One customer mentioned that they had a nice meal at The Plough & Harrow but had to wait a long time for it to be served. Additionally, they were the last to receive their meal despite booking for 20 people. This highlights a weakness in their service and suggests that the staff may struggle to handle larger groups, leading to delays and inefficiencies.
On the other hand, another customer praised the place, stating that the food was top class and great value. They also mentioned that the staff were nice and friendly. This indicates a strength in terms of the quality of the food and the customer service provided by the staff. The fact that this customer would "definitely go again" highlights the positive experience they had at The Plough & Harrow.
Another customer raved about their beautiful and affordable meal at the place. They emphasized the helpful and friendly staff, which suggests another strength in terms of the customer service provided. Furthermore, the mention that children can eat for £1 indicates that The Plough & Harrow caters to families and offers affordable options for children. This is a potential competitive advantage, especially for families looking for a budget-friendly dining experience.
One comment mentioned that the food at The Plough & Harrow was delicious and home-cooked. The mention of the Cajun salmon and mash, as well as the steak and ale pie, highlights the flavorful options available on the menu. This demonstrates a strength in terms of the quality and taste of the food.
The comment about The Plough & Harrow being under new management indicates a change in leadership, which could potentially address any weaknesses mentioned in previous comments. However, without further information about the new management, it is difficult to assess the impact of this change.
One negative comment criticized the place for serving a vile lasagna that lacked pasta and had tasteless mince and old cheese. Additionally, they mentioned that the surfaces were dirty and sticky, and the wine glasses were filthy. This raises concerns about the cleanliness and quality control standards at The Plough & Harrow, indicating a potential weakness in their operations and attention to detail.
Despite the negative comment mentioned above, other customers emphasized the warm welcome from the staff, the homely and tasteful decor, and the delicious food. These positive comments suggest that The Plough & Harrow creates a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere, which is a strength in terms of customer experience.
It is important to note that one comment mentioned the limited opening hours and availability of the kitchen. The fact that the kitchen is only open on certain days and times may be a weakness for customers looking for a more flexible dining experience.
In conclusion, The Plough & Harrow has received a mix of strengths and weaknesses based on customer comments. The strengths include the quality and taste of the food, friendly staff, affordable options for families, and a welcoming atmosphere. However, areas for improvement include addressing long waiting times, ensuring consistent quality control standards, and potentially expanding the opening hours of the kitchen. By addressing these weaknesses, The Plough & Harrow has the potential to further enhance the overall customer experience and attract a wider customer base.

We came across this place on Google and went out for some food and drink on the evening. We ordered two lasagnas and it was vile, we couldn’t even find any pasta in it… just tasteless mince and old cheese. The surfaces were dirty and sticky. The wine glasses were filthy and had to take them back, we tried to order a bottle of wine but were told they could only serve it by the glass…. For the price it was dire…. We wouldn’t go back if they paid us £50
Warm welcome from the staff
Homely, tasteful decor
Delicious food
