Nice fish and chips but incredibly rude owner. We’d visited with friends who go every time they visit Tankerton. We ordered chips and cod bites and sat outside on their tables and ate it. My 5 year old son needed to use the toilet so we went through and used it. When we came out the owner was there waiting for me and tore me off a strip about how the public are not allowed to use the toilet. Fair enough but I explained that I’m a paying customer and was just sat outside. He then said it doesn’t matter the toilet is for restaurant use only and not for take away customers. There were at the time, only two people sitting in the restaurant who both said as I walked past that it was a bit harsh not to allow a paying customer’s child to use the facilities.

One of my friends then went back in to speak to the owner who proceeded to argue with him and said it makes the restaurant customers feel uncomfortable and that we should go and ask them! My friend disagreed as that’s just a ridiculous thing to do, to invite other diners to join a disagreement and we left.

The food was nice but we will never be returning and my friends who are a large family will never return again either. Bit of a shame to lose return custom and for me to feel so upset by the situation that I’ve put this review on here.

I visited this fish and chip shop for the first time yesterday, the chips were amazing, the best I’ve had in a very long time, the sausage was also good however the saveloy was over cooked and the skin really dry and too crispy, not sure how long it had been sitting there once cooked.

I would return due to how amazing the chips were but I don’t think I would get a saveloy from here again.

Lovely fish and chips, scampi also served. Pies and other dishes also served. Beer available. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Left with a belly full of fish!!

Good fish and batter, but like every other chippy, the chips are soft. Why don't chips have a bit of crunch any more? Our order was ready quickly, didn't have long you wait. Fish still served in polystyrene trays, not cardboard boxes, which is a shame.

Nothing like it used tobe. Chips were way too greasy and didn't quite live up to our usual expectations (which aren't that high anyway). Price didn't reflect the lack of quality either paid way too much for what we got

Great fish and chips always been good

Handy to find this open when we fancied fish n chips on a Sunday lunchtime. Very tasty and the family sized chip portions were good value. Fish on the smaller size but delicious. My daughter loved the veggie nuggets and the chicken ones were real breast meat! Very clean, tidy and professional too. Will come again for sure!
