Quick Facts About Craeft Bar
Craeft Bar has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, the staff at Craeft Bar are repeatedly praised for being friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. This is an important aspect of any dining experience, as it contributes to the overall atmosphere and customer satisfaction. Additionally, the unique experience of dining in a pod and being able to control the music through Alexa is noted positively. The heating in the pod is also mentioned as being excellent, ensuring that guests are comfortable even in outdoor dining conditions. The fact that the wines are sourced locally is appreciated by customers and adds to the appeal of the restaurant.
Another strength of Craeft Bar is the quality of the food. Many comments mention that the food itself was good, with praise for the flavors and presentation. The dishes are described as being well-prepared and made with high-quality ingredients. The menu is commended for its focus on British cuisine and the use of home-grown ingredients.
However, there are several weaknesses that are mentioned in the comments. One of the main criticisms is that the portion sizes are too small for the price. Multiple customers express disappointment and hunger after their meals. Some specifically mention feeling that the portion sizes are more akin to tasters rather than full courses. This indicates that the value for money at Craeft Bar may not be satisfactory for some customers.
Another weakness mentioned is the lack of variety and lack of information on the menu. It is described as short and vague, leaving customers unsure of what they will be receiving. This can contribute to disappointment if the expectations do not align with the actual dishes.
Several customers express frustration with the service and management of Craeft Bar. Some mention feeling rushed or pushed out before closing time, despite being the last ones in the venue. Others mention issues with reservations and being misled or inconvenienced when booking. These negative experiences with service can greatly impact the overall impression of the restaurant.
Lastly, some customers mention concerns about COVID-19 safety measures. One comment specifically mentions that staff were not wearing masks, which raises concerns about compliance with regulations. This is particularly important in the current climate where health and safety precautions are crucial.
In summary, Craeft Bar has strengths in terms of friendly staff, a unique dining experience, and high-quality food. However, weaknesses are evident in terms of portion sizes, value for money, menu variety, service issues, and potential compliance with COVID-19 safety measures. These factors should be considered when evaluating the overall strengths and weaknesses of Craeft Bar.

We booked a pod and opted for the set menu.
The staff were upbeat and the quality of the food itself was good, however, the quantity was really below average for the cost.
The starter was fine. I opted for the lamb main which was nice, but not near enough vegetables to partner with the huge almost leg of lamb I’d received, which had also been plated in a tapas bowl half the size of the lamb, so was a little bit fiddly to mix the potatoes in with the gravy.
I opted for the chocolate pudding with ice cream however the scoop of ice cream was very small and left the pudding feeling quite dry, so I didn’t finish it.
The cheese board (pictured below) which was missing one slice of Brie which I’d already eaten, cost £10. I find that extremely expensive for what it was (you get more in a lunchable!)
Although a few of the cocktails and wines weren’t available due to supplier issues (which had happened before when a colleague visited last year) the half penny wine and coco mango cocktail was very nice.
Although it’s nice to experience the pretty pods and enjoy your own music, I definitely wouldn’t go again considering drinks and food for 2 people came to £253+. As someone who enjoys dining out I know this is definitely above the average cost
I was also surprised that just before our 2 hour slot had ended (10.30pm) we asked for more drinks, which we’re delivered along with our last bill as we learnt that they were closing the bar (Saturday night). I was most surprised as we had actually emailed individual restaurants asking to book after dinner seats inside the restaurant for after the pod and they had advised that we would have it until close.
However as we were the last ones at the venue it felt like we were rushed out so they could shut up shop and go home.
Visited in January for a birthday. Left extremely hungry
Positives: the staff were friendly. The pod is a unique experience. Lovely touch how wines are all local.
Negatives: extremely tiny portions. Poor value for money.
We had the 4 course menu, one of which was a small piece of bread (very tasty but tiny) which leaves with 3 courses- essentially a starter, main and dessert. These were all taster size and you'd need about 8-10 courses of these to be full and I have a very average appetite. We were all extremely hungry and disappointed.only remembered to take one photo which is attached (a carrot type thing- very tasty).
The price did not reflect the quality. Will not be going again
Craft is quite the unique experience. Despite it being outdoor, we had the pod with 50% of the windows open. The heating in the pod was excellent with the extra blankets supplied by the venue. The menu is short and vague but is of exceptional high quality and detail. All items on the menu are British and in some cases the ingredients home grown by the staff themselves. The staff were very attentive and friendly. In regards to Covid-19, it was safe and secure. I would highly recommend Craft.
We visited Craft restaurant recently on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was relatively busy in a safe distancing sort of way. There were a few people who turned up for a walk in and were turned away, so make sure you book. The restaurant is in a great location just by the ICC across from Brindley Place. The setting and service was excellent. We had a 3 course set menu. Starter and main were excellent. We had an English white wine which was lovely.
Brilliant experience at craft. We were lucky enough to get our own private pod which has heating and an Alexa to play your own music. Very covid friendly. The food was incredible and good value on the lunch time menu. Would recommend!
The owner opened up reservations for the outside bar area tonight without properly updating Open Table meaning people booked reservations for dinner when they could only accommodate drinks. This leaving us with the option to cancel at £100 fee or paying the minimum charge of £60 for drinks only. We had to rush to eat dinner somewhere else nearby before having to rush back for drinks. Completely unacceptable and the management staff were not considerate or empathetic whatsoever. Drinks were average would be better off at the alchemist nearby. Flower wall tunnel is the only thing going for this place. Won’t be back, bougie without the substance. The fireplace on the table was only slightly helpful to keep warm. Avoid this place, it’s a waste of money and few social distancing measures in place for COVID19- staff were not wearing masks
It's like being on MasterChef The Professionals when the waiting staff describe the food, which is absolutely amazing! Everything about the food was spot on, the way it was presented, the portion sizes and the flavours were top drawer, you can see the chef has put his heart & soul into the dishes he created. Compliments to the chef. An all round fabulous dining experience.
Had a wonderful evening at Craft restaurant. Food was amazing and the staff are first class. Our waitress Helena D made us feel very special with her knowledge of both food and wine and nothing was too much trouble for her. I would recommend Craft to anyone who wants a special night out. Thank you Craft!
