Best TL Reviews

Without a doubt the BEST pub food I have ever tasted (and I have tasted many). The portions are extremely generous. Proper food, none of that packet rubbish. Will be stopping here again on our fortnightly drive through Waltham abbey
Lovely friendly staff and the food was delicious.
The back garden could have done with a tidy up to make it a bit prettier/nicer but it didn't spoil our visit ????
Fantastic British Pub. I ate here for 3 nights during a business trip.
The atmosphere - great 'local' vibe. Very chatty and inclusive clientele.
Bar staff (Kelly) - a great genuine warm welcome. Remembers your drink from the night before. Great conversation, which is key for mental health as I work away a lot, and seldom get to 'talk' to people outside of work.
Food - Amazing home cooked food, from hearty pies to seafood linguine. And I found out that the chef is only 19.
Absolutely amazing food with a good price tag.
Staff are friendly, polite and attentive.
I look forward to visiting again.
What a great surprise. Many, many years ago I stopped here but this is the first time I've eaten there.
Staff were charming and helpful. Food was decent value but I've had better but you can't really get a bad plate of ham, egg and chips. Maybe I'm spoilt by having had the opportunity to eat at many fine dining places but it's a pub so good value for that and it was a great surprise to see so many customers on a Monday lunchtime so late in the year (November).
Well worth a visit if you're in the area and in summertime there is a great view from the back of the pub over east London and The City. Unfortunately at this time of the year the garden isn't open but I know that fact is correct as I've gazed at that view from the church a few metres further up the hill.
I went for Sunday lunch here with my mum and stepdad and can highly recommend it. Service was great : efficient and friendly; food was delicious and portions v. generous (roast comes in small, medium and large. I was wisely advised to go for medium and there was plenty) and the atmosphere was lovely. I will definitely be back again, thanks for a lovely dining experience.
This pub was a pleasant surprise during our hike in Epping. We had a lemon sole and a piri piri chicken which were both delicious. The portions were huge, waiting time not too long and the waitress very friendly. We would come again!
Lovely lunch at the Horseshoes
Wow. Not been before and the food was awesome. Super fresh, succulent and beautifully cooked wing of skate with capers and brown butter. My wife had the Dover sole equally delicous! Excellent service too. Will defo be back!
