Took my daughter for her first real hair cut and blow out. They were so patient and kind. So professional. Knew exactly what to do for her hair. This is our spot!!!
Today was my first time at this salon and I'm more than pleased with my hair. The service was great. My wait wasn't too bad either... I arrived by 10:20ish got my hair washed at 10:50a.m.btw the hair massage was the bomb!!! Experienced the normal start and stop between clients but I was out by 12:30p.m. The trim and deep conditioner I could've done myself but paid for it today... Good experience overall...
My hairdresser was excellent! Love her. Everyone was extremely nice I even got some coffee. Definitely recommend. As a matter of fact, I'm taking my mother.
They ask you to comb your own hair. They are not gentle with Afro texture hair. I had to sit up in the chair to have my hair rinsed. There was no hair treatment and they seemed unhappy to do my hair. I asked her to curl my hair before wrapping it,she never did. My hair was fried and smelt that way even after getting it wet at the beach. I was so disappointed with the experience and outcome. My hair didn't look silky at all. They charged $120 for the service, which apparently is based on the length of your hair. I hadn't done this since 2012 and was excited because this was for a wedding. It's the first and last time I will get my hair done here.
I will start off by saying this salon was my go-to salon for my hair. I loved having Lucy take care of my hair but unfortunately, I will not be returning.
The last two times I have had, I had another stylist (with short hair whose chair is the middle chair on the left side when you walk in) do my hair because Lucy had a few people ahead of her. It was a terrible decision that I made and I regret it. The lady did my hair and she constantly had a snide comment to make about my natural hair. If it was too difficult for her to do, she should have just let me go elsewhere or let someone, who can handle and be patient with my hair. No one should be ridiculed when they’re spending their hard earned money. She couldn’t even get my hair bone straight like Lucy does.
The other problem is she used a rat tail comb to comb my hair instead of a wide tooth comb, that is a huge no when someone has natural hair. Lucy always made sure to use a wide tooth comb when doing my hair relaxed. It doesn’t pull and yank like the smaller comb does.
Ultimately, the reason why I refuse to go back is because I noticed my curl pattern is no longer present. I believe a keratin treatment or relaxer was put in my hair during the wash phase. My hair has not been the same since and I believe this was done to make my hair “more manageable” by the stylist who complained about my hair.
I used to have tight curls and now they are loose and just look flat. my hair looks straightened when it is dry. It never used to look like this.
Thinking back, it makes sense why my hair is like this because when I would get it washed, I would notice a bit of a tingly sensation kind of like a relaxer. Being that I used to get relaxers, I know this feeling all too well. I’m just not sure if it was during my last two visits only or if it was an ongoing thing and it started getting noticeable as time went on.
I have been getting my hair treated here for over 5 years. Everyone is so sweet, friendly and genuine. There can be a long wait on certain days but it is well worth and I won't go anywhere else. By the way, the stylist Santa is amazing!!!!!
the worst place EVER. My first time here and I wanted to get my hair blowed out never would i know that they put RELAXER in their products as soon as i washed it (expecting my hair to go back curly ) my ends were DEAD had to cut almost all of my hair. If I had to rate it a zero I will NEVER GO TO THIS BUT PLACE IF UR HAIR IS 4c/4b etc this place is not for black people at all please never come back here.
