Another customer mentioned that the price was "just right" for their perm. Another strength of Duncan Brothers School of Hair Design is the friendliness and welcoming nature of the staff. One customer mentioned feeling anxious in salon settings but felt at ease due to the welcoming attitude of the stylists. Having a friendly and welcoming staff creates a positive and comfortable atmosphere for customers, which enhances their overall experience.
Furthermore, some customers had positive experiences with their stylist. One customer mentioned that their stylist, Madelyn, did an "awesome job" and exceeded their expectations. Another customer mentioned that their stylist, Sierra, did a great job with their haircut and made the experience comfortable. These positive experiences with individual stylists indicate that there are skilled and competent students at Duncan Brothers School of Hair Design.
However, there are also several weaknesses highlighted in the comments. One common weakness mentioned by customers is the excessive waiting times. One customer mentioned waiting for an hour to be attended to, while another mentioned waiting for almost two hours for a simple haircut. Excessive waiting times can be frustrating for customers, especially if they have other commitments or appointments scheduled. Addressing this issue by improving scheduling and time management can significantly enhance the customer experience.
Another weakness highlighted by customers is the inconsistency in the quality of service. Multiple customers mentioned that their haircuts were not done correctly and required additional touch-ups or fixes. In some cases, the customers had to go to another salon to have their hair finished. Another customer mentioned that an instructor and student were not knowledgeable about the desired hairstyle and gave unsolicited advice. Improving communication and professionalism among the staff is vital for creating positive customer experiences.
Lastly, a customer shared their negative experience with the receptionist regarding pricing. The customer felt frustrated that the cost of a simple shampoo and blow dry was based on their hair texture. The customer believed that a hairstyle service should not be subject to different prices based on hair texture. This incident reflects a lack of transparency and fairness in pricing, which can negatively impact customer satisfaction.
In conclusion, Duncan Brothers School of Hair Design has strengths and weaknesses based on customer reviews. The affordability of the services and the friendliness of the staff are highlighted as strengths. However, weaknesses include excessive waiting times, inconsistencies in service quality, lack of communication and professionalism, and unfair pricing practices. I have been wanting "mermaid hair" for a while now. I made the decision to take the plunge after quitting a job that only wanted natural colors in our hair. I had called around to several places to get a price, and either they didn't have room or the price was way out of my budget (even my normal salon.) When I called Duncan to see about getting in on a Saturday, they did explain it would be a bit of a wait. I went in, they were busy, but I was willing to wait. After about an hour, Madelyn came and got me. The receptionist already told me that she was excited to do my hair. Madelyn did an awesome job explaining every step and helping me pick out colors. The results were more than what I expected and the price was within my budget . I had come in after getting off work, and let Madelyn know this. She was awesome in keeping me excited about the results that were in my future. I will definitely be returning when I need an update to my hair color. Thanks Madelyn! If you don't mind waiting and being patient with new learners, it is an affordable place to get all your hair needs met.
Got a perm and the student was awsome! Everyone was super friendly and the price was just right....love my curls!!
I went there in June to get a trim. After 2 hours I told the girl which was graduating in May my cut was fine didn't even have my cut done. Just took my grandson there, took them 1 hour and 57 min. To cut his hair. Will not go back his cut takes about 25 min every where else. When I left, I had to go somewhere else to have mine finished.
Went and got my hair trimmed. Salon settings usually make me anxious, but the ladies there are so welcoming and sweet. My stylist Sierra did a great job and it was a comfortable experience for sure. Will definitely be returning
If you're not prepared for the worst haircut of your life, don't go. I was, and still left disappointed. Probably going back.
I was soaked on my back through my jacket even! I did not know perm would not include hair trim and / styling! My stylist was nice but needs some service skills! My perm turned out good after I got home and styled it! I may or may not be back!
I went a few weeks back to get my hair cut. The young girl "cutting" my hair, did not do anything but cut my dead ends off and blow dry it. Her instructor had to come cut and touch up my hair. I showed him multiple pictures of the hair cut I wanted. All but one of them was of me, with that exact hair cut I wanted. It is known as the scene hairstyle. Anyway, neither the young girl or the instructor knew what they were doing. After cut and blow drying it, I had him "touch" it up cause it still was not like my picture. So the instructor proceeded to tell me that the hair cut I wanted would not look good on me. Yet I was showing a picture of MYSELF with that hair cut. I was not impressed with the customer services or the quality of the hair cut. I had to go myself and make my layers blend. If you are going to have someone teaching other people to cut hair. They need to know how to a simple long cut with shorter layers around the crown. Also telling your customers a hairstyle does not look good on them when they have a picture of themselves with that hairstyle and is not good for getting people to come back. I truly do not understand how that young lady was graduating the next Wednesday.
I called this place to ask if someone was available for a shampoo and blow dry, and when I asked how much would it cost, the lady instantly said "It depends on the texture of your hair, is it Caucasian?", and when I replied "no ma'am, it's ethnic",....she then asks "is is natural or do you have a relaxer", I replied "natural", and she says" Well that will cost more, your total will be $20.50",........why does a shampoo and blow dry cost more depending on your hair texture? ITS A SHAMPOO AND BLOW DRY, SOMETHING EVERYONE NEEDS, I didn't ask for a style or anything, just a simple shampoo and blow dry. If they dont see a problem with that, I WILL NOT SPEND MY MONEY HERE!!!!!
