The fact that the chips accommodated for all family members was also highlighted, indicating that the establishment caters to a wide range of preferences. Additionally, the fish was not described as greasy, which suggests good cooking practices.
Another strength mentioned by customers is the attentiveness and politeness of the young waiting staff. It is noted that they all wore masks, which is important for the current COVID-19 situation. The fast service and short waiting time, even during busy periods, was also mentioned positively. This indicates that the establishment has efficient processes in place to handle high demand.
Customers also appreciated the location of The Catch Fish & Chips place, being close to the beach. It was mentioned that many people took their food to the beach to enjoy while overlooking the sea. This suggests that the establishment offers a pleasant dining experience in a picturesque setting.
Moving on to the weaknesses, one of the main criticisms was related to the portion sizes and prices. One customer found the small cod to be expensive, especially considering its small size. They also mentioned that the fish seemed to have been kept warm for too long, resulting in a loss of freshness. This highlights a potential issue with portion control and ensuring that the fish is cooked to order and served promptly.
Another customer commented on the stinginess of the establishment when it came to the chips and the excessive batter on the fish. This suggests that there might be inconsistencies in the portion sizes and batter application, leading to an unbalanced and unsatisfactory dining experience for some customers.
A couple of customers expressed disappointment in the value for money, suggesting that the prices were high without a corresponding increase in the quality or portion size of the food.
Lastly, one customer mentioned that although there were many staff members present, not much work seemed to be getting done. This raises concerns about the efficiency and productivity of the establishment, which could impact the speed of service and overall customer satisfaction.
In conclusion, The Catch Fish & Chips place has several strengths, including the quality of the food, attentiveness of the staff, and a convenient location near the beach. Fabulous haddock and chips, one with pea fritter and one with mushy peas, with a curry sauce to share. Chips were crisp and crunchy with a soft centre, haddock was spot on, nice crispy batter and beautiful taste. Young waiting staff were polite and attentive also all wore masks. Thank you.
Food was really tasty. Chips are a mixture of cripsy and soft a fluffy, so accommodates for all the family. The cod wasn't greasy and was really tasty. We also had onions rings which were really nice. We will definitely be coming back again.
Although it was super busy when we arrived, we didn't have to wait for too long and the food was piping hot.
Great chippy!
Very disappointing. Ordered One small cod .£6,70 ( takeaway) and it was small! expensive yes, large cod was £8.90 small chips £2.60 ( price not a problem if the fish is fresh and cooked to order, and the serving size is fair, I Don't know how long it had been kept warm, far too long!
Not recommended.
Better quality fish and cooked to order, and larger portion size expected at those prices.
Better to throw a fish away than keep it warm for long periods and lose a customers that tell others of your poor experience.
Food was wonderful and all staff very helpful, we got our food within a few minutes and it was a fairly large order. Tried a battered creme egg and was way better than I was expecting! Plus watching the fellow behind the till fold the takeaway boxes was mesmerising. Can't really fault it
Friendly staff, fast service & fresh food! One of the best chip shops in the local area. ????????????
Below average, stingy on the chips and the fish festooned with batter to hide its small size.
Lots of staff, not much getting done.
Expensive and disappointing.
Great fish and chips. Soft, fluffy chips that were crispy on the outside, and a nice piece of fish. Portion sizes were just right and I didn’t feel completely stuffed after finishing the meal. We bought our meal and drove around the corner to the cliff top, eating on a bench overlooking the sea. Glorious.
Great service from a busy fish and chip shop. Now visited a couple of times and love the food. Not greasy, cooked perfectly. We will be retuning again in the near future. A bonus being close to the beach, where we and plenty of others took our food too, for an evening dining on the beach. Yum!
