Quick Facts About The Ship Tavern

The Ship Tavern has received mixed reviews from customers, with both positive and negative experiences mentioned in the comments. In evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of the pub, it is important to consider the various aspects mentioned by customers.
Starting with the strengths, the comments mention that the staff at The Ship Tavern are great and friendly. This is a significant strength as good customer service can greatly enhance the dining experience. When staff members are welcoming and attentive, it creates a positive atmosphere and makes customers feel valued. The positive comments regarding the staff indicate that The Ship Tavern has succeeded in this aspect.
Additionally, the comments highlight the lovely food served at the pub. The positive reviews for the food suggest that it is of high quality and enjoyable. The mention of nice big portions is also a positive aspect as it indicates that customers are getting value for their money. Good food is a crucial strength for any restaurant or pub, as it is the main reason why customers choose to dine out.
Another strength mentioned in the comments is the concept of huts in the garden. This is a unique feature that some customers appreciated, particularly in relation to the unreliable weather. The huts provide shelter and allow customers to enjoy outdoor seating despite the weather conditions. This innovation shows that The Ship Tavern has thoughtfully considered ways to enhance the dining experience for their customers.
On the other hand, there are some weaknesses mentioned in the comments that need to be addressed. One recurring complaint is the slow service. Multiple customers mentioned waiting a considerable amount of time for their meals, and even for the bill. Slow service can result in frustration and negatively impact the overall dining experience, particularly for those on a tight schedule.
Furthermore, one customer expressed disappointment with the quality of the food. They compared it to frozen burger patties and criticized the presentation. This suggests that there may be inconsistencies in the kitchen, where some dishes may not meet the expected standards. Inconsistent food quality can be a major weakness for any restaurant, as it undermines the reputation and can lead to negative reviews.
Another weakness mentioned includes the atmosphere during Sunday dinner, with kids running around and the presence of a big screen TV. Some customers did not appreciate this environment and felt it was more suitable for casual dining rather than a nice family meal. This indicates that the ambiance of the pub may not appeal to everyone and may not always align with customers' preferences.
In terms of service, one customer commented on a negative experience, mentioning that they were shocked and appalled by the service provided. While the specific details were not mentioned, such negative experiences can be detrimental to the reputation of the pub and discourage potential customers.
In summary, The Ship Tavern has several strengths that include great staff, lovely food, and the unique concept of huts in the garden. These positive aspects contribute to a welcoming atmosphere and enjoyable dining experience for customers. However, there are also weaknesses to address, such as slow service, inconsistencies in food quality, and an atmosphere that may not suit all customers. By addressing these weaknesses, The Ship Tavern can further improve customer satisfaction and solidify its reputation as a reputable dining establishment.

Best TL Reviews

Great staff, lovely food and we thought the huts in the garden were a good idea especially with our unreliable weather. Will definitely be visiting again .
I took my wife here last night for her 40th birthday. I lovely pub and the food was stunning. Nice big portions and the staff are really friendly. I will be recommending the pub to everyone.
Booked Sunday dinner! Was like eating at a nursery kids running about whilst mum and dad. Watch big screen tv and neck drinks like no tomorrow but shame because the food was good! Just remember wear your best tracksuit and your fit right in !????
We arrived at 12.30 pub was not busy. We waited and waited for our main meal. Very very slow service. Then same again for desserts. The bill was presented after another wait on a scrap of paper. Not professional at all. Do not attempt if you are on a work lunch break
Absolutely shocked ane appalled by the service provided for me tonight here.
We waited for nearly 2 hours or so for our food just to get food that looked like the burger patties you get from Iceland that you just wack in the microwave for 5 - 8 minutes, the cheese wasn't even melted properly on the burger, the food looked like the type of food you would give your dog which made it more digusting and the burger buns was the cheap bread buns you get at Tesco's or Morrisons.
The staff were lovely but I have to say the food was not great at all and one of the people there were lying to us but I would like to think why.
The people next to us who ordered fish and chips had loads of bones in them which was more appalling and shocking for us.
I would honestly rather get the drinks here which were alr but the food was honestly that bad I would rather feed it to my cat then eat it myself.
Great fish n chips..probably best in medway!! Medium portion is like a whale, attentive friendly staff nothing is too much trouble, will say prices have risen quite abit since reopening and yes this is not the only place to do so after the year that hospitality has had(£10) for prawn cocktail? This is not a dig...just an observation,Still good food though. That's why I keep going back ????????????
Waited 1 hour for 2 sandwiches. Another table ordered 4 main meals and there was 15 min. delay between first and last meal being served.
Popped by for lunch on a saturday. Good atmosphere, lots of people watching the football.
Food was divine, portion sizes were also great. My only regret is not ordering out of my comfort zone to properly put the chef to the test. I will be back to try your Nepalese options. ????
