Quick Facts About The Beckwood pub
The Beckwood pub has a number of strengths that make it a popular choice for customers. One of the main strengths mentioned in the comments is the friendly and engaging staff. Multiple reviewers mention how welcoming and helpful the waiting and bar staff are. This is a key strength of the pub as excellent customer service can greatly enhance the dining experience.
Another strength highlighted by the comments is the quality and generous portions of food. Customers praise the Sunday carvery, specifically mentioning the generous portions of meat and the delicious sides such as garlic and rosemary roast potatoes and roast carrots and parsnips. The fact that the vegetables are not overcooked and mushy is also appreciated by customers. The positive comments about the food highlight the strength of the pub's culinary offerings.
The gluten-free options available at The Beckwood pub are also seen as a strength. This shows that the pub is attentive to the dietary needs and preferences of its customers, which can attract a wider range of clientele. Additionally, the pub is noted as being disability-friendly and LGBT+ friendly, which further emphasizes its inclusivity and welcoming atmosphere.
The atmosphere of the pub is mentioned positively in a number of comments. Customers enjoy the lively and friendly ambiance, particularly in the bar area. The availability of entertainment options such as a pool table, darts board, and live sports on multiple screens is seen as a strength. These amenities contribute to a fun and enjoyable experience for patrons.
In terms of weaknesses, a few customers mention the need for improved decor and facilities. One comment suggests that the outside appearance of the pub may be off-putting, but the food and staff make up for it. Other customers express that better decor and facilities would elevate the pub to a higher rating and enhance the overall experience. This indicates that the pub may need improvements in its physical appearance to match the quality of its food and service.
There are also a few negative comments regarding the service and food. One customer mentions that the service was rushed and the food took almost two hours to arrive, with the steaks being improperly cooked and the mayo tasting off. Another comment mentions that the bitter selection at the bar is poor and that the pub had run out completely when visited. These comments indicate potential issues with consistency in service and food quality, which may need to be addressed.
Overall, despite a few areas for improvement, The Beckwood pub appears to have several strengths that make it a popular choice for customers. The friendly staff, good quality and generous portions of food, gluten-free options, and inclusive atmosphere contribute to positive customer experiences. However, attention should be given to potential weaknesses such as service consistency and the need for better decor and facilities.

Met by lovely waiting and bar staff, very helpful and engaging. Had a Sunday carvery the server was most pleasant and served generous portions of meat. Garlic and Rosemary crispy roast potatoes, roast carrots and parsnips a choice of vegan/gluten free gravy or, meaty jus to smother your dinner with. Vegetables were al-dente not mush like you would ordinarily find in a carvery.
The decor may be off putting from the outside but the food and staff makes this a 4 star. Improved decor and facilities would make this a 5* experience for a quick family no-nonsense Sunday lunch.

Great food! Amazing staff, very friendly and welcoming.
Edited: me and my family revisited on two occasions since opening inside. We sat down for a meal in the restaurant area and it was lovely, the food was delicious and the timing was perfect, It didnt feel like we waited at all really. Also very well spaced.
The second time I visited was in the bar. Great atmosphere. Pool table, darts board and live sports, up to two channels at a time, 4 small screens and 1 big. The landlord has told me there is 2 more screens in the beer garden, I did not venture out as for the weather conditions.
Highly recommend a visit for yourselves.
Was ok, fairly busy when we went at 1pm but it soon settled down around 2pm.
Service was ok, the girl's behind the bar we're polite enough and obviously rushed at the time we went.
Was expecting a bit more from the food though.
Waited almost 2 hours for food, ordered 2 steaks, one medium and the other medium rare. Both weren't cooked; one was basically frozen. Mayo was also warm so tasted off. Never coming back again.
Recent refurb, friendly staff and reasonably price good quality food. Bitter choice is poor and when we visited they had run out completely. A couple of craft guest bitters would be a good addition at the bar.
