Quick Facts About The Cosh Bar

The Cosh Bar has several strengths that make it a popular choice among customers. Firstly, it is praised for its excellent food quality. Customers mention that the fish was delicious and that the menu created by the food manager was a good mixture of everything anyone could want. The portions are also reported to be great-sized, satisfying customers' appetites.
Another strength of The Cosh Bar is the friendly and attentive staff. Customers compliment the service they received, mentioning the quick and efficient service. The staff is also described as very friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers. This positive interaction with the staff contributes to the overall positive experience at the restaurant.
The atmosphere at The Cosh Bar is highly regarded. The pub atmosphere in the downstairs restaurant creates a lively and enjoyable dining experience. Customers mention that there was live music on the night they visited, enhancing the overall ambiance. Upstairs, there was a large room with a great dance floor, creating a party-like atmosphere. The combination of a lively pub atmosphere and live music adds to the overall experience at The Cosh Bar.
Additionally, The Cosh Bar is known for its large bar, making it a popular destination for parties and events. The comment mentions that it was a party during the visit, indicating that the establishment can accommodate large groups and cater to special occasions. This versatility in hosting events is a strength for those looking for a venue for celebrations or gatherings.
However, The Cosh Bar also has some weaknesses that customers have pointed out. One recurring complaint is the wait time for food. Some customers mention waiting over an hour for their food to arrive, which is a significant downside, especially for those who had booked tables specifically to avoid delays. This can be frustrating and may deter customers from returning to the restaurant.
Another weakness mentioned by customers is the inconsistency in food quality. While some praised the food, others had negative experiences, stating that their dishes were overcooked or tasteless. This inconsistency raises concerns about the restaurant's attention to detail and the overall culinary experience.
Furthermore, there were comments about the poor management and lack of organization. Some customers mention that their table wasn't ready upon arrival, resulting in them having to stand at the bar. There are also complaints about people being served who hadn't booked tables, which adds to the perception of a disorganized and poorly managed establishment.
Another weakness raised by a customer is the lack of adherence to COVID-19 measures. The comment mentions that the staff did not wear masks properly, and there was a lack of hand sanitizer on the tables. This raises concerns about the restaurant's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its customers during the pandemic.
In conclusion, The Cosh Bar has several strengths, including excellent food quality, friendly and attentive staff, a lively atmosphere with live music, and a large bar for parties and events. However, there are weaknesses in terms of wait times, inconsistency in food quality, poor management, and a lack of adherence to COVID-19 measures. These weaknesses need to be addressed to ensure a consistent and enjoyable dining experience for all customers.

Sehr gutes Restaurant am Rand von Londonderry. Nette und schnelle Bedienung.
Pub atmosphere in downstairs restaurant, fish was delicious. Live music night we were there. Upstairs was the day 2 of wedding, room was large, great dance floor. Huge bar it was a party !
We had a team lunch here and I cannot fault The Cosh in any way. Marty the food manager created a special set menu just for us which was a nice touch (party of 35+), and the menu he created was a good mixture of everything anyone could want. The food arrived quickly, was really tasty and great sized portions. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back. Everyone in team complimented the food and staff. Thank you so much everyone involved!
Booked a table over a week ago.On arrival at 7.30 the table wasn’t ready so had to stand at the bar. Finally when seated ordered food for four at 7.55pm.After 40 minutes the waitress came and asked us did we want more drinks even though we still had no food. No sign of the food until 8.40. The food arrived but had to reorder the sides. The food wasn’t great but the fact of waiting over an hour for food and seating put us off. I would see through it but the table had been booked to avoid delay.People were being served everywhere. who hadn’t booked tables. Can’t say we enjoyed it but certainly won’t be back. Not the staff ‘s fault but poor management.
Booked table for 8pm. Didn't get seated until 815pm, food took forever to arrive and my chicken looked like it was cooked with a flamethrower and was covered in what can only be described as a mountain of tobacco onions which were tasteless, the side of garlic potatoes were also over cooked and almost lost a tooth biting into one, everyone who ordered mash had freezing cold mash, and the cheesecakes tasted like it came out of Iceland. "Also tasteless " ... a bad experience and I've had stomach pains all night upon returning.. safe to say I will never be back here ever again. Zero stars. Bloody nerve serving this garbage at the prices we got charged.
Fantastic food Fantastic value and fantastic staff well worth a visit ill definitely be back well done
The Cosh Bar and Grill is basically on the border of Counties Derry and Donegal, on the main Derry to Letterkenny or Burncrana roads. Decorated in the style of a traditional Irish pub, it serves a hot food menu which, though having many options, has predominantly spicy flavoured dishes, which will not suit everyone. It can be a busy, lively bar with TV screens visible in almost any seating position and sport, particularly soccer, features strongly. There is also a quieter snug. The food at The Cosh is usually good as is the service and value for money. On our visit, Covid measures were NOT well enforced and only one staff member wore a mask with some wearing masks under their chin. No hand sanitizer on tables either.
Great menu,taste and value
Went out as party of five adults,All had starters and main course .great variety and lovely ambience. Will definitely be back again
