Quick Facts About Yatra the indian cafe

Yatra, the Indian café place, has received a range of positive and negative comments from customers. It is important to analyze these comments to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the establishment.
Starting with the strengths, one recurring theme in the comments is the quality and taste of the food. Customers consistently mention that the food is fresh, delicious, and authentic. They appreciate the new and interesting flavors that are offered, and are particularly impressed with the dosas and chaat dishes. The dosas, in particular, are highlighted as a must-try item on the menu. The use of traditional ingredients and spices is also noted, contributing to the overall deliciousness of the food. Additionally, the establishment is commended for catering to specific dietary requirements. One customer mentions that the staff were knowledgeable about citrus allergies and were able to suggest suitable options on the menu. This flexibility and accommodation of dietary restrictions is seen as a strength.
Another strength mentioned in the comments is the value for money. Customers appreciate the reasonable prices of the dishes, particularly in relation to the portion sizes. One customer notes that a large starter or side dish alone would be filling enough for a meal. This affordability and generous serving sizes contribute to the overall positive dining experience.
The ambiance and décor of the establishment receive mixed reviews. Some customers mention that the place doesn't have a great ambiance for a date night, while others appreciate the casual and relaxed café-style setting. It is worth noting that those who prioritize the food over the ambiance view this as a strength, as they are willing to overlook the less impressive interior for the sake of excellent food.
In terms of weaknesses, one common complaint is the service. Some customers mention that there is only one person taking orders and cooking, resulting in long wait times. It is also mentioned that the staff prioritizes take-away orders over in-house dining, causing frustration for those dining in. Additionally, the noise and smoke from the cooking area are mentioned as factors that negatively impact the dining experience. These issues with service and ambiance contribute to a less-than-ideal experience for some customers.
There are also a few comments about specific dishes not meeting expectations. One customer mentions that the Paani Puri was cold and not crunchy, suggesting that the dish was not prepared to the desired standards. Another customer expresses disappointment with the biryani, noting that the taste was not authentic and the meat was dry. These instances could be viewed as weaknesses in terms of consistency and quality control.
In conclusion, Yatra, the Indian café place, has several strengths including delicious and authentic food, accommodation of dietary restrictions, and reasonable prices. However, there are also weaknesses regarding service, ambiance, and consistency in the preparation of certain dishes. Overall, it seems that those who prioritize the quality of the food are more likely to overlook these weaknesses and have a positive experience at Yatra.

I love this little place . The food is full of beautiful very new flavours for me . I am not big fan of hot food but the guy is happy to adjust some of the dishes .
Place itself doesn’t look that great for date night but if you are not bother about the interior and you are looking for excellent food this is your place to eat or grab yourself take away .
5 starts from me !
Ps : only managed to take one photo as we eat is so fast ????
This is my favourite Indian eatery in the local area as it serves dosas and chaat (Indian Street food dishes) which are very moreish... All served to order and very reasonably priced... Wonderfully delicious menu on offer and things you must try are the dosas which are a thin batter-based pancake originating from South India, made from a fermented batter predominantly consisting of lentils and rice (usually the ingredients are rice and black gram, ground together in a fine, smooth batter with a dash of salt, then fermented), these are served plain or stuffed with fillings of vegetables and sauces to make a quick meal accompanied along with chutney by tradition and sambar... and also dahi puri, a type of chaat consisting of mini-puri shells (golgappa) stuffed with spiced mashed potato with sweet tamarind chutney poured into the shell on top of the stuffing, yoghurt is generously poured into the shell, and the finished product is garnished with sprinklings of crushed sev (small pieces of crunchy noodles made from chickpea flour paste)... DELICIOUS!
Delicious. Really fresh and tasty. Very impressed and so glad we tried it out.
We went here for lunch. I can't eat citrus and the staff were brilliant and went through what I could eat and what adjustments they could make.
The food was absolutely delicious, very authentic, I also had a fabulous masala chai (ended up ordering 2 they were so nice).
It is great value for money - due to the quantity and taste. A large starter / side dish was £3.50 - this alone would have been filling enough
Definitely recommend here.
This is a gem of a place, offering the freshest casual India food - samosa chaat is out of this world, so are the curries and dosas. And the best masala chai I’ve had outside of India. Only downside is the service is on the slow side, but it is more than made up by the freshness and quality of the food.
Visited Yatra after reading the positive review but had bad experience.
There was just one guy who did both cooking and taking orders which made us wait a long time even before provided us a seat and it continued throughout.
Constantly serving the take away orders and annoyingly, the take away delivery guy was loud, a complete disregard for the dinners.
There was too much smoke from cooking and that made us cough many times and spoil the dining experience.
The Paani Puri we ordered came cold and not crunchy as the puri seems very old and with very little paani.
The biryani was another disaster with the taste not authentic. The meat was dry and again seems made a long time back.
It was funny that they a gave papodam as a side with Biryani in same plate.
Overall, I felt cheated by the positive reviews or me being there at the wrong time.
The food is fresh and delicious. Staff always very friendly. Great place for a takeaway or for an informal cafe style sit in meal.
Absolutely fantastic!! Proper, authentic and really delicious chaat and dosas… finally, Tunbridge Wells (well, Southborough) has been blessed!
