Amazing atmosphere, great service very attentive and accommodating, food was lovely and filling, a well run pub and we will be returning again. Booking is recommended as was very busy.Thank-you xx
The pub is cute with standard pub grub.
However the rooms are very disappointing. The carpet hadn't been hoovered, the towels were frayed, the whole hot tap turned when you try to use it. The toilet seat wasn't fixed and moved when you sat on it and the pillows were well past their best. Shame, because it could be great, it's in a lovely location.
Lovely family run pub in a gorgeous area.
Situated right by open space means that you can sit outside, set back from the road and let the kids run free. Food is delicious and the staff are great!
Good costumer service but the food was not as described. The “king prawn linguine” that was meant to have king prawns, was bland shrimps with boiled plain linguine. What a terrible and awful food experience. If you value your money and enjoy to eat proper food pub, please avoid this place! I’ve paid £14 for “this”. “This” dish was easily worst than a frozen dish from Iceland. Well, apart from the linguine, the rest was definitely frozen.
Only gets a 2 for the friendly staff.
The beer range was poor, saved only by the rebellion Ipa.
While the burger and chips looked and tasted reasonable, the "fully loaded nachos to share" for £12were anything but that. One small bag of tortillas with some grated cheese on a few of them that had been partially melted together with a few jalapenos from a jar, served with small pots of guacamole, salsa and sour cream. Ptobably the worst I have had in 10 years for half the price.
I was with my brother (Olivier). To be honest, in his review he was still too positive. The food was terrible, even the staff of the pub were obviously embarrassed to serve the food. When they served the food they did not come to our table anymore. Probably afraid of the negative feedback. The picture shows the delicious dish called the Sunday roast. (It was disgraceful). If you go to the pub I wish you the very best of luck and may you recover from the experience. For your own good, avoid this place.
Great outdoors, brillo service. We did not eat here but great place. We pulled up on the river and wandered in, twice. Comfortable, great atmosphere, clean and attractive. Staff sound. Good inside and outside areas. Great. A really good mix of folk all comfortable. Outside is well good, inside is spot on.
A real gem, we visited Cookham on Sunday a little late but they made time to feed us and the service was great. The food was delicious and competitively priced. Inside the pub is bright and comfortable. I don't drink Ale but my friends enjoyed the beer and as Im on a diet it was great to find somewhere with slimline tonic. Right round the corner is a beautiful church and short lane to the river. Our friends we visiting from New York and The Crown and Cookham made their day, thank you.
