4. Food presentation: While the food at The Rising Sun is praised for being delicious, there is no mention of the presentation. While taste is paramount, visually appealing dishes can enhance the overall dining experience.
Overall, The Rising Sun Country Pub & Dining has several strengths, including being dog-friendly, offering great food and bar snacks, having friendly staff, creating a cosy atmosphere, and providing a good range of drinks. However, there are areas of improvement that can be addressed, such as consistency in the quality of the Sunday roast, adding more flavor to dishes, and focusing on food presentation.

Lovely dog friendly pub with great food!! The choice of bar snacks is great! We will be back very soon! Thanks Richie!
One of our favourite places to visit for Sunday lunch the food is outstanding and the homemade Yorkshire puddings are nearly bigger than the plate! The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is so cosy especially when the fire is roaring! An extra shout out to the young gentleman who works in and out of the kitchens serving food - what an incredibly polite young man he is, he really makes me smile with his superb customer service. Always a pleasure to drop by and we shall see you all in the New Year.
Our first visit to this lovely rural pub and it won't be the last by any means. Good range of real ales, lagers and ciders, all in tip top condition made for a pleasant stay regardless of whether you were dining or not. But add the food and you are in for a treat, beautifully cooked, perfectly presented and generous proportions. Our sandwiches from the snacks menu and gammon from the main meals selection were excellent and looking around the meals were being enjoyed by everyone. They have a dog friendly area and off road parking and if you go for lunch don't plan for anything other than a contented afternoon nap ! We'll be back.
First visit to this place for a very long time. Great staff, fantastic food. Fresh, well presented tasty food. Definitely shall be returning and tell my friends to visit. Thank you too all the staff for making our visit welcoming and pleasant
The staff were superb, friendly, efficient, really lovely (5 stars). The Sunday roast was disappointing. Cauliflower cheese fairly bland and missing the lovely grilled top. Chicken, 2 slithers, dry. Overcooked Yorkshire puds. Overall lacked flavour. Such a shame.
After reading lots of reviews to find a decent place to meet my friend for lunch we settled on The Rising Sun.
4/2/23 I drove from Birmingham.
My friend and I are 'foodies' and really appreciate good food
know what we like and certainly dislike and will voice our opinions both good and not so..
We had starters of pate and bruscetto (sorry unsure of spelling?) They were lovely, generous portions.
We opted for the Sea Bass with a pineapple relish, baby potatoes samphire and kale..My goodness it was EXCELLENT!
Very well presented and piping hot.
We each had a desert which were very good indeed.
The service from Terri and team couldn't be faulted, friendly and quick. Prices were also more than reasonable; Ambiance welcoming.
We left very happy indeed.
Very well done to the whole team at the Rising Sun.
As Arnie said...'I'll be back' (even though its quite a jaunt from Brum!)
If you like pie this place is a must! Handy from the canal, good beer and the grill night also good. Great for the price.
We didn't have lunch there on this particular day, but the food looked lovely. Service was very good. Friendly and warm environment
