Quick Facts About The Old Mill
The Old Mill place has both strengths and weaknesses, as indicated by the comments provided. It is important to note that these comments are subjective and based on individual experiences. However, by analyzing these comments, we can gain insight into the overall strengths and weaknesses of the establishment.
One of the strengths mentioned is that the pub is tucked away and considered a nice little place. This suggests that the pub has a unique and quaint atmosphere, which is appealing to some customers. Additionally, the staff is described as friendly and pleasant, indicating that they provide good customer service. This is essential for creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment for patrons. The fact that the pub has genuine and fun customers also adds to its charm and character.
On the other hand, the weaknesses mentioned in the comments pose significant issues for the establishment. Several comments highlight cleanliness issues, such as the pub being dirty and smelly, as well as the toilets being described as shocking or reminiscent of a prison cell. These comments indicate a lack of cleanliness and hygiene standards, which can be off-putting to customers and have a negative impact on their overall experience. Furthermore, one commenter specifically mentioned that the beer tasted awful, suggesting that the lines might not have been cleaned properly, possibly for weeks. This raises concerns about the pub's attention to quality control and maintenance.
Another weakness pointed out is the Sunday afternoon singer who is described as a "shouting t**t." This suggests that the pub may have issues with the selection of entertainment or the volume at which it is presented. A repetitive two-hour set, performed twice, can become tiresome and irritating for customers, leading to a negative experience. This comment highlights the need for variety and consideration for customers' preferences when it comes to entertainment.
In addition, a negative review mentions rude and unwelcoming staff, suggesting a lack of professional behavior and customer service. This comment implies that there might be a problem with staff training or management, as it is important for staff to be courteous and welcoming to create a positive atmosphere for customers.
Another weakness mentioned is the limited availability of real ales. Although the pub advertises three real ales, the comment states that only one is ever available. This indicates a lack of consistency and potentially false advertising, which can be disappointing for customers, particularly those who enjoy a variety of beers.
In summary, The Old Mill place has some strengths, including a tucked-away and quaint atmosphere, friendly staff, and genuine customers. However, it also has several weaknesses, such as issues with cleanliness and hygiene, problems with the entertainment offered, concerns about rude staff, and inconsistencies in the availability of drinks. These weaknesses have the potential to negatively impact the overall experience for customers and may need to be addressed by the management in order to improve the pub's reputation and attract more customers.

Nipped in for a quick drink. Shouldn't have bothered. It used be a crqcking pub but it seems dirty, smelt a little funny and the beer was AWFUL like the lines hadnt been cleaned in weeks.
Seemed quite a small pub, the staff were friendly enough, and the drinks seemed reasonably priced, the toilets were shocking though. Very..... prison cell.
Who ever that shouting t**t is on a Sunday afternoon who thinks he can sing, don't hire him again. Awful voice, Awful song selection and does he have to be on all afternoon and all evening. Exact same two hour set.....Twice. shouting down the mic!?
