Quick Facts About Bashley Manor Tearooms
Bashley Manor Tearooms has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, one comment mentions that the full English breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked. The staff were also described as extremely friendly and attentive. This indicates that the tearooms have the ability to serve high-quality meals and provide good customer service, creating a positive dining experience for customers. Additionally, another comment mentions fantastic cakes and fry ups, highlighting the strength of their desserts and breakfast options.
The tearooms also seem to offer a variety of options, including sandwiches and toasties, as well as cream tea and cake. The availability of different menu items caters to different tastes and preferences, making it possible for customers to find something they enjoy.
Another positive aspect mentioned in a comment is that the tearooms accept cash payments for amounts under £10, which can be convenient for customers who prefer to use cash.
However, there are also several weaknesses that are brought up in the comments. One common complaint is the high prices. One customer mentions paying £25 for a sausage, egg, and chips meal with a coke, which was considered to be expensive. Another comment mentions paying £5.50 for a sandwich that was considered overpriced given the quality and amount of ingredients. These price concerns indicate that the tearooms might not provide good value for money.
The issue of food quality is also raised in a few comments. One customer sent back their sausage, egg, and chips dish due to it being awful. Another comment mentions that the bread in their sandwiches was dry and not buttered, which they found strange. These instances suggest that there may be inconsistencies in the food preparation and cooking, which can lead to a negative dining experience.
Another weakness brought up in a comment is the smell of cooking oil throughout the tearooms, which was described as terrible. This unpleasant smell can detract from the overall enjoyment of the meal.
Additionally, friendliness and atmosphere are mentioned as areas for improvement. One comment mentions that the tearooms were not overly friendly, which can impact the overall dining experience. Another comment notes that the tearooms used to be charming in the past but have lost some of their appeal in recent times, possibly due to changes related to COVID-19. This suggests that the tearooms may need to work on creating a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for customers.
In conclusion, the strengths of Bashley Manor Tearooms include their ability to serve delicious meals, friendly staff, and a variety of menu options. However, there are weaknesses related to high prices, inconsistent food quality, cooking oil smells, and potential issues with friendliness and atmosphere. Taking these factors into account, it is clear that there are both positive and negative aspects to consider when evaluating the tearooms.

Dreadful - sausage egg chips & ham egg chips with a coke £25!!!! Plastic cup and if you want water you have to get it from an outside tap!! Used to be so lovely..NEVER AGAIN!!
Stopped by while at the museum, we were advised on entering the grills we're off already and only sandwiches or toasties which is fair enough so we ordered sandwiches.
When we received them they were "okay" at best.. very dry as bread wasn't even buttered. Something we both found very strange.
Also, for what it was.. £5.50 for a bit of cheese and ham between two dry bits of bread seems very steep. ????????♀️
Six of us had the full English breakfast. All freshly cooked, and with extras as requested - black pud’n’s, mushrooms, etc. Absolutely delicious.
The staff extremely friendly, and checked on us during our visit.
Have booked ahead for 7 of us to go for brunch on Easter Saturday.
Thank you, Bashley Manor Tearoom.
Sorry but disappointed. Terrible cooking oil smell throughout cafe. Nice teacakes but ghastly coffee glad i had tea but my partner regretted his decision. . A few years ago it was a charming venue. Good menu and a place you would recommend. Certainly will avoid until the place reverts back to pre covid times. Not overly friendly. Very sad.
Sausage, egg and chips, sent it back it was awful, chips overcooked, sausage edible but burnt, and the eggs well burnt on the bottom the yoke was not cooked, money refunded, get a new cook !
We arrived just after 12.00 on Sunday 6th March to the delicious smell of cooked breakfast rolls. We had a voucher for cream tea and cake (present alongside tickets for the museum) for which we received a hot drink and the most amazing pieces of cake and scones/jam/clotted cream.
Previous reviews have commented about the cake being pricey, but based on the size of the cakes and puddings, I'm not sure I agree with these comments.
We found the staff very friendly and helpful, during a busy brunch/lunch period.
The Mocha was also one of the nicest I've had. We will definitely be returning on our bike, for a breakfast bap or two in the future. :)
Fantastic cakes and fry ups. Shared a cheesecake and cake with friend. OMG! Cash if under £10. Dogs in different section.
