Quick Facts About The Chester

The Chester Place, formerly known as The Last Drop, has received a mix of positive and negative comments from customers. In analyzing these comments, it is possible to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the establishment.
One major weakness that stands out is the issue with rude staff. Multiple customers have complained about encountering some of the rudest staff they have ever encountered. This is a significant problem as customer service plays a crucial role in the success of a business. Rude staff can lead to a negative customer experience, resulting in lost business and negative reviews.
Another weakness highlighted by customers is the lack of a vibrant and inviting atmosphere. Some customers find the decor to be too dark and depressing, which is not conducive to a pleasant evening out. The lack of brightness and color can affect the overall ambiance of the place and may deter potential customers from visiting.
The inconsistency in the quality of food and coffee is also a weakness. Several customers have mentioned that their experiences varied greatly between visits, with some praising the food and coffee while others found them to be average or lacking in flavor. Inconsistent quality can undermine the reputation of a restaurant and make customers hesitant to return.
On a positive note, some customers appreciate the great prices and portion sizes offered at The Chester Place. This can be seen as a strength as it attracts customers looking for value for money. Additionally, the desserts have received positive feedback, indicating that there are certain aspects of the menu that are enjoyed by customers.
The staff at The Chester Place have also been praised for their friendliness and great service. This is a strength as it shows that the establishment has some competent and welcoming staff members. Good service can help create a positive impression and encourage customers to return.
However, it is important to note that despite the positive comments about the staff, their overall performance is overshadowed by the negative experiences with rude staff members. The inconsistency in service quality, as highlighted by the comment about waiting for menus and drinks, also reflects poorly on the establishment.
Another weakness pointed out by customers is the issue with the Guinness. Some customers have mentioned that the bar staff lack the ability to pull a proper pint and that the quality does not justify the high price. This highlights a lack of training and quality control, which can affect customer satisfaction and the overall experience.
Finally, one comment mentioned that The Chester Place was rumored to be a nightclub. Although this comment does not provide a detailed assessment, it does highlight the possibility of confusion regarding The Chester Place's identity and offerings. If the establishment is trying to position itself as a bar or restaurant, the misconception that it is a nightclub could affect its target audience.
In conclusion, The Chester Place has several weaknesses that need to be addressed. The issue of rude staff, inconsistent quality of food and coffee, lack of a vibrant atmosphere, and problems with the Guinness all need to be resolved in order to improve the overall customer experience. On the positive side, the establishment has the potential to offer great service, good prices, and enjoyable desserts. By addressing the weaknesses and building upon the strengths, The Chester Place can work towards becoming a more successful and well-regarded establishment.

Best TL Reviews

Some of the staff here are the rudest I have ever encountered. Visited twice when it was The Last Drop and decided not to return after receiving bad service with a stinking attitude by one girl in particular. After they claimed to be bringing back the ‘good old Chester’ I assumed they might have made some changes to their service but no. Arrived on Friday for a few drinks then we were asked to move to another table as I think they had messed up someone’s table booking. We were moved under a speaker and once the karaoke started it was borderline deafening, I’m all for a good time but people were covering their ears it was that loud. I went to the staff and explained to see if we could be moved elsewhere or the speaker turned down to be told by the doorman ‘Take it up with the dj’ while the servers completely blanked me. Rude and not acceptable. I believe small businesses should be supported, but to treat paying customers like that on several occasions- they deserve a bad review
Staff here are sooo lovely but it's just so dead. I didn't know the "original Chester" so I don't have anything to compare it to but it's my least favourite of all the Antrim Road area pubs because the vibe is just really bleak.
Shown to a dirty table, waited 20 minutes on a menu, waited another 15 minutes on a drink, when meal arrived it was really nice.. pity the service didn’t match the food.. left disappointed and probably won’t be back
Guinness terrible for the price they charge they need to get proper bar staff who are able to pull a proper pint and not kids who haven’t got a clue. Not the kids fault lack of training from management same low standards as the last drop only thing changed is the name how ever nothing like original chester.wont be back
I think it lacks brightness and colour (depressing)! I don't like the dark dark decor - it "looks" very dirty with everything black - doesn't make you feel very happy when out for an evening. The staff are great no issues there and the food was good when we ate there on a couple of occasions.
Great prices and portion sizes. Can’t complain. The desert was great.
I've been twice for food & coffee but the quality of both was inconsistent.
The first time both food & cappuccino were great but on my 2nd visit both were average at best. The menu was different as well & the food I'd gotten on the first visit ( chicken goujons in a southern fried coating) was no longer available. I ordered the replacement chicken goujons but these were lacking in flavour. The prices charged should dictate a less hit & miss nature so on this basis I won't be back in a hurry.
Staff were great though on both occasions which is the reason for my 3* rating.
Just heard the Chester bar was a night club . I will have to check it out on Saturday night. Hard to find a good night club in Belfast these days.
