Quick Facts About The Three Crowns Inn
The Three Crowns Inn appears to have several strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, the owners, chef, and staff received multiple praises for their exceptional service and high-quality food. This indicates that the establishment is well-managed and the staff are attentive and skilled. The comment specifically mentioned that the food and service exceeded expectations, suggesting a high level of customer satisfaction.
The portion sizes of the meals were also consistently praised. The generous portion of roast beef on the Sunday dinner and the ample portion of the rag pudding and chips demonstrate that customers feel they are getting good value for their money.
The decor and atmosphere of the inn were also highly regarded. The lovely decor and great atmosphere create a pleasant dining experience for customers. Additionally, the mention of nice music being played indicates attention to detail and consideration for the ambiance.
The inn seems to be family-friendly, as one customer mentioned that their young child had a meltdown during the meal but the staff did not react negatively. This suggests that the staff are understanding and accommodating towards families with children, creating a welcoming environment for all.
The location of the inn is also mentioned as a strength, with public footpaths into the countryside nearby. This adds to the overall appeal of the establishment, as customers can enjoy a meal and then take a leisurely walk in nature.
In terms of weaknesses, there were some minor issues mentioned in the comments. One customer mentioned waiting nearly 40 minutes for the food, although they acknowledged that it was worth the wait due to the quality of the homemade food. While this could be seen as a positive aspect, some customers may view the wait time as a downside, especially if they are in a hurry or have limited time.
Another customer mentioned that the ciabatta in their steak sandwich was not toasted and was extremely dry, making it difficult to eat. This indicates a lack of attention to detail in the preparation of the dish. Additionally, the customer suggested adding fried onions to enhance the flavor, but this option was not offered. These issues suggest that there may be occasional inconsistencies in the preparation and presentation of certain dishes.
One comment mentioned a desire for slightly more custard on the crumble dessert. While this is a minor complaint, it shows that some customers may have specific preferences for certain elements of their meals.
Overall, the strengths of The Three Crowns Inn are its exceptional service, high-quality food, generous portion sizes, lovely decor and atmosphere, family-friendly environment, and convenient location. The weaknesses include occasional longer wait times for food, inconsistencies in dish preparation and presentation, and minor issues with specific elements of certain dishes. Despite these weaknesses, the overall customer feedback is positive, indicating that the strengths outweigh the weaknesses.

Really well done to Owners, Chef and Staff. I was honestly expecting basic pub food and service but this really was top-notch! From food, service and value for money ! It really was a great experience.
Great. Generous portion of roast beef on my Sunday dinner. However .. THE best Yorkshire pudding I've ever had including the ones I make myself and mine are yummy ! Staff were great. Lovely change for me and my daughter stopping on our walk today. Thanks !
First time coming on Saturday.
Lovely decor, great atmosphere, lovely server's.
Food, waited short of 40 minutes. Why? This is where others would moan, ( because it is all homecooked food. ) and it certainly is worth the wait. Tieing in with the Kings arms on grains Road for food standard and presentation. I now have a new favourite.
Also as a family I dread going for food with my youngest as he can have meltdowns, not one eyelid batted, or a word said so thank you.we managed to stay the full meal!
Great work! And hats off to the chef.
Tried light lunch which was good value for price. Good size portions but ideally slightly more custard needed on the crumble.
Steak on the ciabatta was tasty and good portion but spoilt because ciabatta wasn't toasted and so extremely dry to eat ( I couldn't eat it) would have liked fried onions ( but not offered) but skin on fries were yummy. Overall recommend it.
King prawn starter was lovely, chicken liver pate excellent,
Rag pudding and chips, mushy peas very nice ample portion even off the light lunch menu.
Gammon and hullumi fries very nice.
Sticky toffee pudding and custard. For dessert
Excellent.

Staff pleasant and welcoming.
Recommend the light lunch menu.
Great value for money.
Lovely location with public footpaths into the countryside only a few feet away . Car parking. Wonderful freindly staff. The drinks were perfect both with flavour and cool temperature ( smooth Tetleys and white wine ) a varied choice on the menu with our chosen dishes both being very enjoyable . I only did this review because i have visited it a few times and it deserves full credit
