Quick Facts About Bay Hill Nails & Tan
Bay Hill Nails & Tan has received a mix of positive and negative comments, highlighting both strengths and weaknesses of the place. In this analysis, we will evaluate these comments to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the salon.
One of the recurring issues mentioned in the comments is the poor quality of service provided by the staff. Multiple customers complained about the roughness of the nail technicians during a pedicure, resulting in pain and even injury. This is a significant weakness of the salon as it indicates a lack of training or attention to customer comfort. Additionally, the comments mention poor technique when applying gel manicures and improper removal of gel polish, resulting in damaged and weak nails. These issues further demonstrate a lack of skill and attention to detail, affecting the overall quality of service.
Another weakness that stands out from the comments is the apparent lack of cleanliness and hygiene practices at Bay Hill Nails & Tan. Customers mentioned concerns about the sterilization of tools, with one commenter noting that they did not witness any tools being opened from new packages or a clean set being used. The absence of proper sterilization procedures raises potential health risks, including the possibility of infection. This is a significant weakness as cleanliness is a critical aspect of any salon, particularly for services involving contact with the skin and nails.
Furthermore, there were comments about the unprofessional behavior of the staff. Customers observed employees shouting at each other and stacking chairs while attending to customers. This lack of professionalism can create a negative atmosphere and contribute to an overall unpleasant experience for customers.
However, among the negative comments were a few positive ones. Customers praised specific nail technicians for their expertise, professionalism, and knowledge. These positive comments indicate that there are individuals within the salon who are capable of providing high-quality service. This could be seen as a strength, suggesting that there is a potential for improvement if the salon focuses on hiring and training skilled staff members consistently.
Lastly, there were comments about the appointment system and waiting times. Several customers complained about their appointments not being honored or having to wait excessively. This issue suggests a weakness in the salon's ability to manage appointments effectively, leading to customer dissatisfaction and potential time wastage.
In conclusion, Bay Hill Nails & Tan has several weaknesses that need to be addressed. These include poor quality of service, lack of cleanliness and hygiene practices, unprofessional behavior, and issues with the appointment system. While there were a few positive comments about specific employees, the overall feedback indicates a need for improvement. By addressing these weaknesses and focusing on hiring skilled staff and implementing proper hygiene practices, Bay Hill Nails & Tan has the potential to provide a better experience for their customers.

I tried Bay Hill nails for the first time and got my eyebrows waxed. The woman waxed way too low and now I have burns and raw skin. She waxed far below my obvious brow line under both eyebrows. It’s very painful and sensitive. Would not recommend waxing services here. I will not be getting my eye brows waxed there again. I just hope my skin heals soon and normally.
Went here because my neighborhood nail salon is closed Monday’s. Worse experience ever, they’re not the nicest, the worse part was during my pedi she hurt me twice’!! I legit yelled ouch ouch! Pulled away and she said dirty, yet did it again to another toe…Like she was so Incredibly rough the whole time, I just had a pedi last month so no need for all the roughness. This morning I woke up to a red, swollen, painful toe!! It was one of the toes she hurt. I pray they sterilize all the tools they use (like most places), but the truth is I never saw her open a sterilized package or grab a clean set from somewhere, she just had the tools in a little bucket. That should have been my first sign, and should have told my friend to leave. Praying I don’t end up with an infection. Do yourself a favor go get pampered somewhere they won’t hurt you and use clean tools! Like color nails in Cape , isn’t too far and they have been great.
My fault. I should not have gone back. I went there before and did not like the ambiance thought it was not too clean before. Okay, I came back a few times recently for gel manicure and normal pedicure. The lady with long hair who did my pedi and gel manicure before was professional and did a good job. And that was the only one and only time. I went back for another gel mani and the lady called Luna ripped my nails off basically when trying to remove the gel. I asked her not to file them so much and so hard. She completely ignored me and kept doing it. Barely used acetone. Filed even more. The manicure was also horrible with lots of cuticles and polish not applied correctly. 4 days later I started to have several nails chipping and breaking because she filed them paper thin. The gel also did not last.
Then yesterday happened (pictures bellow). I did not want to go back there (I had to go to another place to have them removing their gel carefully and had to keep my nails from any service for 3 weeks to try to recover them- they all kept breaking and chipping all over because of the damaged their service caused- that never happened to my nails before).
I had to go there because they close later. I got an appointment but unfortunately they had Luna doing my nails again. I considered not doing it but I wanted to give another chance plus I was not doing gel this time in order to protect my nails.
I asked her to trim my toe nails square. The cut the big toe nail all round in that perfect way to have it ingrown. I asked her if she could fix it, she did something else. Pedicure was fine otherwise.
Then mani… oh my god. I asked her not to file the top of my nails (the nails themselves not the tip where you file after cutting) because they were so damaged and thin from before (btw by her doing…). Of course, she got a block file and roughly filed them after I asked not to.
Cuticles? Try to look at the pictures. She put my nails on a very cold water bowl. They poorly removed the cuticles. I kindly asked her to remove obvious cuticles left on several nails. She said and I quote “Oh I removed already a lot” pointing to her tool and to other fingers completely ignoring all the fingers left horribly. I was still clearly discontent because the cuticles were horrible, uncomfortable and visible. She kept going.
Nail polish? Oh my god. She applied them so poorly. Leaving big and uneven gaps between the nail and finger, did not applied correctly on several spots and most of the tops are already coming off. She also applied the second coat not covering several parts off the first which I had to point to her and she unwillingly fixed some.
The top coat was also not applied fully and she messed with one nail and left it defective.
She did not applied moisturizer or anything, I later asked for some and she said she forgot.
Meanwhile they were sometimes screaming at each other and stacking chairs on top of tables while she was starting my manicure.
Horrible service, quality, ambience, and experience after she already causes so much damage to my nails before.
But my fault in coming back and accepting that lady to do my nails again.
Never going back. You can get a hundred times better service for the same price nearby or even better in many places in Annapolis.
Do not recommend.
Why bother making an appointment when they don’t respect your time and see you late?
I’ve been there 3 times. The first and second time I was lucky enough to get an appointment right at opening so I was seen & it’s 5 minutes down the road from where I live . The last time I was there I had a mid morning appointment & was waiting for almost 30 minutes before being seen. What made it worse was another woman came in about 15 minutes after I got there, with a later appointment then me & was seen right away.
I decided to tough it out & wait, & I got a gentleman for the first time there & he did a terrible job. He rushed through, cut my nails shorter then I asked, & seemed annoyed when I kept asking him to do more coats of polish when I saw my nails were very opaque. I left with opaque nails & was not happy with the whole experience.
Mindy is the BEST when it comes to using dip powders! We found my spirit sparkle and I love it!
I went here to get a pedicure a few weeks ago but after a few days I realized the side of my toe irritated and it hurt badly. It started to get worse and it got very infected. It wouldn’t go away so I went to another nail place to get it looked at. They said whoever cut my nail cut way too much off the side and I also was cut from them. Now Its infected and I have to wait for it to heal and grow back. I don’t recommend going here i’ve had two bad experiences. Luckily mine didn’t get horrible but it could have, my new nail salon said people can lose a toe from this incident.
I’ve been there multiple times and every time they have been professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Answered all of my questions about acrylics vs dip. They did an amazing job on my nails!
Would not recommend this nail salon. The tools did not seem to be sanitized before using them. The tub has a liner but I think they reuse them and didn't fully clean between pedicures. The guy that did my pedicure was rude and very rushed and seemed like he couldn't wait to finish my pedicure. Plus his nail were long and hurt when he was giving the "massage" part. One of the worst pedicure experiences I've had.
