I've been there four times and all four times they gave me a fantastic haircut for a very very reasonable price! And I've had three different barbers that are all professionals and ask you and do exactly what you want!!:-)
Every single time my child who’s African American comes to get his hair cut they deny him service and the one time the owner let him sit for an hr before saying oh we’re closed. I’m telling everyone on tic tok not to go there and I hope his business suffers just say you’re only servicing Hispanic and Caucasian’s.
Canons it’s a very good place to go and get your haircut. The people that rent the chairs in there are very knowledgeable hairstylist and are also very nice and affluent in conversations. I like comming here when my hair gets too long.

0 stars please! My husband just went in today after waiting for over an hour to get his hair cut, he comes home with a messed up haircut and talk about a “line up” that isn’t lined up. I could’ve cut his hair like that too, next time I know. For the price you guys charge, not worth it! Just so you guys know I did want him to go in so you guys can see what kind of a haircut/ line up he got, but he just won’t go back there again.
Worst barbershop I’ve been to in Elgin. Don’t come here unless you know one of the barbers. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been waiting or in what order you came in, if one of their friends comes in they’ll cut them first & lie & claim they had an appointment.
I went in to get my sons hair cut & while I was waiting two other customers came in after me. That’s three of us waiting, then another customer comes in & sits by one of the barbers. As that barber is cutting a customers hair I hear the last guy that came in ask him if he has anyone else to cut after his current customer. The barber scans the waiting area, sees that several of us are still waiting for haircuts & still says no. I’m thinking ok maybe he just thinks everyone is waiting for a specific barber. He finishes up with his current customer & again I see him scan the waiting area without asking who is next. He then whispers to the guy that came in last to sit down but because he whispered it he didn’t hear him. So I look at him & ask if my son can come up & he says “oh he’s first” I’m like “no he’s not, he came in after me” at this point he starts stuttering saying “he has an appointment he called me on the phone” so I’m like “no he didn’t I just heard him ask you” he gets a deer in headlights look on his face & says “no he didn’t ask me anything!” Lol I’m like “ok ????” & walked out bc I wasn’t going to argue with someone who really thought he could lie like I didn’t hear everything that went down & there was no way in hell I was going to let him touch my son’s hair.
Now I’m not one to write “reviews”, in fact this is the first one I’ve written, but this is the second time this has happened to me there with two different barbers which leads me to conclude that this is the M.O. at this shop. The last time was probably over 2 years ago, I walked out that time too & just let my husband be in charge of getting our sons haircut at his barbershop from then on. So I should have known better than to go back to Canno’s, but being that it was my baby’s first haircut, I wanted to take him. LESSON LEARNED. Little did the guy know I was going to tip 100% since it would be his first haircut & im sure wouldn’t of been the easiest customer. ????????♀️

I’ve really enjoyed this place for two years. They do good work at a great value. They care about men’s hair and that it looks good. Will continue to go back.
