Quick Facts About The Great Wall

The Great Wall restaurant receives both positive and negative comments, indicating a mix of strengths and weaknesses. This analysis will explore these aspects to provide a comprehensive understanding of the place.
Starting with strengths, the most significant one is the quality of the food. Customers consistently mention the "amazing food" and how the meals are "fit for a king." This indicates that the restaurant takes pride in offering delicious dishes. Additionally, the portion sizes are often praised as being large, ensuring that customers feel satisfied after their meal. The quick service is another strength mentioned by one customer, indicating efficient and prompt delivery or take-out service.
However, there are several weaknesses that need to be addressed. One common complaint is the high price. Multiple customers mention that the food is "a little bit pricey" and that prices have "shot up for rubbish food." This indicates that the restaurant may not offer value for money, and customers may feel that they are paying too much for their meals. Another weakness is the inconsistent quality of the food. One customer mentions that the spring rolls were good, but other dishes, like the salt and chilli munchy box, were disappointing. This inconsistency in food quality can negatively impact the overall dining experience.
The issue of excessively salty food is mentioned by multiple customers, with one stating that two out of their three meals were inedible due to the excessive salt. This suggests that the restaurant may have issues with seasoning and taste balance. Furthermore, one customer mentions that the food is saturated in salt, sugar, and oil, which can be seen as a health concern and may hinder the restaurant's appeal to health-conscious customers.
Customer service is also a weakness highlighted by some comments. One customer mentions that the counter staff should have warned them that a meal was meant for multiple people. Another customer mentions that the counter staff was not pleasant when they had a complaint, indicating poor customer service and a lack of willingness to resolve issues. This can affect the overall experience and customers' likelihood to return.
Several customers also discuss the recent decline in food quality and inconsistency at The Great Wall. This indicates that there may have been a change in management or a decline in the restaurant's standards. As the "best Chinese in Berwick" in the past, this decline in quality can lead to a loss of reputation and customer loyalty.
In conclusion, The Great Wall restaurant has strengths in terms of delicious food, large portions, and quick service. However, there are several weaknesses such as high prices, inconsistent food quality, excessive saltiness, poor customer service, and a decline in overall quality. Addressing these weaknesses will be crucial for the restaurant to improve its reputation, retain customers, and attract new ones.

Absolutely banging meal. Stopped by on a off chance while looking for a scran after finishing a long day of work.
Orded food and though it's a little bit pricey but we see how it go. We'll we got back to the accommodation and opened our food to find meals fit for a king.
Honestly the counter staff should be warning us that a meal is fit for 3-4 people not just one.
Honestly amazing food but again for too much for little old me lol.
If I'm ever back up this way deffo be stopping by again
An insult to food, nevermind Chinese food! Quite possibly the worst takeaway I've ever had. Overpriced, huge portions of overcooked then reheated 'food' saturated in Salt, sugar and oil.
Large portions .good quality, takeaway only and cash only
Food use to be lovely and always enjoyed it but after just getting what we just did I won't be back.
Salt and chilli munchy box was pretty much all just chips with very little flavour.
Bbq sauce was disgusting
Sweet and sour chicken was completely different from there usual.
The only good thing was the spring rolls
Prices have shot up for rubbish food and charged £15 for delivery even though they said it was alot less when asked when ordering
£50 wasted
Having used this Chinese take away in the past I must say I wouldn't risk using it again, lovely sized portions but 2 of our three meals that we purchased were inedible due to the amount of salt so a nice meal was totally wasted. Had the counter staff been more pleasant then we would have taken the meals back but this certainly wasn't the case. Definitely room for improvement
Not sure what's happen to this place in the last month or so. Normally food is great , but now when you order a meal it's pot luck what you get, I've ordered duck with mix veg a number of times and it's a different meal every time, same with other items on the menu . Prices have shot right up as well . Used to be the best Chinese in Berwick
Purchased Beef Green Peppers Black Bean Sauce and Beef Chow Mein , Fried Rice normally food great, tonight a disappointing meal as full of chilli, as we put this on top of the noodles and rice , it was far hot to eat between 3 people £26 wasted put in bin. The Great Wall not happy to refund full amount , very disappointed with new owners attitude!
Good food, portions massive and a bit much but not a bad complaint. Service very quick.
