Nice pub and the food is quite nice too. Close to Rugeley and Lichfield and not far from Trent and Mersey Canal. Very enjoyable venue and they have quiz nights
Just come back from the Olde Peculiar after celebrating our daughter's 50 birthday. Fabulous hot food and staff are 1st class. Thank you everyone for making it special. Xxx
The staff were very welcoming, the room was spotless, especially the bathroom. The added extras, i.e. dispenser in shower for shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, and hairdryer were a bonus. Very comfortable bed. Evening meal in the pub was excellent, and the breakfast was also very good. Would definitely recommend this place.
We stayed one night. Lovely location, very welcoming owners and surprisingly quiet for a pub.very cleaned and well equipped. Good choice of breakfast. The only downside was the beds. The springs could be felt under the sheet which made it uncomfortable and one of the pillows was almost flat. But for that, it would have had 5 stars. Recommended.
Fantastic night here for the Soul night. Fabulous food cracking real ale from Goffs the locals are super friendly and the music was great. New to the village but I reckon we have found our forever pub!!!! Thank you staff and everyone for a brilliant night

Rural pub just within the village of Armitage, a beer lover, or a diners pub, very nice “home cooked” food recommend the steak and kidney pie (proper steak and kidney). Fine range of well kept beers including Theakston’s notoriously brain addling “Old Peculiar” good solid pub food menu and specials, great ale, reasonably priced.
Very nice local pub very friendly atmosphere and staff great range of beers nice room and home made food. The breakfast is a nice selection and the cooked breakfast is awesome thank you .
We didn't stay overnight here but we did have a lovely Sunday roast.
It's a type of pub that you don't see that often now a days, what I mean is its a typical village pub. Food is only served between 12.00 and 2.30pm.
What we experienced in the pub in way of service I would thoroughly recommend dining and staying here.
