Quick Facts About Camden Coffee Shop

Camden Coffee Shop is a place that has garnered mixed reviews from customers. While some praise it as a hidden gem with excellent coffee and friendly service, others criticize its unreliable opening hours and poor customer service. In order to provide a comprehensive assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the coffee shop, let us delve deeper into the comments.
Starting with the strengths, it is evident that many customers appreciate the quality of the coffee at Camden Coffee Shop. One customer mentions that they cannot drink any other store-bought coffee after trying the coffee from this shop. This indicates that the coffee is of a high standard and enjoyable to drink. Additionally, there are comments about the traditional roasting process and the use of manual kits. These elements contribute to the authenticity and craftsmanship of the coffee, making it appealing to coffee connoisseurs. Furthermore, the prices are described as reasonable for London, which is a positive aspect, especially considering the city's reputation for high prices.
Another strength of the coffee shop is the friendly and helpful owner. Many customers mention that the owner provides knowledgeable advice and assistance regarding the coffee beans. This personal touch creates a welcoming atmosphere and enhances the overall experience for customers. Some customers even express appreciation for the owner's dedication, describing him as a "living national treasure." This loyalty and admiration demonstrate a strong connection between the owner and the customers.
However, despite these strengths, there are also weaknesses that need to be addressed. One common complaint is the unreliable opening hours. Customers mention wasted journeys and makeshift signs on the door indicating unexpected closures. This inconsistency can be frustrating for customers who are eager to visit the coffee shop and indicates a lack of organization and professionalism. Furthermore, one customer states that they have given up on the shop due to these issues. The impact of such negative experiences on customer retention and reputation should not be underestimated.
Another weakness mentioned by a dissatisfied customer is the coffee's quality and the poor customer service. This customer claims that the coffee is not as good as it is hyped up to be, and the owner is unhelpful and secretive about the origins of the coffee beans. Transparency and communication are crucial in building trust with customers, and this incident raises concerns about the shop's commitment to these principles.
In conclusion, Camden Coffee Shop has several strengths, such as excellent coffee, friendly service, and affordable prices. The traditional roasting process and the owner's dedication also contribute to its appeal. However, the coffee shop faces weaknesses in terms of unreliable opening hours and poor customer service. These issues can negatively impact customer satisfaction and the shop's reputation. Addressing these weaknesses will be crucial for the long-term success and growth of Camden Coffee Shop.

This place is a hidden gem! I’ve been walking past it for months now on the way to ballet and I decided to stop by today. I just made a cuppa with my moka and it’s amazing! I can’t drink any other grocer/ Amazon bought ground coffee anymore. I’ll be back to try the rest of the blends. Looking forward to trying santos dark. And to the people complaining about the 70 year old man, he’s just doing his best. We all are. It’s cash only btw!
Excellent old style coffee roasters. Very traditional and good for tourists and locals alike.
They don't serve prepared coffee if that's you're after. It's a roaster that sells whole and ground coffee beans.
Roasting is done manually using traditional kits. There's a limited choice of coffee beans but that's more than enough for coffee connoisseurs.
Great coffee, but completely unreliable opening hours. Best not to waste time visiting in the morning as there will probably be a makeshift sign on the door, ‘closed till 12.30’. After 30 years of custom, have now had too many wasted journeys recently to this shop. Given up. I wish the shop all the best but you can’t run a business like this.
There’s a lot of hype around this store and frankly it’s not justified. The coffee isn’t that good for a start and the customer service is poor. The owner insists on cash only and when I asked him which regions his mountain blend came from, not an unreasonable question, he was coy and wouldn’t say. I wouldn’t be going there again. There are far better places, with better quality coffee and better service.
Whoops! Accidentally "liked" Javad's comments. Of course he's completely wrong - Camden Coffee Shop is a gem, and in Japan or China George would be a "living national treasure"! His Santos Dark and his Mocha blend are both delicious. The aroma that fills the street when he's roasting, on his machines which are genuinely 100 years old, is fabulous! It's a tragedy that George hasn't trained up an apprentice... Luckily he's still a young man (in his mid-70s, I think). Long may he continue!
PS: That framed photo of him looking like Boris Karloff, which hangs behind the counter, is by me.
A truly gem of a place. You get knowledgeable helpful advice from the expert. Astonishing quality at really affordable prices. A must for people who love real quality coffee
Amazing authentic shop for buying coffee. Freshly roasted and grounded! The owner is also super friendly and helpful!!!!
One little gem in the hearth of london! ???? ????
Good quality Freshly roasted coffee beans for a very reasonable price for London. I can see why the shop has been there 40 years and the queue was out the door. 'nuff said!
