Quick Facts About The Kings Lock Inn
The King's Lock Inn has several strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. One of the strengths mentioned is its location next to the canal. This provides a scenic view and creates a charming atmosphere for patrons. Additionally, the pub has plenty of outdoor space, allowing customers to enjoy the summer weather.
Another strength mentioned is the polite and friendly staff. Their positive attitude contributes to a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. Customers appreciate the warm and inviting service provided by the barmaids and the landlord, Jack.
The availability of hot food on certain days of the week is also highlighted as a strength. This allows customers to have a meal while enjoying their drinks at the pub. The fact that the pub is dog-friendly is another strength. This makes it appealing to pet owners who want to spend time with their furry friends while enjoying a pint.
The King's Lock Inn is also praised for its selection of cask beers. The comment mentions that the cask ales are well-maintained and that there is a great choice available, including beers from the local Middlewich Brewery. This variety makes the pub attractive to beer enthusiasts who appreciate a diverse selection.
The pub's affiliation with CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) is seen as another strength. This indicates that the pub values quality ale and welcomes members of the organization. The pub's association with CAMRA may be appealing to beer connoisseurs who are looking for establishments that prioritize the quality and taste of their beers.
The King's Lock Inn is described as a family-friendly pub. This is a strength as it allows families to visit and enjoy their time together. The availability of chess and board games provides entertainment for children, keeping them engaged and occupied during their visit.
The pub's proximity to a great chippy is seen as a strength. This allows customers to easily purchase food from across the road and either eat it in the beer garden or inside the pub. This offers convenience and variety for those looking to have a bite to eat while visiting the pub.
One comment mentions that the pub has live bands. This is an additional strength as it provides entertainment for the patrons. Live music can enhance the atmosphere and create a lively and enjoyable experience for customers.
Finally, the pub's large car park and interesting views of canal life are mentioned as strengths. The presence of a car park makes it convenient for customers to drive to the pub and avoid parking difficulties. The interesting views of the canal create a unique and picturesque setting for patrons to enjoy.
Despite its many strengths, there are a few weaknesses that can be inferred from the comments. One weakness is the limited size of the pub. As mentioned, the seating fills up quickly due to popularity, which suggests that it may be challenging to find a seat during busy times. This could potentially be a drawback for customers who prefer a less crowded environment.
Another weakness that can be inferred is the limited availability of food. Although the comment mentions that hot food is served a few days a week, it implies that the pub is not primarily focused on being a foodie destination. For customers looking for a wide array of dining options, this may be a drawback.
In conclusion, The King's Lock Inn has several strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. These include its scenic location, polite staff, outdoor space, hot food availability, dog-friendliness, diverse selection of cask beers, affiliation with CAMRA, family-friendly atmosphere, proximity to a chippy, live bands, large car park, and interesting views of canal life. Cute little pub next to the canal and the staff are really polite. Although it's only small, there is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy in the summer, although seats fill up quick due to popularity. Would reccomend for summer drinks and Oktoberfest fest too.
I live local and pop in for the quiz on a Thursday or when it's nice weather sit out,The landlord and barmaids are always happy. Hot food served a few days a week. Very dog friendly pub.
As I haved passed this pub on my boat for 4 years now I can't guve this watering hole enough praise. Cask ale is kept tip top and a great choice including the local Middlewich Brewery. If you are passing get yourselves in there, great locals, friendly environment and Jack the landlord is fantastic.
Friendly atmosphere with owners knowledgeable of all the beers on offer. Camra members are welcomed. Four cask beers on offer, not run of the mill choice here! Food is on offer from Thursdays. I wasn't attending on latter part of the week.
Great CAMRA pub next to the canal and opposite a great chippy (makes up for it not being a foodie pub). Families always welcome. Chess is a good way to keep them occupied on club day but board games are always available. Friendly staff. Dogs welcome.
Nice local pub with decent beers at reasonable prices, friendly staff, and a good chippy across the road where you can buy food to eat in the beer garden or pub.
Free parking, but make sure you sign in inside the pub on the tablet in the bar to avoid charges ????
