Quick Facts About Old Road Chippy

Old Road Chippy has received a mix of positive and negative comments, giving us insight into its strengths and weaknesses. In analyzing these comments, it is clear that the strengths of the chippy lie in their friendly staff, fast service, and generous portion sizes. These are important factors that can contribute to a positive dining experience for customers.
One customer mentioned that the staff were really friendly, which is always a plus when visiting a restaurant. Friendly staff can create a welcoming atmosphere and make customers feel valued. Another customer expressed their satisfaction with the fast service, despite being initially informed of a 10-minute wait. Efficient and prompt service is crucial for customer satisfaction, especially in a fast-food establishment.
Additionally, several comments praised the generous portion sizes at Old Road Chippy. Customers appreciate receiving good value for their money, and ample portion sizes can contribute to a satisfying and filling meal. This is particularly important in a chippy, where customers often expect hearty servings of fish and chips.
However, the weaknesses of Old Road Chippy are also evident in these comments. Many customers expressed disappointment in the taste of the food. One customer described the fish and chips as bland, with both the batter and fish lacking flavor. Another customer mentioned that the chips were oily and either stale or stodgy. These comments suggest that the chippy may need to improve the seasoning and preparation of their dishes to enhance the taste and quality.
There were also complaints about the fish being soggy and chewy in parts, indicating inconsistency in the cooking process. One customer even referred to their visit as "disgusting," emphasizing their disappointment in the overall quality of the food. Another customer complained about the fish being stuck to the box and served cold, which is a clear issue with food storage and presentation.
Furthermore, there were concerns raised about the lack of attention to dietary considerations. One customer warned vegans and vegetarians to avoid Old Road Chippy, as they fry everything in the same oil, resulting in cross-contamination and a taste of beef burgers in their chips. This comment highlights a significant weakness in the chippy's ability to cater to specific dietary requirements.
Other negative comments focused on incorrect orders, pale undercooked chips, and the poor quality and appearance of the peas. These comments suggest that the chippy may need to improve their attention to detail and ensure consistency in the cooking process.
In conclusion, while Old Road Chippy has some strengths such as friendly staff, fast service, and generous portion sizes, the negative comments regarding bland and inconsistent food quality, incorrect orders, and lack of attention to dietary considerations are significant weaknesses. These weaknesses need to be addressed to ensure customer satisfaction and improve the overall dining experience at Old Road Chippy.

Best TL Reviews

First time we've been here. The staff were really friendly. Really fast service even though they said we had a wait of about 10 mins. Fish cooked fresh, chips fresh and chunky. Absolutely delicious ????????????????
Ordered through a delivery app and the food arrived about 40 minutes after placing the order. The fish and chips is a generous portion, but tasted a bit bland. The batter was soggy on the bottom, which you'd expect, but the fish was cooked well. The batter and the fish didn't have much flavour. The chips are thick cut, oily, and either stale or stodgy. The peas were okay, but again a bit bland. The other people who'd seemed to enjoy it more than I did.
Tldr: good portion sizes, a bit bland.
Very disappointed today fish was soggy and chewy in parts peas was tasteless the chops was ok but not the best. We have had food from hear in the past and it’s been really nice but definitely off there game today
One word to best describe my visit today, Disgusting ???? The chips were clearly reheated dry and full of black bits. Nasty.
We have just been there for the first time and OMG the burgers are amazing and made in less than 10 min. The fried chicken was super juicy, the chips were great! Also the guys there were very friendly. We are definitely coming back!
THE WORST CHIPPY AROUND . Food was awful. fish was stuck to the box it came in and was absolutely freezing cold . I complained and was refused a refund .
UPDATE,
IF YOU ARE A VEGAN OR A VEGETARIAN DO NOT GO HERE !
Went back here today 28/4/21 and ordered two chip muffins for mine and wife's lunch,
Got home and opened them and the chips were stale and pale and crinkly and again almost cold but this time there was a horrible taste to the chips it was not only the taste of dirty oil but to my horror it tasted of beef burgers!
Yes it appears that everything is fried in the same oil !!!
This time I will definitely never be going back. (It's not even like they are cheap at £4.80 for two chip muffins)
Thought I'd try this chippy tonight for a change from Brobbins on Wrigley head,
Staff that don't listen properly to your order and get it wrong,
Pale undercooked chips tiny fish and all served up nearly cold no wonder no one was in there.
I won't be going back.
Brobbins is definitely the best chippy in Failsworth.
Bad food, they put peas on top of the fish and chips and it turned all soggy, the peas were bad quality, very dark colour instead of green.
