Quick Facts About COAST Cafe & Gift Shop

COAST Cafe & Gift Shop is a popular establishment, with many positive comments and a few negative ones. In this analysis, we will delve into the strengths and weaknesses of the place based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, several positive aspects emerge. Firstly, the cafe is described as gorgeous, with a nice view of the sea. This indicates that the ambiance and location are appealing to customers. The positive atmosphere is further reinforced by comments about the warm welcome and friendly and attentive service. Fast service is also mentioned, implying efficiency. Additionally, the food is consistently praised as delicious, with specific items like the rise and shine breakfast, lasagna, and beef and ale pie receiving high commendation. This suggests that the cafe excels in culinary offerings. The cleanliness of the toilets is also lauded, indicating a focus on hygiene and maintaining a pleasant environment. Lastly, the presence of a gift shop that customers enjoy browsing contributes to the overall appeal of the place.
Moving on to the weaknesses, there are a few areas that warrant attention. One recurring issue is the lack of seating for larger parties. Although one commenter expresses satisfaction with the ability to seat six people, another customer had a frustrating experience when they were unable to sit together with their party of six and three dogs. This inconsistency in communication and seating arrangements could be seen as a weakness in terms of accommodating larger groups. Additionally, this customer describes encountering a rude and unhelpful staff member, which reflects poorly on the customer service provided. As customer service is a crucial aspect of any establishment, this negative encounter is certainly a weakness. Another criticism of the cafe is the bland food mentioned in one comment. While many customers found the food delicious, this particular review suggests that there may be inconsistencies in taste or quality. This highlights the need for consistency in culinary offerings. Furthermore, the comment about grubby menus raises concerns about cleanliness and attention to detail. Lastly, there is a mention of overpriced food, which could deter price-sensitive customers who seek better value for their money.
In terms of improvement opportunities, the main focus should be on addressing the issues of inconsistent seating arrangements and customer service. Ensuring clear communication and providing adequate seating for larger parties would help prevent frustrations and misunderstandings. Training staff to be more attentive, polite, and accommodating would contribute to a more positive customer experience. Additionally, addressing the concerns about bland food, grubby menus, and overpriced items would help improve the overall quality and value for customers.
In conclusion, COAST Cafe & Gift Shop has several strengths, including a gorgeous atmosphere, fast service, delicious food, and a lovely gift shop. However, there are weaknesses to address, such as inconsistent seating arrangements, poor customer service, occasional concerns about food quality, cleanliness, and overpricing. By taking steps to improve these areas, the cafe could enhance its overall offering and provide an even better experience for customers.

Gorgeous little cafe! Fast service, delicious food and a lovely gift shop. Nice view of the sea too.
We had a warm welcome, and the place looks lovely. We got friendly attentive service and our breakfast was really nice. Next time we are in the area we will definitely come back.
Big thanks to all the staff ????
Bit of a frustrating experience. I phoned in advance asking if there was space in the cafe for six people with three dogs and was told yes. Turned up, and as it turns out there are no tables for more than four in the dog-friendly area. I explained what I had been told, and the waitress said yes, there's room for six, four on one table and two on another (six feet away from one another). I don't think it needs explaining that when a customer phones asking if you can seat six people, that they're not asking whether you have six seats in your cafe, they're asking for six people to be seated together. I asked if we could move two tables together and was told no, because it might make access to other tables tricky. I thought I'd found a solution with moving another table, so asked the same person, who then proceeded to speak to me as if I was something he'd stepped in. The excuses given amounted to "that's the layout, sod off". He was determined to believe I was suggesting cutting off access to another table, which of course I wasn't, but he seemed to enjoy being rude, and you can't reason with those sorts of people. I wouldn't have minded if I hadn't been told on the phone that there is room for six people. The purpose of our visit was to introduce my parents to my partner's parents in advance of our wedding, so splitting the party up ruined the experience. Unfortunately we had few other options nearby otherwise I would have left, which I'm sure would have pleased them. If you don't enjoy being talked down to, bland food, grubby menus, and being whispered about (loudly, thanks), give it a miss.
Edit: I have noticed the owner (the rude character in my review), replies to reviews with never a single intention to make improvements or acknowledge mistakes or poor service. He must be practically perfect in every way, a world first!
Another edit: the owner has seen fit to dig into my identity to find my surname and post it. I've heard from other locals that he can be very spiteful and arrogant, this much is obvious. Pride comes before a fall.
My partner and I visited with our 9 month old baby on bank holiday Monday. We thought it would be full and was greeted by a lovely member of staff at the front door who advised there was room for us. Coast is surprisingly spacious, I say this because from outside it looks tiny but is like a TARDIS inside! Everywhere is layed out perfectly distanced from other customers and we felt safe. They were welcoming and accommodating asking if we needed a high chair for our son. We both had the rise and shine breakfast which was red hot, full of flavour and ingredients tasted fresh. Our little boy had a sandwich and fruit(which is great as alot of places include unhealthy food for children like crisps and biscuits etc). The Flat whites here are also delicious, strong and flavourful. Can't wait to come back again!
Our 1st visit here. Have wanted to go for a while. Absolutely gorgeous place. Was not disappointed. Had a Kinder Bueno hot chocolate. ???? wow! ???? it was amazing.
We also had a red pepper and spinach lasagna and a beef and ale pie.
And a rolo cake to finish. All were also absolutely gorgeous. Just fantastic food.
Also really lovely friendly staff. Very welcoming. Even tho we live over 40 miles away. We’re be going back many times. Definitely worth the trip. Even on a cold windy day like we had. ????
The owner is rude and condescending, overpriced food, bad coffee and awful service. The only redeeming feature is it's location, but there's much better cafés nearby.
I've seen his responses to other reviews on here so his attitude in person comes as no surprise at all to me.
Brilliant cafe on the front in Rhos .Cakes to die for????Really nice friendly staff Lovely clean toilets and good shop to walk around .Dog friendly and seating outside .This place ticks all the boxes ????
The food is very tasty and I like browsing the small gift shop. I found some of the food a bit expensive but I suppose that's to be expected of a busy area with lots of competition. ????????
