Quick Facts About Central Fish Restaurant

Central Fish Restaurant is a beloved establishment that has gained a loyal customer base over the years. It has several strengths that contribute to its popularity and success.
One of the most prominent strengths is the quality of the food. Multiple comments praise the fish and chips, with several individuals claiming it to be the best they've ever had in the UK. This consistent high-quality food is a major factor in attracting and retaining customers.
Another strength of Central Fish Restaurant is the friendly and attentive service. Customers highlight the owners' politeness and willingness to engage in conversation. This personalized touch creates a welcoming atmosphere and contributes to positive dining experiences.
The restaurant's cleanliness is also mentioned as a strength. It is described as a clean and well-maintained space, which adds to the overall enjoyment of the dining experience. Additionally, the option to take away is seen as convenient for those who prefer to eat elsewhere.
Central Fish Restaurant's longevity is seen as a strength by some customers. One comment specifically mentions that it has not changed since 1989. This consistency is appreciated by the local community and likely contributes to the restaurant's reputation for reliability and quality.
Reasonable prices are also listed as a strength. Multiple comments mention that the portions are good, and though they may have slightly reduced in size, they are still considered sufficient. This combination of quality and affordability is attractive to customers seeking value for their money.
The location and extended opening hours are also strengths mentioned by customers. The fact that the restaurant stays open late is seen as convenient, allowing customers to satisfy their cravings at any time. Additionally, its location may make it easily accessible for both locals and tourists.
While Central Fish Restaurant undeniably has several strengths, there are also a few weaknesses that have been indirectly mentioned.
One customer states that the fish and chips were a bit bland. This comment suggests that the flavor of the food might not be as robust as some customers would prefer. However, it is important to note that taste preferences can vary, and what is considered bland by one person may be perfectly enjoyable to another.
The interior of the restaurant is described as old and unfancy, although it adds to the charm. While some customers appreciate the traditional and rustic ambiance, others may prefer a more modern or updated setting. This aspect may not appeal to those seeking a more contemporary dining experience.
In conclusion, Central Fish Restaurant has several strengths that contribute to its popularity and positive reputation. These include high-quality food, friendly service, cleanliness, affordable prices, and convenient opening hours. However, there are also minor weaknesses, such as the potential for blandness in the food and the outdated interior. Nonetheless, the overall positive feedback from customers indicates that the strengths outweigh the weaknesses, making Central Fish Restaurant a highly recommended establishment in Aberystwyth.

One of my favourite places ever. Great great food. The curry sauce has chicken in it. ???? I look forward to this every year I go by. Make a point of stopping here just for this. Amazing friendly service with a lovely happy clean restaurant or you can take away. Thoroughly recommend ❤️
One of the best fish and chip I have had in UK
My personal favorite chippy in town. The owners are wonderful polite and a pleasure to speak to. The portions are good, although they have shrank this last year they are still sufficient. Reasonable prices. Good fish, excellent chips.
The fish and chips was pretty good albeit a bit bland. The restaurant stays open till late which was very hand. The interior is very old and unfancy but it adds to the charm.
The Central chippy is my culinary north star, in Aber; a constant for quality and service.
End of chat.
One of the few places that has not changed since moving here in 1989. The quality of the food is excellent. Very friendly, great portions.
Best chippy in Aberystwyth if not mid Wales.
Absolutely love this place!
As soon as you step into the shop the staff greet you with enthusiasm, and are always up for a chat for anything whether it's a global issue raging around the world or just a good chat about the day outside the windows.
The food comes out catered for you and the smell of chips is amazing! My personal favourite is a fish without batter, which I usually order specially. The fish comes out with a thin layer of nice crisp that makes a crunch sound once you bite into it, but the middle remains soft and juicy. The chips are looking golden brown and steaming coming out of the pan! Just the way they should be!
The staff is working relentlessly behind counter ensuring all the guidelines have been met and each customer can be served safely amidst this pandemic. Definitely, the best place in town for a lovely fish and chips!
Outstanding cod and chips. Some of the best I’ve ever had. Cafe is a little basic, with banquettes packed closely together, but a highlight of my visit and well worth the short walk from the centre of town.
