Local work boozer. Staff are impressively miserable to the degree that raising a smile seems like a major achievement. Visited this evening and waited 50 minutes for 3 pizzas. £6.80 for a pint of Moretti. The only thing going for it is the proximity to my desk after work!

Walked past this street so many times and never noticed The Windmill. Lovely pub with a light and airy feel. High tables, low tables, comfy chairs, sofas and a horseshoe bar - something for everyone.
The Italian-themed menu looked good and people seemed to be enjoying their food. I shall definitely try it.
Unfortunately there is currently a building site opposite which is a downside - although clearly outside of the pub’s control. Hopefully will upgrade my review to 5 stars after the construction is finished and I’ve eaten here.
Lovely food and atmosphere. Prices are fairly cheap, and the service is great. A gem in the middle of the city.
