Quick Facts About Eat Central
Eat Central is a popular food court located in Merry Hill, known for its wide selection of big-name brands and outlets. One of its main strengths is the variety of food options available, ensuring that there is something to cater to everyone's tastes. Additionally, the food court is always clean and tidy, creating a pleasant dining environment.
The service at Eat Central is another one of its strengths. Despite the busyness of the food court, the service remains quick and efficient. This is especially beneficial for those who are looking for a quick meal during a shopping trip.
However, one of the weaknesses of Eat Central is the difficulty in finding a table, particularly on busy days. The food court is often crowded, making it challenging for customers to secure a seat. This is particularly problematic for individuals with young children, as finding seating becomes even more important for them.
Another weakness mentioned in the comments is the cleanliness of the shared trays. It is mentioned that the trays are not cleaned properly, as the same cloths used on bins are used to wipe them down. This hygiene concern may discourage some customers from eating at the food court, leading them to opt for takeout food instead.
Another weakness mentioned is the presence of too many cleaners on shift, some of whom are seen chatting instead of actively cleaning. While cleanliness is important, having too many cleaners may lead to inefficiency and a waste of resources. Customers may perceive this as a negative aspect as it detracts from the overall dining experience.
Another weakness highlighted in the comments is the quality of the food at certain outlets. One customer mentions being served overpriced food with a hair in it, and when they complained, the staff attempted to remove the hair and serve the same food again. This negative experience with food quality can greatly impact a customer's perception of the food court and may lead them to avoid dining there in the future.
In terms of the food itself, there are mixed reviews. Some customers find the food options to be bland, particularly in the Asian cuisine section. They mention that the salt and chili options are not fried in crispy batter, and the duck pancakes are described as awful. However, others find the curry sauce to be decent and believe there is good value for money in terms of portion sizes.
On a more positive note, one comment mentions the improvement in the food court over time, with the addition of halal options and the overall improvement in the quality of food. They specifically highlight a desert shop as their go-to place, especially for milkshakes, waffles, and cakes. This positive feedback indicates that the food court has made efforts to cater to different dietary preferences and has improved its offerings over time.
In conclusion, Eat Central has strengths such as a wide selection of big-name brands, quick service, and cleanliness. However, it also has weaknesses, including difficulty finding seating, cleanliness issues with shared trays, the presence of too many idle cleaners, and inconsistency in food quality. Despite these weaknesses, positive comments highlight the improvements in the food court over time, particularly in terms of halal options and a desert shop that customers enjoy.

Lots of outlets many big name brands. Very busy and not easy to find a table and queues at all stands. But service was quick and you just need to keep looking for a table as there is a huge throughput of people.
Some great places to eat but don't expect to find a table very easily on busy days.
The shared trays aren't cleaned properly either, the cleaners use the same cloths as they use on bins to wipe the trays down with, so I'd advise asking your food "to go" so you don't have to deal with them.
Good selection of food in here. The place is always clean and tidy however I think there are too many of the cleaners on shift at any given time here as they are always stood around chatting whenever I have a trip to Merry Hill. The one older gentleman who cleans the toilet too could do with working on the amount of noise he makes cleaning. He scared my half to death slamming down all the toilet lids and throwing things about. Overall a good place to grab food from when on a shopping trip though!
Food great, but trying to find seating on a weekend is Impossible, especially if you have a toddler with you
Went to gdk in merry Hill. Over priced and hair in my good. I would never eat there again. When I complained they tried to pull the hair our and serve me the same food. ????
A very English version of Asian food. Pretty bland and the salt and chili options were certainly not fried in crispy batter. The duck pancakes were awful. The curry sauce wasn't bad though, and you get plenty for your money.
I have been visiting this place since its established and at the start it was not as good. There were some halal food but they were close straight away.
Now there are three halal places. And food is amazing. Little desert shop is absolutely my go to everytime I visit. Hubsta likes their milkshakes, waffles and I like their cakes better.
Nice cosy little place this eat central is and cleaners are always on the go. You won't see much mess and toilet are right next to it. Another plus when you're with little ones. X
Good range of food choices. Always clean and tidy
