Quick Facts About The George & Dragon

The George & Dragon in Heighington appears to have a number of strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, the quality of the food is consistently praised. The Parmos and chicken curry are specifically mentioned as being "to die for" and "excellent and beautifully presented." This indicates that the pub has skilled chefs who can deliver delicious meals. The portions are also described as large, appealing to those with a big appetite.
The service at The George & Dragon is also highly regarded, with multiple comments commending the staff for being friendly and welcoming. Table service is provided throughout the pub, which contributes to a positive dining experience. The fact that the staff were able to accommodate walk-in customers and quickly find them a table indicates efficient management. Additionally, the service is described as quick, even when catering to large groups. This suggests that the staff are efficient and capable of handling busy periods.
The ambiance of The George & Dragon is another strength. The decor and old-style feel of the village pub are praised, creating a pleasant atmosphere for customers. The absence of televisions and terrible music is also appreciated, allowing patrons to converse without distraction.

However, there are a few weaknesses mentioned in the comments that should be taken into consideration. One individual had a negative experience with the food on their last visit, describing it as disgusting and burnt. It is important for the pub to address these issues and ensure that such poor quality meals are not served in the future. Offering a refund in this case was appreciated, but it is essential to prevent such incidents from happening in the first place.
In another comment, a vegetarian lasagne is described as being more like cheese soup, indicating a lack of consistency in the quality of some dishes. Although there is a good selection of vegetarian options available, it is important to ensure that all dishes maintain a high standard.
In summary, The George & Dragon has several strengths, including consistently delicious food, friendly service, and an appealing ambiance. The pub offers a wide variety of menu options and has attractive deals to attract customers. However, there are weaknesses to address, such as occasional poor quality dishes that were served and the need for consistency in vegetarian options. Best TL Reviews

Fantastic meal at The George & Dragon in Heighington. Parmos to die for and a superb chicken curry. It's been a while since we went out and had such an excellent meal. The service was great and the staff were friendly. The pub was busy but they got our food out in good time. There is something for every taste on the menu. Thursday night is grill night, so look out for the special offers, eg: two 10oz rump steaks and a bottle of wine for £25. The portions are big, so go with a big appetite! There was a good choice of desserts. If you opt for the cheeseboard you might need a doggy bag. Perfect for cheeseaholics!
Visited today, didnt book, walked in and just managed to get a table. Love the decor and old style feel of this village pub. Staff were very welcoming and down to earth. Table service throughout. Food was excellent and beautifully presented. Good selection of drink and cask ale.
Highly recommend.
Been several times and most times in was really good. Its popular with the locals, and deservedly so for the majority of the time.
However, on my last visit, the food we were served was disgusting and I would of been embarrassed to of served us the food they brought out. It was the manager who served us, and I was disappointed she felt it was acceptable to serve us the food they did. It was burnt, and looked like someone had scraped it off the floor after a dog had gotten to it first.
It was very disappointing and we haven't been back since. So although I'm sure most of the time the food is of a good quality, it certainly wasn't on our last visit.
We were given a refund which was appreciated, but they should never of served us the food they did in the first place.
Second visit in a couple of months. 10 of us went for Sunday lunch and it was excellent. The service was pretty quick for the size of the group and we were all really pleased, between us we had most of the menu and everything was fantastic - especially the vegetables. The kids portions were a good size and everything was fairly priced. We had delicious desserts too. Definitely be back.
Great menu all at reasonable prices
Found us a table even though we had not booked and they were clearly very busy sat us in the conservatory part which was lovely ,light and enough space to not feel cramped. The dinner itself was delicious, roast beef cooked just right not over cooked and enjoyed the cauliflower cheese and the red cabbage something different to your usual veg.
Nice little pub. Had a couple of well kept real ales on the go, and the food was good and very reasonably priced.
Good pub. Staff very friendly. I had the vegetarian lasagne which unfortunately wasn't great. It was more like cheese soup. But cost £11.95. To be fair to them, they had a good selection of vegetarian options and I think I probably picked badly. It's a good proper pub - no televisions and no terrible music playing. Would definitely go in for drinks again.
