Quick Facts About The Yeovil Court Hotel
The Yeovil Court Hotel has a mix of strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. It is important to consider these factors when evaluating the overall quality and value of the hotel.
Starting with the strengths, guests have praised the cleanliness of the hotel. The rooms, including the suite, are described as very clean and comfortable. This contributes to a positive guest experience and shows that the hotel maintains a high level of cleanliness.
Additionally, the hosts are noted for being welcoming and helpful. This indicates that the hotel values customer service and goes out of its way to ensure guests feel welcome and supported during their stay. There is also a mention of the staff providing excellent service and investing in the service they provide, showing a commitment to catering to guests' needs.
Another strength is the food served at the hotel, particularly the breakfast. Guests have mentioned enjoying the breakfast and finding it to be good quality, piping hot, and plentiful. There is even a mention of the best risotto ever tasted. This suggests that the hotel offers a satisfying dining experience and provides well-prepared meals.
However, there are several weaknesses that need to be addressed by the hotel. One major concern is the noise level in the front rooms due to the hotel being situated right on the road. This can be disruptive and impact the quality of sleep for guests. The hotel should consider taking measures to soundproof these rooms or offer alternative options for guests who are sensitive to noise.
The overall state of the hotel is also a significant weakness. Multiple comments mention that the hotel is "tired" and in desperate need of refurbishment. This suggests that the hotel may not meet modern standards and may not provide a visually appealing or up-to-date environment for guests. A refurbishment would likely address issues like worn-out furnishings and dated decor, improving the overall guest experience.
Another weakness that is mentioned is the lack of attention to cleanliness in some areas. One comment states that it feels like the rooms and communal spaces have not been cleaned in years. This raises concerns about hygiene and suggests that the hotel needs to prioritize cleanliness and implement regular cleaning schedules to avoid such negative perceptions.
In terms of room amenities, there are several issues that need to be addressed. Guests mention uncomfortable beds with mattresses being too soft and pillows being too flat. This indicates the need for better quality mattresses and pillows to ensure a good night's sleep for guests. Other issues include torn and stained duvet covers, weak and inadequate power showers, and poor bathroom lighting. These issues can greatly impact guest comfort and satisfaction and should be addressed to improve the overall experience.
There is also a negative comment regarding the hotel's organization and service. One guest experienced issues with their room reservation and had to spend considerable time in the lobby trying to resolve the situation. This lack of organization and communication is concerning and suggests that the hotel needs to improve its systems and ensure efficient and effective guest communication.
Lastly, there is a mention of a disappointing dining experience, with the room door not locking properly, a wait time for food, and issues with the quality and preparation of the meal. This indicates a lack of organization and attention to detail in the hotel's restaurant and bar operations, which can be disappointing for guests seeking a satisfying dining experience.
In summary, The Yeovil Court Hotel has strengths in terms of cleanliness, welcoming hosts, and good-quality food. However, the weaknesses highlighted in the comments include noise issues, a tired and outdated appearance that requires refurbishment, cleanliness concerns, uncomfortable beds and inadequate amenities, organizational and communication issues, and a disappointing dining experience. Addressing these weaknesses would greatly improve the overall quality and value of the hotel.

stayed for one night in the suite, very clean and comfortable though the bed was a bit too soft for me. lovely breakfast in the morning, hosts were very welcoming and helpful. bar prices were a bit on the steep side but overall would stay there again
Hotel is right on the road, so very noisy in the front rooms. The whole hotel is very 'tired' and is in desperate need of a refurbishment. Mattress was not good, even the pillows were so flat that there were two per pillowcase!!
Breakfast was OK, but could easily be a lot better.
Very expensive for what you get.
The room although quite spacious was very plain more like you would expect from a holiday camp in the seventies. We were situated In an adjacent building to the main hotel. There was a very large car park at the back of this building which made unloading bags very easy. The cooked breakfast was ok.
Booked a deluxe room for 1 night, Price 100 pounds.
Upon entering the room, i felt we were cheated, this is most definitely not a 100 pounds room. Looks more like a 45 pound room.
Double bed, contains two single mattresses.
The pillow are cheap and tacky, two pillows in one pillowcase which makes it very hard and thick so uncomfortable to sleep.
The are two Velux windows, one for the living room area with blackout curtains, and one in the bedroom area but this seems to have a tablecloth for curtains, which means light comes through in the morning directly above the bed . Sleeping without any light being blocked doesn't really allow you to sleep in.
The bathroom has a very noisy fan, and you can hear the fan of neighboring rooms very loudly.
Neighbors can clearly be heard having conversations.
Duvet cover had a tear in it, as well as having a bloodstain.
The shower is a power shower on a sad bath with a curtain. The power shower hardly delivers any water. The soap from the soap dispenser is offering more water than soap.
There are two separate taps on the basin, either burn or be cold.
The linoleum floor in the bathroom is coming off on the edges.
The light in the bathroom is so weak and greenish adding a sense of misery that is suited for a horror movie like "the shining".
It feels like the room and communal spaces have not been cleaned in years.
We will not be back.
Lovely hotel, staff are excellent and have really invested in the service they provide . It's spotlessly clean, in every way, the food is V good, piping hot and plentiful. I had the best risotto I've ever tasted here. The staff couldn't do enough for us without exception. Top quality Customer service is definitely an achievement of this hotel
I made a reservation at this hotel, drove for 2+ hours, and when I arrived they said they don't have any rooms available. I have now spent nearly 2 hours in their lobby to get my money back and now I am looking for hotels that have availability on a 3-day weekend, so far no luck. The staff didn't bother calling any hotels for me at all they blame it on "system." This hotel is still showing availability online so be careful when booking to triple check with them that they actually have a room. And while waiting in the lobby it seems other people had communication issues as well.
Clean and tidy so I felt comfortable staying during the covid epidemic. Lack of power points for charging work kit but out weighed by a fantastic friendly and helpful gent on the front desk. A lovely welcome and absolutely wonderful treatment
Arrived after a 12 hour shift that was a disaster. Was hoping this place was going to cheer me up with a nice meal
Firstly the room door wouldn't lock, was then told I need to lock it from the inside.I ordered a pint and got half, Had to wait an hour and ten mins for our food. During this time food was being returned to the kitchen uncooked. That was a worry. When it did arrive it was over cooked but I ate it as I was starving and didn't want to wait any longer. Very disappointed. Won't stay again seemed Very unorganised
