Quick Facts About The Lighthouse
The Lighthouse Place has several strengths that make it an appealing place for customers. Firstly, it is located near the sea, which provides a pleasant environment and potentially attracts visitors who enjoy the coastal vibe. Additionally, the staff at The Lighthouse Place are friendly and helpful. This is exemplified by their support and assistance during the funeral of the reviewer's Aunt Mary. Their kindness and understanding during such a difficult time show that they are very empathetic and caring individuals.
Furthermore, the pub is described as great for families and children. The outside TV allows parents to watch their children while also enjoying a match, creating a conducive atmosphere for a family outing. The pub also offers a variety of activities throughout the week, which adds to its appeal. The reviewer specifically mentions the food as being brilliant, indicating that the culinary offerings at The Lighthouse Place are of high quality and satisfactory.
Another strength of The Lighthouse Place is its bright and welcoming ambiance. The reviewer mentions that the pub looked a lot better than on their previous visit, suggesting that improvements have been made. The outdoor area is also highlighted as a nice place to relax and allows children to play freely. Additionally, the beer is highly praised, with one reviewer stating that it is good and that they will return for it.
However, The Lighthouse Place also has some weaknesses that may impact its appeal and success. One common complaint is the presence of TVs throughout the pub, which detracts from the ambiance. Some reviewers mention that they do not want a TV in every room, as they believe pubs are meant for socializing and enjoying the company of others rather than watching television shows or sports matches. This criticism suggests that the pub could benefit from creating a more traditional and cozy atmosphere by minimizing the presence of TVs.
Another weakness highlighted by a reviewer is the pricing of coffee. The reviewer believes that £3.15 is excessive, especially considering that the coffee is made using a machine with a single button. Additionally, the lack of options for sugar other than white is a specific point of dissatisfaction. Such pricing and limited options may discourage customers from patronizing the pub for their coffee needs.
The potential closure of The Lighthouse Place due to lack of customers is also seen as a weakness. It is unfortunate that a place with caring staff, a great outdoor area, and activities for families might have to shut down. One reviewer speculates that the pub may be converted into expensive flats, indicating that the closure could lead to the loss of a community gathering spot and potentially affordable housing options.
In conclusion, The Lighthouse Place has several strengths, including its location near the sea, friendly staff, family-friendly atmosphere, and appealing outdoor area. However, it also has weaknesses such as the presence of TVs throughout the pub, pricing and options for coffee, and the potential closure due to lack of customers. Recognizing these strengths and weaknesses can help the pub make improvements to retain and attract more customers in the future.
Best TL Reviews
Nice place not far from the sea. They did my Aunt Mary's funeral. Lovely staff and it was a huge help for my uncle and cousin dealing with the loss of my aunt. It's a shame that it is getting closed down through lack of customers. It will probably be turned into expensive flats
Poor ambiance, tvs everywhere you look and playing the radio instead of music playing through speakers from a playlist, coffee is £3.15 (a; bad pricing as its just from a machine where 1 button is pressed and b; there should be different prices for different coffee, an americano should never be priced the same as a cappuccino unless they're both a low standard price), the coffee i had was served in a mug on a saucer with a sundae spoon and no option for sugar other than white. Although the coffee tasted nice I couldn't shake the bitter taste of the experience. Won't be going again any time soon.
If you are looking for a great place to visit and take the kids this is it. This pub caters for all. Very impressed with the outside TV so you can watch the children and the match. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend you try it.
I would have given it 4 stars if MTV wasn't on during the daytime. When will landlords throughout the nation realise that not everyone wants a TV in every room of a pub?
Pubs are for socialising with friends and family, or to have a quiet drink on your own.
The beer was in good condition, but a welcoming smile might have been nice.
I will be back, but only for the beer.
Lovely bright welcoming pub looks a lot better last time I visited well done xd
Had a couple of drinks there while we waited on family, there was no food available due to staff shortages. So can't comment on food. Nice place, staff were friendly
Superb pub friendly staff good beer
Variety of activity throughout the week: What more can you ask for.
Food is brilliant
Great pub! Fantastic little pub right opposite where we stayed on holiday. Unfortunately we only went the night before we was due to leave holiday. But we all wish we went sooner as the beer was cheaper and better than the heaven site!!
Really nice outdoor area to relax and let the kids play.
Cheers ????
