Quick Facts About The Teahouse
The Teahouse Place has several strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. Firstly, customers consistently praise the food and menu selection. The comment mentions a great selection of food, from cooked breakfasts to afternoon tea, indicating that there is something for everyone. The fact that the menu is not intimidating suggests that it is easy to find something to enjoy without feeling overwhelmed by too many options. This is a strength because it caters to a wide range of tastes and preferences.
The converted stables of an old country house give The Teahouse Place a unique and charming atmosphere, which is often mentioned as another strength. Customers appreciate the ambience, finding it just right for a relaxing dining experience. The location adds to the overall appeal, providing a pleasant backdrop for enjoying a meal.
Another strength is the friendly and attentive service. Multiple comments mention the staff being accommodating and going above and beyond to ensure a positive dining experience. This highlights the importance the staff places on customer satisfaction and contributes to the overall positive atmosphere of the teahouse.
The Teahouse Place also receives praise for its value for money. The comment mentions that the service is still very good value for money, indicating that customers feel they are getting a good deal for the quality of the food and experience provided. This is a significant strength, as customers are more likely to return to a place that offers good value.
A noteworthy strength is that The Teahouse Place is dog-friendly. This is mentioned as a positive aspect, as it allows customers to bring their furry friends along for a visit. Being dog-friendly can attract a specific customer base and create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Despite these strengths, there are a few weaknesses that have been pointed out by customers. One specific suggestion is to improve the fruit salad offered in the afternoon tea. A customer recommends replacing it with fresh chopped fruits and a small pot of cream to enhance the decadence of the experience. This feedback suggests that the current fruit salad may not be meeting the expectations of some customers and could be improved.
Another weakness mentioned is the need to book in advance. While this indicates the popularity of The Teahouse Place, it can also result in disappointment for walk-in customers who may not be able to secure a table. The recommendation to book in advance serves as a warning to potential customers and suggests that the teahouse could benefit from expanding its seating capacity or streamlining its reservation system.
One negative experience shared in a comment highlights some potential issues with service efficiency. The customer felt overlooked and left without being served despite waiting for a table to be cleaned. They observed that tables that were not in use were being cleaned before theirs, and other customers who arrived later were being served first. This highlights a potential weakness in the teahouse's operations and suggests that the staff may need to improve their efficiency and prioritize seating and serving customers in the order they arrived.
In conclusion, The Teahouse Place has many strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. These include a great selection of food, a charming atmosphere in a converted country house, friendly and attentive service, good value for money, and being dog-friendly. However, there are a few weaknesses that have been mentioned, such as the need to improve the fruit salad in the afternoon tea, the necessity of booking in advance, and potential issues with service efficiency. These weaknesses provide opportunities for improvement to enhance the overall customer experience at The Teahouse Place.

This is an excellent little tea room. Great selection of food but not an intimidating menu. Lots of choice from cooked breakfasts to afternoon tea and all situated in the converted stables of an old country house. My partner and I had an afternoon tea and we enjoyed it very much.
I do have 2 reccomendations, however. The first to the owners. This would be to swap out the current fruit salad in the afternoon tea for some 'fresh' chopped fruits with a small pot of cream. Yes, the cost would be greater but this would add polish and make the afternoon tea all the more decadent. The second is directly to potential customer. BOOK IN ADVANCE. This place is an absolute gem in the surrounding area and can get too busy to accept walk in customers at certain times. The reason is obvious...... The food, the service, the quality and location are close to perfect. Will definitely be visiting again.
Booked in advance for afternoon tea as an early Mother's day treat for our mum who's not as mobile as she once was. Parking was sufficient & access to the Teahouse was adequate. The ambience was just right and the food was amazing. I have some food intolerances and my afternoon tea was more than I expected and taste delicious. I will definitely come again.
After a bit of a covid break, it's been wonderful to return to the great atmosphere of The Teahouse, where nothing is too much trouble and delicious, fresh, home cooked style food is plentyful.
Great friendly, service which is still very good value for money.
I even like a cheeky takeaway cake sometimes!
I have been to "The Teahouse" many times and the food has always been been of a very good quality. Service and the general atmosphere is friendly and there are lots of regular returning customers. It can get busy at weekends especially if there are groups having afternoon teas. My favourite meal is the mushroom and poached eggs special which is delicious. The adjacent Carr Bank park is pleasant for a stroll on a nice day.
Amazing place. We had a tea party for my father in law. They were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Food was nice and plenty of refills for tea and coffee.
Can't tell how food and drinks were... It's a cozy place but... Me and the family waited for a table to get cleaned among all other tables that needed that so we can order. Someone went to clean the tables that no one was waiting for and our table was still loaded (we just moved everything on another table).. We went to order and been told to wait at the table as someone will come serve us... then other people arrived after a while and they been served before us.. we got ourselves out looking for another place to get served. Another table was waiting same as us and they left too as it seems that last to come are served first????we even missed to order for breakfast and had to be happy with a lunch instead????????♀️
I have years of experience as a waiter and my advice for this place: First in is first served and also if you see people waiting at a dirty table please clean that first to serve them. The other dirty tables no one is waiting for can be cleaned afterwards ????
Have a good day????
P.S.: Please take this feedback as constructive ❤️
Lovely cosy tearoom. Looking forward to my next visit. Poached eggs were excellent and service the same. Highly reccommend can get busy so will reserve a table next time just in case.
A great tea room. Staff friendly and efficient. They take bookings and also serve afternoon tea. Dog friendly, so perfect for before (or after) a lovely walk around Carr Bank Park.
