Quick Facts About Mash & Barrel
Mash & Barrel is a restaurant that has received mixed reviews from customers. While some customers appreciate the friendly staff and the location of the restaurant, many have mentioned significant weaknesses in their experience. One of the main weaknesses highlighted by customers is the long wait times for food. Multiple customers reported waiting for over 45 minutes to be served, and some reported having to wait even longer. This can be frustrating for customers, particularly when they are eating with young children or have other time constraints. This issue may be attributed to a lack of staff, as some customers noted that the staff appeared to be busy and overwhelmed. This suggests that Mash & Barrel may benefit from hiring additional staff or improving their staff scheduling to ensure a more efficient service and shorter wait times.
Another weakness mentioned by customers is the quality of the food. Some customers felt that the food was not worth the price they paid, describing it as fast, typical pub chain food that lacked enjoyment. These comments suggest that there may be room for improvement in the variety and quality of the menu options. Offering more diverse and higher quality pub grub could enhance the dining experience for customers and justify the prices charged.
In addition to the long wait times and food quality issues, some customers also noted cleanliness concerns. Several customers mentioned that the restaurant and the site as a whole could benefit from improved cleanliness. This suggests that Mash & Barrel should prioritize regular cleaning and maintenance to ensure a more pleasant environment for customers.
Despite these weaknesses, there are also some strengths that were mentioned by customers. The staff at Mash & Barrel were often described as friendly and accommodating, with a few customers noting positive interactions with specific staff members. This indicates that the restaurant does have potential in terms of customer service. With additional training in customer service, the staff could provide an even better dining experience for customers.
Some customers also appreciated the ground floor bathroom for disabled access, noting that it made their parents or loved ones feel comfortable. This indicates that Mash & Barrel is taking steps to accommodate customers with special needs, which is a strength in terms of inclusivity.
Furthermore, the location of the restaurant was mentioned as a positive aspect by some customers. They appreciated being able to see their children from the balcony while enjoying a meal, which can be a valuable feature for families.
Overall, Mash & Barrel has some strengths, such as friendly staff and a good location, but there are significant weaknesses that need to be addressed. Improving wait times, food quality, cleanliness, and customer service training are areas that the restaurant should focus on to provide a more enjoyable dining experience for customers and justify the prices charged.

On a busy day we returned to be told our wait for food was 45 mins. At our table of 7 only half our table got served after 45 mins and the other half served after 65 when the other had already eaten. Personally don't think the food was worth it for the price.
It's a shame they don't go for quality pub grub. It's fast typical pub chain food, not really enjoyable but if you stay on site and don't take food with you to cook, you're stuck for choices
Only giving one star because there is no option to give zero stars although the one star is somewhat justified by the one or two members of staff that were friendly. We were told to book a table which is totally fair and I think it's a good idea - you'd assume that this would mean that everyone has a better experience due to more organisation allowed as a result of them knowing how many customers they would have and when. However this was absolutely not the case. We booked two meals here (unfortunately both booked before having ever visited before) one booking was for an evening meal and the other was for breakfast the next morning. We arrived for the evening booking, the restaurant was relatively empty, I'd estimate that it was far less than half full. We were seated (staff were pleasant), we ordered pretty much straight away after speedily deciding what we were going to have. I looked around and noticed that on at least two tables, half of the party appeared to have eaten and the rest of their party were still waiting on food. 45 minutes passed, during this time we witnessed a few people sending food back to the kitchen, a few people walking out without having been fed due to their wait and a LOT of comments about wait time. I must point out that at NO point during our visit did any member of staff inform us that the wait time was going to be in excess of an hour (as would usually happen in most other establishments) Another 15 minutes passed, we decided that entertaining a hungry four year old for an hour wasn't the best use of our evening on holiday so asked if our food would be on the way, we received it a matter of minutes after this. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and still returned for our breakfast booking the following morning, we waited at the door to be taken to our seat but no one acknowledged us, a few people were doing the same. We were then approached by a customer suggesting that we just find our own seat as they had done the same as us and no one ever came to direct them to their booked seat. Again, the restaurant was very far from busy. The wait for food was slightly less on this occasion, the order came out wrong but we didn't want to wait any longer so chose to just eat what we were given so that we could get out of there quicker. The food was edible. The menu was fine. The staff were mostly friendly when they actually acknowledged the customers. Everything was massively over priced especially when you take into consideration that the overall experience on both occasions was far from the relaxing family meal that we had expected. Feel sorry for the staff to be honest.
Would have been 5 stars however they could do with more staff and some training in customer service. Overall food was lovely. Service was slow at times
Food came scarily fast after waiting 40 mins to be served (probably microwaved rubbish). Again waited a good 30-40 minutes to pay the bill. Wouldn't come again
Staff were lovely, always seem to be a wait to be served, even when there was no queues. Ground floor bathroom for disabled access was very welcome and made my mum feel comfortable. We did expect the higher drinks prices and understand re profit margins, if you could address, you would make more through volume of sales. The security staff were lovely too. Cleanliness, along with the rest of the site could be improved. Good location if the weather is pleasant to see your children from the balcony, whilst having a little respite. We choose not to eat there due to the bad reviews. Generally good service and location to unwind.
It was the last night on the park and we thought we'd treat ourselves to dinner
Booked in for 615pm .. When we arrived the place was a mess with plates piled on tables , rubbish on the floor.. Not great impression!
We waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for food to arrive after ordering (!) And it wasn't that busy.
The staff that were there were all busy all the time, just obviously there weren't enough staff to cope with the orders!
After waiting for over an hour to get food we've just had to walk out as the little ones couldn’t wait any longer! If we had of had our expectations managed at the start of the meal this would have went a long way to keep us informed and make the decision as to whether or not we wanted to eat here. Instead we were continually promised that our food would be another “10 minutes” on 2 occasions so we had to give up and head to papa johns! I know these are tough time but please make sure you’re adequately staffed to deal with customer demand or at the very minimum managing customer expectations adequately.
