Quick Facts About Westfield Fisheries

Westfield Fisheries, based on the comments provided, has several strengths and weaknesses. In terms of strengths, the lad who took the order over the phone is mentioned as being helpful and offering to amend the order if the customer returned. This indicates good customer service and a willingness to rectify any mistakes. Additionally, the service just before closing on a Sunday is described as lovely, suggesting that the staff may be accommodating and attentive even during busy times.
Another strength mentioned is the large portions and reasonable pricing. This indicates that customers feel they are getting value for their money, as they receive generous portions of food at a reasonable price. The fact that the fish and chips are described as being perfectly cooked and the scraps as being how they like them suggests that the quality of the food itself may be good.
However, there are also several weaknesses highlighted in the comments. One of the main weaknesses is the inconsistency in pricing and order accuracy. One customer ordered over the phone and was quoted £17, but when they went in person, they were charged £21. Additionally, the customer discovered that they were charged for an extra fish and chips, and were missing parts of their order. This indicates a lack of attention to detail and precision in fulfilling orders.
The quality of the food is also criticized by several customers. It is described as being nasty, with the fish not tasting fresh, the batter being burned on the outside and soggy underneath, and the fish cake being mostly cake with little fish. Some customers mention that they could not eat the food due to its unpleasant taste and greasiness. These comments suggest that the overall quality of the food may have declined over time.
Another weakness highlighted is the cleanliness of the fryers and the taste of the food. Customers mention that the food tastes like it hasn't been cooked in clean fat, leaving a bad aftertaste. The batter is described as being greasy and the chips are lumpy, chewy, and lack taste. These comments imply that there may be a lack of hygiene and cleanliness standards in the cooking process.
Furthermore, several customers mention the high prices in relation to the quality of the food. One customer states that the food is overpriced, and another customer feels that the fish cake, chips, and drink for £6.30 is expensive for what is mostly potatoes. This suggests that customers may not feel that the quality of the food justifies the prices being charged.
There is also criticism of the server's attitude and lack of friendliness. One customer mentions that the server does not come across in a positive manner and suggests that a smile and a thank you would have helped. This lack of friendly service may contribute to a negative overall experience for customers.
Overall, Westfield Fisheries has certain strengths such as helpfulness over the phone, reasonable pricing, and large portions. However, there are weaknesses in terms of order accuracy, food quality, cleanliness, and customer service. It seems that the decline in quality may be contributing to negative reviews and a loss of customer recommendation.

Best TL Reviews

Ordered over the phone was quoted £17 then went in got charged £21. Got there and the woman had to take my order again and then I took it and walked home (about 20 minutes walk) opened the bag to find that I had been charged for 3 fish and chips (I ordered 2) and my children’s meal and sausage (which I was charged for) was missing. This place used to be great but now is very overpriced, lower quality and bad service from the front of house staff. The only reason I didn’t give 1 star was because the lad on the phone who was so helpful and offered to amend the order if I came back but it was too far and it’s freezing outside so I left it. Used to be the best around now I wouldn’t recommend it at all.
Update the food I could not eat it was simply nasty
Lovely service just before closing on a Sunday. Large portions and reasonable pricing :)
Absolutely terrible, It’s overpriced and the food is not good it tastes like they haven't cleaned the fryers out the fish was dry and didn't taste fresh the batter is somehow burned on the outside and soggy underneath
There's much better fish and chips in the area for less money don’t waste your money here
They were disgusting, tasted like they’d been cooked in mucky fat, left a bad after taste. The batter was like a sponge & really greasy. They didn’t deserve 1 star ????????
Oh dear.
Had a takeaway from here.
Fish cake, chips and a drink for 6.30. That is very expensive for what is mostly potatoes.
The chips were lumpy and chewy with little taste.
The fish cake was all cake and little fish.
Despite loving my fish and chips and always supporting local I simply could not stomach it.
See photo.
Considering the vast choice of takeaways on offer in this area I'm surprised this particular one is still open.
Hadn't been here in years and was not disappointed by the food or service today!!!! Fish was perfectly cook as were the chip's, scraps were just how i like them too all very reasonably priced.
Very nice fish and large portion, which is reflected in the price.
Just a shame the server comes across the way she does , a smile and a thank you might just help.
Wonder what happened to the really friendly bubbly lady who used to work here? She was lovely.
Went into order & service was good. Sadly the quality of the food was atrocious. The cod (or whatever fish it was) was overly battered & full of big bones – completely inedible. Chips initially looked okay but then found many were scorched & others uncooked. One of us had a pie and the pastry was stale. This was the 2nd time we tried them as the 1st time wasn’t great, but this was worse & most of it went in the bin so unfortunately we won’t be bothering again.
