Quick Facts About Cloister
Cloister Place, based on the comments above, seems to have several strengths that make it an attractive place for customers.
One of the strengths mentioned is the cafe's lovely quiet atmosphere. Many customers appreciate the peaceful environment, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee or have some alone time. The absence of banging music or TV chatter allows for nice background "people" conversations, adding to the overall ambiance. This strength is particularly emphasized by the comment stating that it is a "respectfully quiet" place.
Another strength mentioned is the friendly and helpful staff. Several comments highlight the positive interactions with the staff, mentioning their pleasant and helpful nature. This friendly atmosphere is likely to make customers feel welcome and valued, which is an important aspect for a cafe to succeed in customer service.
The cleanliness of the cafe is also mentioned as a strength. The fact that the cafe is described as "very clean" indicates that the management prioritizes cleanliness and hygiene. This is crucial for maintaining customer satisfaction and a positive image of the establishment.
The availability of local art for sale is another strength of Cloister Place. This feature adds a unique touch to the cafe and can attract art enthusiasts who appreciate supporting local artists. Offering artwork for sale can also create a visually appealing and culturally enriching environment for customers.
The comments also highlight the good value of the coffee and food at Cloister Place. This is a significant strength as it makes the cafe appealing to a wide range of customers. Affordable prices can help attract customers who are looking for quality food and beverages without breaking the bank.
The cafe's diverse menu is mentioned as a strength as well. The availability of fresh food cooked from both a fixed menu and a special board ensures there is something for everyone. The range of options mentioned, such as chicken and mushroom pie, fish and chips, homemade soup, and scones, appeals to different tastes and preferences.
Additionally, the comment about the espresso being served with water unasked indicates excellent attention to detail and customer satisfaction. This small gesture can make customers feel valued and create a memorable experience.
While the comments overwhelmingly highlight the positive aspects of Cloister Place, there are a few potential weaknesses that can be inferred.
One possible weakness is the absence of cake in one customer's visit. Although the options were described as looking quite nice, the fact that a cake was not ordered may suggest that there is room for improvement in the dessert selection or presentation.
Another weakness might be the lack of specific information about the cafe's opening hours. Since the comment mentions that the church service normally finishes at half past 12, it would be helpful for potential visitors to have more clarity on when the cafe opens or closes.
Furthermore, there is no mention of any specific dietary accommodations or options for dietary restrictions. While the diverse menu suggests a variety of choices, it would be beneficial to know if the cafe caters to specific dietary requirements such as vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options.
In conclusion, Cloister Place possesses several strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. The lovely quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, cleanliness, local art for sale, good value coffee and food, and attention to detail are all strengths that make the cafe an attractive option for customers. However, it is important for the cafe to address potential weaknesses such as the availability of specific desserts, information about opening hours, and potential dietary accommodations to maintain and improve customer satisfaction.

Quaint & traditional. Well worth a visit & Nice & respectfully quiet with no banging music or TV chatter going on, just nice background "people" conversations. Food &
scones, cake etc etc to enjoy. These might be the work of Angels.
Me and my mam come here all the time, fresh food cooked from the menu, or special board. Chicken amd mushroom pie n veg, fish and chips, homemade soup, you name it.
The cafe is next door to the Cathedral. My late great aunt was the housekeeper of this place from age 16, as lived with nuns after her mother died age 3. We often go into the church to light a candle, service normal finishes at half 12.
I had a tuna melt toastie which was very nice and a dandelion and burdock for my drink. Didn't get a cake but the options did look quite nice

My office is a couple of minutes walk away so I call in a couple of times a month for a lovely lunch in calm yet still jolly surroundings. There's a nice ambience about the cafe and great for a catch up with friends or a quiet half hour on your own.
