Quick Facts About Chip Stop
Strengths of Chip Stop:
1. Gluten-free options: One of the main strengths of Chip Stop is its ability to accommodate customers with coeliac disease by offering gluten-free fish and chips. This is particularly appealing to customers who have recently been diagnosed with the condition and may be struggling to find suitable food options.
2. Separation of gluten-free food: The fact that Chip Stop ensures that gluten-free food is prepared separately shows a strong commitment to avoiding cross-contamination. This is important for customers with coeliac disease who need to be assured that their food has not come into contact with gluten.
3. Tasty food: Multiple comments mention that the food at Chip Stop is delicious and comparable to traditional fish and chips. This is a significant strength as it dispels the notion that gluten-free food is inferior in taste or quality.
4. Reasonable prices: Several customers appreciate the fact that Chip Stop offers reasonably priced meals, particularly given the gluten-free options. This is seen as a positive aspect as it allows customers with dietary restrictions to enjoy a treat without breaking the bank.
5. Fast service: Many reviews mention the fast service at Chip Stop. Customers appreciate that even during busy periods, the wait time is minimal. This is a strength as it indicates efficient operations and management of customer orders.
6. Friendly and helpful staff: The staff at Chip Stop are consistently praised for their helpfulness and friendliness. This is an important strength as it contributes to a positive customer experience and creates a welcoming atmosphere.
7. Delivery service: Chip Stop offers a delivery service, which is particularly appealing to customers who may not be able to visit the physical store. This convenience factor is seen as a strength, especially for those who cannot easily access gluten-free options in their area.
Weaknesses of Chip Stop:
1. Inconsistent quality: One customer mentions that the food quality has declined in recent months, particularly when it comes to the chips and chicken. This inconsistency is viewed as a weakness as it indicates that the quality of the food may vary from visit to visit.
2. High prices for certain items: While many customers appreciate the reasonable prices, there is one comment expressing dissatisfaction with the high prices of certain items, such as the large chips and southern fried chicken. This could be seen as a weakness for customers who feel that they are not getting value for their money.
3. Fatty and bone-filled chicken: One customer had a negative experience with the southern fried chicken, describing it as being mostly fatty bits and bones. This represents a weakness as it indicates a lack of quality control and suggests that some menu items may not meet customer expectations.
4. Arrogant staff and poor customer service: One comment mentions the staff's apparent arrogance when the customer tried to get a refund. This reflects a weakness in customer service and suggests that there may be room for improvement in how the staff handles customer complaints and concerns.
In conclusion, Chip Stop has several strengths, including its gluten-free options, separation of gluten-free food, tasty food, reasonable prices, fast service, friendly staff, and delivery service. However, there are also weaknesses that need to be addressed, such as inconsistent quality, high prices for certain items, fatty and bone-filled chicken, and potential issues with staff attitude and customer service. Overall, Chip Stop has many positive aspects that appeal to customers with coeliac disease and those seeking gluten-free options, but there is room for improvement in certain areas to ensure a consistently positive customer experience.

Just over a year ago, I was diagnosed with coeliac disease so I'm now living a Gluten Free life. I was thrilled to hear that Chip Stop in Penn offer Gluten Free fish and chips (amongst other things) every Tuesday and Saturday and ensure that food is prepared seperately (as I think the person that owns the chippy is also coeliac so totally GETS the whole disease and cross contamination thing). I not long got back from the Chip Stop to have our chippy dinner, which is a rare treat for us even before I was diagnosed with coeliac disease. The food tasted lovely, wouldn't even know it was gluten free. The mini fish and chip portion was actually quite filling and the meal along with my partners gluten containing food was reasonably priced. I was very pleased with the service from the very helpful staff. We decided to pop to the shop to order in person and though it was a busy Saturday evening and my Gluten Free food was prepared seperately, it took no more than 7 to 10 mins to wait for my food. Thank you Chip Stop team. I'll definitely pay a visit again.
Good prices and tasty food. Mini Fish Special (with Curry Sauce) and a can of Coke £5.80. Fast service too, will be visiting again soon.
Firstly, i want to say that up until December, the food was great even though albeit the prices were too high. recently, i went to chip stop fir a meal for me and my 2 kids. i ordered a large chips and a southern fried chicken piece and a kids nugget meal. the chips were very hard and once bitten quite dry for 2.80. i could've bought a bag of potatoes and made way more chips that are way fresher than what i experienced. now the nuggets were terrible. they were slightly pink inside and cold through but i pout this down to the amount of people waiting to be served and the rush they are all in. the southern fried chicken was 60 percent black fatty bits 30 percent bone and 10 percent chicken and £3.50 again i could buy a good quality 2-3 pieces that i can guarantee are not fatty and bone. i have a busy life as a care worker and i don't need the added stress of paying almost 10 pound for a meal that is cold, fatty and raw. the arrogance of the staff when i tried to get a refund. they obviously are in it for the profit not the customer service. i'm appalled at the sheer lack of care for anything and wont be paying your overpriced prices any more. you have lost a valued customer because of the obvious pound signs in your faces
Just enjoyed a delivery from Chip Stop. I have recently been diagnosed with coeliac disease so was thrilled to see that you can still order and enjoy traditional fish and chips gluten free style! The gluten free food was all labelled separately and tasted great! It was delivered efficiently and with a smile! I was really impressed and will be ordering again very soon. Well done to all the team at Chip Stop.
