Quick Facts About Caffe Cristinacce
Caffe Cristinacce has several strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, the staff is consistently described as friendly and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere that customers appreciate. Additionally, the food is consistently praised for being fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. The professional service and excellent coffee are also mentioned as positive aspects of the experience.
Another strength of the cafe is its location and surroundings. Being situated near a canal with swans and other water birds adds to the ambiance and creates a pleasant view for customers. The option to purchase food to feed the swans and other birds is also mentioned as a special feature. The availability of private tables and convenient parking close to the establishment are also seen as positives.
However, there are a few weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One customer had a negative experience where they felt disappointed with the service. They mentioned that the cafe was smokey and smelled of burned fat. The food took a long time to arrive, and when it did, it was not satisfactory. The table felt sticky and the floor was wet, potentially creating a safety hazard. This negative experience and the unpleasant smell left a lasting negative impression, leading the customer to state that they would not be returning.
Another negative aspect mentioned by a customer is the requirement to pay for the meal halfway through the service. This policy was surprising and not consistent with standard practices. The customer felt that they were unfairly treated compared to other customers who were not required to pay at the same time and received a warmer welcome. This led to anger and a decision not to have a checkback on the food. This policy and inconsistent treatment of customers created a bad experience for this customer.
Another weakness mentioned is the temperature in the conservatory, where one customer felt it was freezing. This discomfort impacted their overall experience at the cafe. Additionally, this customer mentioned a greasy and stale smell in the cafe, which may be off-putting to some customers.
In conclusion, Caffe Cristinacce has several strengths, including friendly staff, tasty and reasonably priced food, professional service, and a pleasant location with a view of the canal and water birds. However, there are also some weaknesses, such as the potential for a smokey and burned fat smell, long waiting times for food, sticky tables, wet floors, an inconvenient payment policy, a lack of consistency in customer treatment, and temperature issues in the conservatory. These weaknesses could potentially impact the overall experience for some customers and should be addressed by the cafe management.

First time visiting here with my parents on my day off. Lovely friendly staff and fresh and tasty food at a reasonable price. Recommend and will be visiting again, hopefully when the weather gets warmer for a seat outside ????
It is a warm and welcoming place, lovely food, professionally served, coffee always hot, friendly professional staff.
Discreet private tables, parking a short distance from the door, swans and other water birds on the canal which can be seen from the tables, especially (our favourite) table number one or close up from the tables on the half covered veranda outside.
Little bags of food can also be purchased to feed the swans and the other water birds. A really special place in every way.
I'm quite sad to put this review on. I have frequented this establishment many times and have always been very satisfied but today I was most disappointed. I had booked a table for 3 for 1.00pm. We arrived 15 minutes early and were taken straight to a table and that's the only positive thing about the experience. On entering the cafe we noticed it was smokey and smelled of burned fat which in itself was very unpleasant. The waitress (who was pleasant) took our order within 5 minutes, 3 coffees, 2 paninis, cheese on toast and a portion of chips. The waitress asked for the chips to be cooked as she took our order at 12.50. The coffee was brought within a few minutes but we had to drink it straight away as the cafe was really cold. The remainder of our order took a further 35 minutes to arrive. The chips were only just warm, tasteless and quickly went cold. The table felt quite sticky and the floor was wet (probably due to condensation) and one of our party who has mobility issues slipped when getting out of her chair but luckily was able to save herself. Overall it was a very unpleasant experience and we came out smelling of burned fat. This establishment used to be a nice place to visit but we won't be returning. You need to do better.
Excellent food and also overlooking the River Don
Plenty of swans and a couple of mallards wanted to join me for lunch.
Unfortunately I had just finished before they arrived.
Apparently, it's also known as Swan Lake which is ideal for the location
I came in with my one year old and a friend on Saturday and we will never be back there again. As somebody who works in a café I can honestly say I am disappointed with how unfairly we were treated as customers. We were taken by surprise when the waitress asked us to pay the bill as she was serving our drinks and this was before we had our food. When we questioned that she said that this is a new policy that they do. Never heard of such thing in my life to pay for my meal halfway through service. Normally people pay their bills after they order either before they get their food and drink or after they finish eating and drinking but never halfway through service. Anyway we paid the bill but then we've noticed that other customers weren't treated like the way we were, not only they were paying their bills at the right time but also they had a warmer welcome than what we received when we walked through the door. This made us angry, needless to say we didn't have a checkback on the food. All in all this was a very bad experience so do not recommend this place.
Ok food. Service was good. We were sat in the conservatory and it was freezing. Only downside for me was that it smelt like a greasy cafe rife with stale, fatty cooking odours.
Good food and a nice friendly atmosphere easy to park the car within a few steps you're inside
