Quick Facts About Amy's Nails Bar
Amy's Nails Bar has received a range of mixed comments, with some positive aspects mentioned, but several glaring weaknesses that should be addressed. In this analysis, we will explore the strengths and weaknesses of Amy's Nails Bar based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, some customers mentioned the friendliness of the technicians. One review stated that the lady who did their nails was super sweet, which indicates a positive customer service experience. Another positive aspect mentioned was the wide selection of nail polish colors available. This suggests that customers have options when it comes to choosing their preferred color.
However, the weaknesses of Amy's Nails Bar are more significant and encompass various aspects of the business. In terms of the quality of service, multiple comments indicated that cuticles were cut too deeply, leading to bleeding. This is a significant concern as it shows a lack of attention to detail and proper technique during the manicure process. Furthermore, one customer mentioned that their nails were longer than requested, indicating a failure to meet customer preferences.
Hygiene is another area where Amy's Nails Bar falls short. One customer reported that the instruments used were not individually packaged, which raises concerns about proper sterilization and sanitation protocols. This is a major issue, especially for a business that deals with potential infection risks.
Several comments also mentioned rushing through services and inadequate attention to detail. One individual mentioned that their pedicure was rushed and lacked a massage, which is a common component of a pedicure service. This indicates a lack of thoroughness and attention to customer satisfaction.
Additionally, communication barriers were highlighted in some comments. It was mentioned that some employees had difficulty understanding customers' requests, resulting in frustration and the need for repetition. This indicates a need for improved communication skills and a better understanding of customer needs.
The condition of the salon itself was also criticized, with one customer describing it as dirty and run-down. This reflects negatively on the overall atmosphere and may create an uncomfortable experience for customers.
Lastly, there were several issues regarding the ability to fulfill requested designs. One customer mentioned being assured that a specific design could be done but then being told to wait for a different technician who was busy with another client. This lack of organization and miscommunication resulted in the customer not receiving the desired design. This reflects poorly on the salon's ability to manage customer expectations and fulfill their requests.
In conclusion, Amy's Nails Bar has several weaknesses that should be addressed to improve the overall customer experience. These weaknesses include issues with cuticle cutting, hygiene practices, rushed services, communication barriers, salon condition, and fulfilling requested designs. It is crucial for the business to focus on addressing these weaknesses in order to provide a higher standard of service and ensure customer satisfaction.

I went here recently with a friend. They cut my cuticles way too deep and three or four of my fingers were bleeding during the process. Along side this, there’s nail polish on my cuticles, and the length is longer than I asked for. The lady who did my nails was super sweet but kept jumping between me and another person so often I was waiting 10 or so minutes so to be finished which made the entire process take well over an hour and a half or so. The technicians are super sweet, but they file your cuticles way too much and then go in with acetone which leads to burning. I would recommend going somewhere else if you wanna save your skin and money.
By far the worst pedicure I've ever had. Rushed, no massage, and the place was dirty and run down. Not one employee was friendly, in fact they looked at me and my sister like we were poison, the water was cold the whole time, The woman couldn't understand 1 thing I said so I kept having to repeat myself if I had a question. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! This place is a joke. Want a good pedicure? Take a ride to Kingston and go to creative nails. Best place on the south shore.
Edit response to owner; first of all how do you even know who I am because this account is private? And I wrote this review several weeks after I got the pedicure. Second of all you're making it sound like I have something against Vietnamese people and that's absolutely not the case because of regular place that I go to the woman also has a very strong accent but she's patient and talks slowly so I can understand her and she does not rush me to get out She takes her time with massages and is extremely friendly to everybody that walks in the door. I do not leave bad reviews unless I absolutely have to I always give people the benefit of the the doubt because I work in retail myself..
Do NOT come here if you value basic hygiene. I got a gel manicure on Friday 6/25 from Amy. Not only did she cut my cuticles so deeply that I was bleeding during the manicure, but I ended up with a severely infected finger which led to an abscess. The instruments were not individually packaged or opened in front of me, as a nurse I should have noticed this. By Sunday morning my finger looked like this (see below pictures) and required a trip to urgent care on my weekend off from the hospital. $100 copay and $25 antibiotics to treat the infection — this manicure ended up costing me a total of $157 ($27 for the manicure and a $5 tip because I was trying to support a small local business). Save yourself time, money and pain and go elsewhere.
After coming here for 5 months, I ended up with a fungus on my left and right big toe after having a different nail tech. I love Tam and her services, as she provides a great service! She always make sure my nails had no streaks and followed all sanitary protocols. I didn't appreciate how the attempts to say it was me who did this or that it was just the nail color coming off. No, my toenails had a fungus and caused my nailed to "crumble".
There has been no change in my daily lifestyle or eating habits that would cause my body to do something as such. I went in and my service that day was rushed. I do have my complaints on having to wait for 2 hours, but that does not mean rush through how you provide service or not follow proper sanitation protocols, thus extended my toenails foot fungus.
Amy did attempt to just say she will fix it, but afterwards how they were unconcerned with what I was saying I just bailed on the appointment. It is important I seek a doctor to fix my foot before going to get another pedicure.
My daughter loved her nails but two or three fingers where tender and cut from appt and roughness. Hoping next time she goes it's better. However the nails did look pretty .
I enjoy going to this nail salon! They are so nice & accommodating. I've seen 2 different nail techs so far and they've both done an amazing job considering I'm super picky when it comes to my acrylics! 5+ stars! Love my nail color - they have an endless selection of all kinds of nail polish.. the one I have on in the picture is "Flamingo Pink"
Sometimes they will rush doing my nails. They would not look nice and the person doing them would see the error and would not fix it. I feel like it's because I use I brace on my right hand, they just want to get it over with. I Don't feel comfortable at all anymore.
Wish I could give this place zero stars. Before the nail tech even started, I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she ASSURED me that they could do it. I wanted a light pink/neutral color with a small red heart designed on my nails. I specifically asked if they could do this design which honestly was pretty simple and they agreed. After painting my nails the neutral color the nail tech told me she wouldn’t be doing the design and that I had to wait for the male nail tech to do my design. This man was in the middle of doing a full set of acrylic nails and obviously was not going to be done any time soon. Another woman attempted to do the hearts on my nails, but it came out very bad and honestly didn’t even look like a heart. I appreciated her attempt but they should have been honest with me from the start. Now I’m left with these extremely plain light pink nails with no design since I could not wait another hour for the male tech to finally get to me. I’m dissatisfied and disappointed that I wasted my time. If They had been honest I would have just decided to do a solid fun color that I actually liked and that they could ACTUALLY complete. I am never going back to this place.
