Quick Facts About The Chippy.

The Chippy, based on the comments provided, has a number of strengths and weaknesses.
One of the strengths mentioned is the convenience of parking nearby. This makes it easier for customers to visit the restaurant, especially if they are in a hurry or have limited time. Additionally, the friendly staff mentioned in the comments are another positive aspect of The Chippy. Friendly staff can create a welcoming and pleasant dining experience for customers.
Another strength of The Chippy is the hot and plentiful food. Customers appreciate when their food is served hot, as it indicates freshness and ensures that the meal is enjoyable. The abundance of food also satisfies customers, as they do not have to worry about portion sizes or leaving hungry.
The prices at The Chippy are considered good according to one of the comments. This is a strength for the restaurant, as affordable prices attract customers, especially those on a budget. However, one comment mentions that they only accept cash, which can be inconvenient for customers who do not carry cash or prefer to pay with a card. This is considered a weakness for The Chippy, as it may deter potential customers or cause inconvenience for existing ones.
Another weakness mentioned is the discrepancy in pricing. One customer felt ripped off when they were charged more for their meal compared to what was advertised in the window. This inconsistency can create a negative impression and lead to dissatisfaction among customers. Additionally, another customer had a negative experience with their order. They received the wrong meal and chose not to return due to the inconvenience. Mistakes in orders can significantly impact customer satisfaction and should be avoided.
The hygiene of the restaurant is also mentioned as a weakness. One customer observed a staff member wiping their nose with their bare hand and then touching the food. This is a major health and safety concern and can lead to food contamination. Such incidents can greatly impact the reputation of the restaurant and discourage customers from returning.
Despite the weaknesses mentioned, The Chippy also has its strengths. One comment states that it is the best place for chips and gravy. This suggests that the quality and taste of the food is highly regarded by at least one customer. Another customer who has had experiences with different chip shops also considers The Chippy to be the best. Positive reviews of the food are important for attracting customers and building a loyal customer base.
In conclusion, The Chippy has several strengths, such as convenience, friendly staff, hot and plentiful food, and affordable prices. However, there are also weaknesses, including the requirement for cash payments, pricing discrepancies, mistakes in orders, and concerns about hygiene. These strengths and weaknesses should be taken into account by potential customers when considering dining at The Chippy.

I like this place for a quick chippy tea. Parking nearby.
Staff are friendly and the food is always hot and plentiful.
Prices are good but they unfortunately only take cash which can be a pain if your calling in on spec, but I suppose its near enough to the cashpoint at Co-op to remedy that...
Went in for the first time and I got a small sausage and chips with gravy and a can of Vimto. I cant believe i was charged £6 for it - won't be back that's for sure.
Went in on Wednesday last week appx 2pm Charged me £6.10p for pudding chips and gravy. Just noticed today online , offer in window says £3. 30. Feel totally ripped off. Especially as I told the lady that the week before I had bought just chips at appx same time and they were dry and not nice
Been here a couple of times since moving to Standish. The previous visits were fine but i Don't think I'll be going back for two reasons. They still use Plastic trays and also the woman who was putting my food order together wiped her nose with her bare hand and then continued to touch my food.
Had never been before but visited twice recently.
Big portions, lovely white tasty fish and friendly staff.
Can't wait to call again.
Excellent.
Was charged almost double . I will be marching back there next available chance and demanding my money back. . Absolutely disgrace . ????????
If you want a chips and Gravy this place is probably the best for it. I havent tried anything else from it as Im working and only have time for something small. But my god. Ive worked in alot of places from Lancaster, to Whitchurch. From BlackPool to Leeds. And I always grab a chippy dinner if I can. This is probably the best.
I rarely go to the chippy but persuaded by family I submitted. We ordered 4 meals, mine being fish, chips & peas. Back home we dished out the meals. The other 3 meals were as ordered. Mine turned into chips, peas & gravy. Because of distance to walk back to the chippy and the downpour I decided not to return to correct the mistake. The peas were fine, the chips were soggy and basically a pile of fried, mushy potatoes. And the gravy? Just left a greasy feel in my mouth.
