Quick Facts About The Denbigh
The Denbigh Place, as described by the comments above, has a number of strengths and weaknesses.
One of the strengths mentioned is the friendliness of the staff. Guests comment that the waiters were very kind and even brought their food to their table outside. The staff also made multiple inquiries about water for the guests' dogs, showing that the pub is dog-friendly and accommodating. This creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for customers, making them feel comfortable and satisfied with their experience. Additionally, the service staff during Ramen Week was attentive, informative, and friendly, creating a good atmosphere and making guests feel welcomed.
The quality of the food is another strength that is consistently mentioned in the comments. Guests praised the pub for providing outstandingly good food and a varied menu. The meals were well-prepared, authentic, and fresh. The Sunday roast, in particular, was generous in portion size and the prawn cocktail was hearty and tasty. The portions were also noted to be generous and the food was served quickly. One guest even mentioned that the chef obviously loves his job, indicating a passion for creating delicious meals.
The overall atmosphere of the pub is another strength mentioned. Despite the outdated interior, guests mentioned that they were surprised by the comfortable atmosphere created by small details such as cushions. The pub, with its traditional English decor and memorabilia, added to the charm and uniqueness of the place.
However, there are also weaknesses that were pointed out in the comments. One of the main weaknesses mentioned is the need for updating the interior of the pub. Guests described the interior as dark and grim, in desperate need of a renovation. This can affect the overall experience and ambiance of the pub, potentially discouraging customers from returning.
Another weakness mentioned is the inexperience of the staff and slow service. Some guests described the staff as young and inexperienced. This could lead to a less efficient and satisfactory service experience. Additionally, during a Christmas lunch, one guest commented on the slow service and poor food quality. The turkey was not carved from a large bird but from processed flat packs typically found at cash and carry wholesalers, leading to disappointment. The guest also mentioned being seated right next to the toilets, which negatively impacted the dining experience.
Other weaknesses mentioned are the pricing of certain items, such as sandwiches, which were considered expensive by some customers. The desert menu was also mentioned to be in need of updating, with items being crossed out and added by hand, potentially giving off an impression of disorganization.
In conclusion, The Denbigh Place has several strengths, such as friendly and accommodating staff, delicious and well-prepared food, and a unique and comfortable atmosphere. However, it also has weaknesses, including the need for interior updates, inexperience and slow service, as well as higher pricing for certain items. These factors should be taken into consideration when assessing the overall strengths and weaknesses of The Denbigh Place.

We booked a table for Sunday lunch. It was our first time going there. First impressions the interior is of desperate need of updating, it’s dark and grim.
The staff were young and inexperienced and rushed off their feet.
When our food finally came the portions were good and the vegetables were freshly cooked. However the nut roast was full of peanuts, my partner and I eat nut roast out all the time and have never had one filled with peanuts, obviously cheaper to make . No one asked us if we had a peanut allergy which my partner does.
We went there for Ramen Week, as we noticed it was advertised and we were intrigued, as it’s not a very common thing for an old school, traditional pub to produce such dishes. We can honestly say that we cannot fault the meal we received, incredibly well prepared, authentic and fresh. The bar and service staff were attentive, informative and friendly. A good atmosphere and very welcoming. Will definitely be going back again and would recommend it to anyone.
Best kept pint I've had in a long time, very friendly staff and food at reasonable prices. Good food too: varied menu, served quickly and made by a chef who obviously loves his job.
We had Christmas lunch 3:00pm. We waited and waited, very slow service, and we were very disappointed. Turkey wasn’t carved from lg bird. It was meat, from a processed flat pk , which is generally available at cash and carry wholesalers . The whole meal experience was far below standards expected. Also we were seated right next to the Gents Toilets !!! The whole process took approximately 2 hours to complete the disaster. Poor Food, and Service.
This is a great local pub with a brilliant chef! We visited for the first time today, I was a little unsure as the pub itself is a typical English pub, lots of memorabilia hanging around and old dated furniture But small things such as cushions made it surprisingly comfortable. My husband was worried that as it had an A la carte menu, the portions would be tiny. We ordered the steak and kidney pudding and duck and advacado salad. The duck was crispy, a little too much sauce but certainly didn't ruin the dish. Loaded with advacado, mixed salad leaves tomatoes and shredded cucumber. The steak and kidney pudding came with lots of seasonal veg and creamy mash and gravy. The portions were very generous.
The desert menu needs updating, one item was crossed out and something else hand written in at the bottom. We ordered the meringue with mixed berries and the chocolate brownie. Brownie tasted of chocolate (some dont) was warm and moist and the ice cream was smooth and good quality. There was a small biscuit on the top that was a little out of place and didn't go with the dish, but so small it didn't matter.
There was one member of staff behind the bar, she was very polite and helpful.
Over all a fab dinner and chilled out environment, a little bexhill gem.
Enjoyed the food. Hot and tasty. Server was lovely. The only complaint is the smell in the restaurant. Thought the sandwiches were a bit pricey.
A nice old fashion pud serving good food and drink!
The Sunday roast, trio of meat, was generous with the meat and potato’s. I would have liked more veg, I’m sure I could have asked.
The prawn cocktail too was very good and hearty and didn’t leave you needed that extra prawn that is often missing.
Kids menu comes will an activity sheet and crayons, which is always a winner!
There are other places to eat that will be satisfy your wallet but The Denbigh will certainly satisfy your belly more!
As and when we are Bexhill we will certainly come again! ????
