Quick Facts About Windsor Arms
The Windsor Arms place has several strengths that make it a popular choice among locals and visitors alike. One of its biggest strengths is its traditional pub atmosphere, complete with real ales. This appeals to patrons who appreciate the authenticity and charm of an old-fashioned pub experience. The pub is also known for its welcoming and friendly publicans, who go out of their way to make guests feel comfortable and at home. This personal touch adds to the overall appeal of the establishment.
Another strength of the Windsor Arms is its accommodation of well-behaved dogs. This is a major plus for dog owners who want to bring their furry friends along for a drink or meal. The fact that dogs are allowed on the right side of the bar shows a commitment to inclusivity and making all patrons feel welcome. This feature sets the Windsor Arms apart from other pubs that may not be as dog-friendly.
The quality of the food served at the Windsor Arms is also highly praised. Several comments mention the excellent food, with one guest even describing it as a "hidden gem". The fact that the pub offers traditional pub food on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, as well as a Sunday lunch, demonstrates a commitment to providing consistent quality meals for patrons. The positive feedback about the food adds to the overall appeal of the pub.
Several comments mention the warm and homely feel of the Windsor Arms. This is an important strength as it indicates that the pub has successfully created a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Guests appreciate the friendly and welcoming staff, which contributes to the warm ambiance. The pub also offers a skittle alley, providing additional entertainment for guests and making it an appealing destination for families with children. This adds to the overall appeal and value of the establishment.
The Windsor Arms is also praised for its excellent choice of drinks. The pub offers local real ales, exceptional Guinness, and a range of other drinks. This variety ensures that guests have options that cater to their specific tastes, adding to the overall enjoyment of their visit. The quality and selection of the drinks enhance the overall experience at the pub.
Despite its many strengths, the Windsor Arms does have some weaknesses that should be addressed to further improve the overall experience. One comment mentions that the menu could use updating as it felt limited in variety. Expanding the menu to offer a wider range of options would cater to different tastes and dietary preferences, making the pub more appealing to a broader range of customers.
Another comment mentions that although the staff is friendly and the service is generally quick, there is room for improvement. This suggests that there may be instances where the service is not as prompt or attentive as guests would prefer. Addressing any inconsistencies in service quality would help ensure a consistently positive experience for all patrons.
Overall, the Windsor Arms place has several strengths that make it a highly regarded pub. Its traditional pub atmosphere, welcoming staff, dog-friendly policy, excellent food, and varied drink selection contribute to its appeal. However, addressing weaknesses such as menu variety and service consistency would further enhance the overall experience and strengthen the pub's reputation as a must-visit establishment in Bradiford.

Traditional pub with real ales. Publicans are very welcoming and friendly. Well behaved dogs allowed in the bar, on the right as you enter. Good traditional pub food, Friday to Sunday and Sunday lunch.
Fantastic little hidden gem, landlord was very accomodating and the food was excellent, a very homely feel.
The Windsor Arms is a small pub in Bradiford, a village on the edge of Barnstaple. It is simply one of the friendliest warm and welcoming old fashioned real pubs we have been in. Great pub food over the weekend. Local real ales, exceptional Guinness, and some great local characters who made us and our dog very welcome. The landlord and lady go out their way to go the extra mile to make it a most enjoyable experience and the skittle alley was an extra bonus for our grandsons
Local, friendly pub. Two sides of the pub to separate 'bar' side from the dining room (dogs allowed in the bar but not the dining room). Skittles alley out the back and a covered outside area with fireplaces to keep you warm in winter. Plenty of space for events of ~50 people. Great food and even offer BBQ.
Great welcoming pub, would definitely visit again. They could do with updating their menu as it felt like there wasn't much of a variety. The staff are friendly and the service was pretty quick.
Went for a sunday roast and it didnt dissapoint. My daughter is very fusy about her food but the roast got 8 out of 10 which shot up to 9 and 3/4 when she was allowed to go off menu and order the chocolate brownie for dessert
