued.
The food at The Antelope Inn is repeatedly praised in the comments. The portions are described as generous, with one customer even stating that they could have shared their meal with their partner. The quality of the food is consistently commended, with compliments given to the lamb skewers cooked to perfection. Customers also appreciate the value for money they receive, as the prices are reasonable and the food is described as good and extremely good value for money.
The drink selection is mentioned positively as well, with comments about the great selection of draught beers and well-kept real ales. The ability to accept contactless payments is also seen as a positive feature, as it provides convenience for customers who prefer this method of payment.
The peaceful and quiet nature of the pub is appreciated by some customers. They enjoy the tranquility and find it to be an ideal place for a peaceful pint or a quiet stay. This suggests that The Antelope Inn may be popular among those who prefer a more relaxed and serene atmosphere.
However, there are also a few weaknesses mentioned that should be addressed. One customer reports feeling sick and having a heavy stomach after eating at the pub. They describe the food as oily and greasy. This feedback indicates that there may be some inconsistency in the quality of the food preparation and that improvements could be made in terms of portion control and the use of excessive oil and grease.
Additionally, one comment mentions that the pub was very busy and that there was a wait time. While this may not be a major issue for some, it is worth considering how to manage peak times efficiently to minimize waiting times and ensure a smooth experience for all customers.
In conclusion, The Antelope Inn has several strengths that contribute to its appeal, including an excellent early doors offer, a warm and welcoming atmosphere created by friendly staff, great food and drink selection, and a peaceful and quiet ambiance. However, improvements could be made in terms of food quality and portion control to enhance the overall dining experience. Additionally, managing peak times more efficiently to minimize wait times would benefit the pub. Overall, The Antelope Inn appears to be a popular choice, especially for those seeking a tranquil and friendly environment.

Excellent early doors offer + 3 pints for £7
Me and my wife stayed here for 2.nights whilst the summer solstice was on. What a lovely welcoming quiet and peaceful hotel. The host, Natasha was so nice and friendly. Our room was set to the side of the pub, no stairs, which was a bonus for me as I'm recovering from spinal surgery. A huge comfortable bed and wonderful bathroom with a double bathand a very large and easy accessible shower cubicle. We had our evening meal and was surprised by the portions, 2large skewers of lamb cooked to perfection with salad, a flatbread and sauce. I ordered a side of chips as I didn't expect a portion of meat the size it was, honestly if my wife would eat lamb we could quite easily have shared the meal and would have been happy with it. Great selection of draught beers and the real ales, which I don't usually drink was very well kept, think I'm convered. Onto breakfast, a full English was served and it was presented beautifully. No grease swimming around the plate. Also white and brown bread for toast which you help yourself to. There's also cereal and juice. Tea or coffee which is also limitless. I can't thank Natasha enough and without doubt we will be returning. If you like hustle and bustle and rowdy bars then this is not for you but if you want peace it's the ideal stay. Everyone is so friendly in the village and stol to day hello and wish you you well for your day. Once again Natash, thank you and see you next solstice.
Nice friendly little pub, Emma the land lady is very welcoming. Great beer, good atmosphere.
Great food, lovely staff will definitely be coming here again
After trying two other dineries we eventually found the Antelope. Prices of drink were very reasonable and the food was very good and extremely good value for money. The pub was very busy and we did have to wait a bit but the surroundings were pleasant. Well worth a return visit if I should be in the area again.
A quiet pub for quiet pint.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Me and my boyfriend went to this pub for breakfast and seemed fine but after finishing our meals, our stomachs felt very heavy and even we felt sick. Some of the ingredience were fine and even edible. However all meal in general so oily and greecy. After that, I could not eat for whole day as felt sick. So we careful before order food at this place. Very disappointed.
Great little pub, accepts contactless payments.
