Terrible experience!! I have never experienced anything like this place. The stylist is very unprofessional chatting in their native language like it's no such thing as a translator on iPhones. I suffer postpartum hair loss and I have never felt as uncomfortable in my life. Not only is this place a ghetto mess, but it’s also full of scammers who try to get away with any extra dollar they can. It’s no way possible you charge people with different hair types the same rates. You determine rates based on the hair type not what feels right for your pockets. Lastly, I had to sit two hours in a no A/C establishment and they were not even offering the customers cold water.
Bebe has been braiding my hair even prior to getting her own salon. She has years of braiding experience and is definitely a veteran in the braid game. If there are ever any concerns with our services, she does her due diligence to get them handled and made right unlike many other salons. We will always patronize you! Thanks again.
I sat in the chair for 6 hours for box braids . I wasn’t offer anything. I ask how long after the 4 hours I was told a small piece left after it was 3 hours.. The owner didn’t say anything the whole time only about mask when she first arrived.. However I booked with with Bebe and never got her
Bebe Hair Braiding salon has been the best salon that I've been to. Their prices compared to other salons that I've been to are very cheap. Some people complain that the prices are to high but the price depends on what hair style you get. They are professionals and braid quality hair. Every time I got my hair done, it always lasted long. How long the hair lasts doesn't depend on HOW it was braided but how you TAKE CARE OF IT. And the complaints about them taking food breaks? Everybody needs to eat. These people work all day and you get mad when they take 20 minutes to eat? Keep in mind that they come to work at around 6 and sometimes leave at 12. Bebe Hair Braiding is an excellent place to get your hair done and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants their hair done.
So let me just start by saying this was thee WORSE hair experience of my life!!! Do not believe these “good reviews”. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re writing them themselves or have family doing it. Let’s start with how I called Bebe and asked the price it would be for my butterfly locs. She told me it would be $185 over the phone. I even texted a picture of the style to confirm and lock in the appointment and pricing. Again, she said $185. So I arrive there before my appointment and instantly I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. They were all looking so mean like I had done something to them. I wish I had left right then. But I stayed. Then, they look at my hair and they’re like “you’re natural? Oh your hair is too long for the bob style it’s gonna have to be longer locs so that’s $250.” Not once did she mention prior that it’s extra for length. Very unprofessional for a BUSINESS! Then to make matters worse, she tells me the hair I had wasn’t enough hair. Keep in mind I didn’t want long locs to begin with. So I basically got a hairstyle I didn’t want. I wanted a bob. My hair is long, but that is a lie! You can still wear a braided bob with long hair I’ve done it plenty of times with no problem. But I went anyways and got more hair, on top of already having to pay way more for the style. So I get the hair and they start on my hair. It was so hot in there and they don’t even allow you to take your mask off for a millisecond to take a quick breath. So you’re continuously having to stop to go outside just to get fresh air. Not to mention how anytime you ask one of them can you take a break or anything in general, they have an attitude. But I’m still staying positive. There were two people on my hair and I was expecting that to cut the time in half.NO! I was there until 9 that night and I had came at 10 that morning! By the time they were halfway done I was beyond annoyed! I had missed two important appointments dealing with them. Not to mention halfway through one of them was like this still isn’t enough hair. If I have to use another pack of hair it’s going to be extra. I was so angry and ready for this nightmare to end. So then they tell me I can pay and they’re not even done with my head. So I’m looking at my hair like “I hope this isn’t how it’s gonna look when it’s finished.” I’ve never been to a hair salon that makes you pay BEFORE the work is complete. So that alone was shady to me. But it gets better, once she finished my hair, I could not even stand up! My head was so tight! It hurt me to even breathe, literally. I asked her if she could loosen a few in the front because I had bulges on my forehead. I was thinking that Would make it better. Boy was I wrong. I could not sleep at all! The pain went from a little to unbearable and excruciating! My entire scalp was red and swollen so badly. I texted her that night to let her know I was not satisfied at all. And she texted back the next morning and told me to come back so they could loosen them. You really think I’m about to come back and trust you all in my hair again? Had it been done right the first time I wouldn’t have to come back for you to fix it. I told her I would’ve much rather prefer a partial refund because the pain was so intense. It lasted almost 5 days. And now I’m on day 9 and my head is still a bit sore in certain spots and it’s extremely itchy and has tension bumps all over my scalp. So you’re wondering should you go to this salon? Well If you don’t care about your hair and scalp and spending extra money you didn’t plan on spending, be my guest.
Back for a monthly update: My hair is unraveling now after a month...
The shop is clean and well kept. The owner is very professional. I have been going to this shop for over 5 years and my children's hair has been beautiful. The whole shop is also very patient with children. The adults that get their hair done also have very nice braids!
I truly appreciate them for taking the time out to do my hair. I was given a good price price and hair was provided especially around the holiday season. However, while I was there I felt extremely uncomfortable being within their presence as no one bothered to talk to me, but they talked to each other within their own language of origin.
By the way they would talk and gesture when looking towards me, I could sense they were talking about me, but never addressed to me what it was they needed for me.
I was in the chair from mid-morning to when the sun went down, being in that chair was torturous, but apologized for the long service. There seemed to be a miscommunication with the size of my braids, as little hair was attached to each braid. 3 weeks later I noticed my hair in the back looked as if it was growing out (wrong!) They attached so little hair that the braid slipped out! This continued to happen with 3 more braids. Along my edges are the same way, to where I have to take them down because they were attached to baby hairs and small amounts of hair at my hair line. I am not pleased with the braids slipping of my hair.
They are really sweet women when it comes to you coming into the salon, but I would personally not go for braids, but would recommend their other services as I saw clients leaving with very beautiful hairstyles.
If you don't care to be talked to they will be just fine. But I like to make conversation too, not feel ignored and feel as if I'm a stranger at someone else's dinner table.
I have been getting my hair done by BeBe for several years. I have followed her when she moved shops because I didn't want to take a chance on going anywhere else. And I recommended my daughter to take my granddaughter there. I have always been happy with the results. The price is good and I have never had an issue.
