Quick Facts About Blue Anchor Reigate
The Blue Anchor Reigate Place has several strengths based on the comments provided.
One of its main strengths is its friendly atmosphere and staff. Many comments mention the friendly locals and staff, which suggests that the pub has a welcoming and warm environment. This type of atmosphere can greatly enhance the overall experience for customers and make them feel comfortable and at ease.
Another strength is the pub's location. It backs onto a cricket and football ground, offering amazing wide views. This attractive feature allows customers to enjoy the scenery while having a drink or meal at the pub. Additionally, the proximity to the Pilgrim brewery also adds to the pub's appeal as it provides a local and unique beer option for customers.
The food at the Blue Anchor Reigate Place is generally praised in the comments. It is described as good and the bar snacks, such as the Black Country pork scratchings, are noted as a nice touch. Good food is an important factor for many customers when choosing a pub, and positive comments regarding the food can greatly influence a customer's decision to visit or return to the establishment.
The pub's garden is also mentioned positively in the comments. It is described as large and overlooking a cricket pitch, which adds to the overall appeal of the pub. A spacious and well-maintained garden can be a major draw for customers, especially in the summer months when outdoor seating is in high demand.
Despite its strengths, the Blue Anchor Reigate Place does have some weaknesses that are mentioned in the comments. One of the main weaknesses is the slow service. Several comments mention that the service can be slow and that staff sometimes forget or fail to fulfill drink orders. Slow service can be frustrating for customers, especially during busy periods, and may result in a negative experience.
Another weakness mentioned is the limited beer choice. While some comments mention that the beer is good, others note that the beer choice is just okay. Having a diverse and varied beer selection can greatly enhance a pub's appeal and attract a wider range of customers.
The food timings are also mentioned as a weakness in one comment. It is suggested that the food timings could be better, and that a small portion of chips or similar would be appreciated. Neglecting food timings and not providing popular menu items can lead to customer dissatisfaction and may result in customers choosing to eat elsewhere.
Additionally, the closing time of 11pm is seen as a weakness by one commenter. While it is noted that this closing time makes sense due to neighbors, it is still seen as upsetting. A limited closing time can restrict the amount of time customers have to enjoy the pub and may discourage some from visiting.
In conclusion, the Blue Anchor Reigate Place has several strengths such as its friendly atmosphere, scenic location, good food, and a spacious garden. However, there are also weaknesses like slow service, limited beer choice, and food timings that could be improved. Despite these weaknesses, the overall positive comments suggest that the strengths of the pub outweigh the weaknesses, making it a recommended and enjoyable place to visit in Reigate.

Nice locals bar with friendly people. Backs onto the cricket and football ground with amazing wide views. The local Pilgrim brewery (literally a few doors down) was on tap and made the start of our afternoon.
Black Country pork scratchings were a nice touch for bar snacks.
4 stars as food timings could be a bit better, as could of done with a small portion of chips or similar. However an excellent old time but lovely pub and if I'm back In the area I shall return.
Food is good lively pub staff are friendly sometimes very busy but very good, 11pm close is upsetting but makes sense due to neighbours. Amazing view of cricket pitch
Great atmosphere, good beer, genrrally well organised although service was very slow. Several times asked staff for drinks and then no one turned up at the table - otherwise it would be 5*
Good spot in the summer, backing onto a cricket field. Service can be slow, beer choice OK.
Good food, good service and impeccable pub garden, toilets included with a couple indoor TVs to watch the footy, f1, rugby etc etc. If you’re visiting Reigate this is a nice pub near the town centre and the park for easy access to parking.
Booked tables for a group of 14. Great location in beer garden overlooking a cricket pitch. We were all happy with service, drinks and food. Recommended.
Lovely pub, large garden at rear, that I didn't know was there, overlooking a cricket pitch, friendly staff, good food
Decent prices for Reigate, seems to very popular with young people; being one myself, it’s definitely my kind of atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and I absolutely adored the courtyard
