Quick Facts About Cabrelli's

Cabrelli's place, based on the comments provided, has a mix of strengths and weaknesses.
One of the strengths mentioned by a customer is the variety of choices on the menu. This suggests that Cabrelli's place offers a wide range of options for customers to choose from, which can be appealing for those who like having different choices. The comment also mentions the taste, indicating that the food is enjoyable. Another strength mentioned is the friendly staff, which contributes to a pleasant dining experience. A classic and quaint ambiance is also mentioned, which can create a charming atmosphere for customers.
However, several weaknesses are highlighted by other customers. One of the main weaknesses mentioned is the poor quality of the chips. Some customers describe the chips as disgusting, suggesting that they may have been reheated or not cooked properly. The appearance of the chips is also criticized, with one customer comparing them to being chewed up. Another complaint is the batter on the fish being too thick and not cooked properly. This suggests a lack of attention to detail in the cooking process, resulting in an unsatisfactory dish. The presence of a sweet taste in the oil is mentioned, indicating a potential issue with the oil used for frying.
Inconsistent quality is another weakness mentioned. One customer describes the fish as nice but the batter as soggy and oily. This inconsistency raises concerns about the overall quality control in the preparation of the dishes. Another customer mentions the dried-out chips, further emphasizing the issue of inconsistent quality.
Parking is mentioned as a potential weakness, as the on-curb off-road parking is usually full. This can be inconvenient for customers, potentially discouraging them from visiting if they cannot find a parking spot nearby.
On the other hand, positive experiences are also mentioned, such as the decent fish supper and nice chunky chips. This suggests that the quality of the food can vary depending on the individual visit. The homemade ice cream is also praised, indicating that there are some dishes that are well-prepared at Cabrelli's place.
Overall, Cabrelli's place has a mix of strengths and weaknesses. The variety of choices, friendly staff, and classic ambiance are positive aspects. However, the poor quality of the chips and batter, inconsistent quality, and parking issues are areas for improvement. Addressing these weaknesses could help Cabrelli's place improve their overall dining experience and attract more satisfied customers.

Best TL Reviews

Just got a sausage supper. Chips were disgusting, deffinetly reheats. Sausage was barely edible. Sure that was a reheat aswel. Won't be back that's for sure ????
Poor quality. Chips look like they've been chewed up then put in the box.
First and last visit
Tasty and plenty of choice. Yes the batter is thick but when you're eating immediately that's a bonus not a negative!
Popped in for some chips this afternoon whilst out walking. Chips were excellent.
Not sure what the bad reviews are about but I couldn’t knock his chips.
Unable to comment about the rest of the menu though.
Very nice looking classic quaint fish and chip shop. The staff are lovely and friendly.
There is on curb off road parking but it's usually full so might need to park next to the post office and walk.
I only got the fish (as that is what I would rate the most). The fish itself was nice, not amazing, just nice. However the batter was soggy thick and not crispy at all. The batter had soaked up a lot of oil and I ended up peeling the batter off it was just too soggy and oily. A sure sign that the oil is simply not hot enough when cooking.
I'm not sure if I was unlucky or if it was a one off but the oil tasted like something sweet was cooked in it. Again if the oil was hot enough that would not have happened.
All in all a nice place that might do other dishes nicely but there are other places in linlithgow that do a nicer battered fish.
5.50 for a decent fish supper, chips were nice and chunky. I see people complain about the smell of oil and food being drenched in oil... In a Fish and Chip shop, never!
It's a traditional shop, not changed in 40 plus year, I know what I'm getting from it though and that's good enough.
Chips dried out, batter on fish too thick and not cooked properly, smoked sausage had seen much better days. Went back a week later thinking their icecream must be better. Was just like frozen milk.. had to dump.
Special fish supper was tremendous. Lovely fish and two pieces made it amazing value. Homemade ice cream was also a big hit. Will be back!
