Quick Facts About Market Harborough
Market Harborough is a town that has both strengths and weaknesses. One of the strengths mentioned by a commenter is that the town is clean and well presented. This is important as it creates a positive impression for visitors and residents alike. The town's beautiful high street with its many little independent shops is also mentioned, which adds to its charm and uniqueness. Another strength is the friendliness and courtesy of the people. This creates a welcoming atmosphere and makes visitors feel comfortable.
The town's historic buildings are also mentioned as a positive aspect. This adds to the town's character and gives it a sense of heritage. The range of good shops is highlighted as well, including both independent and chain stores. This ensures that there is a diverse range of shopping options available to cater to different preferences and needs.
The town is also praised for its Christmas market, which is a popular event for locals and visitors. This shows that the town has a vibrant and festive atmosphere during the holiday season. Another positive aspect mentioned is the presence of pubs, restaurants, shops, and hotels. This indicates that the town has good amenities and infrastructure to cater to the needs of residents and tourists.
However, there are also weaknesses mentioned by commenters. One commenter states that the town is seriously devoid of local produce, meat, cheese, pie, and other locally sourced goods. This indicates that the town is lacking in terms of promoting and supporting local businesses and products. Another weakness mentioned is the fading away of the town's local heart feel. Not been here for about 40 years and not a lot has changed apart from the town being seriously devoid of local produce, meat, cheese, pie and other locally sourced goods
I used to love coming shopping here to pick up all of the above.
The town is clean and well presented and if you like your country designer wear and other top brands you will be well satisfied.
The local heart feel to the place has faded away not to be replaced by charity shops and barbers as most towns do but if you want to be the best dressed supermarket pre packed food eating, range rover driving inhabitant...this town is for you.
Beautiful high Street in town with many little, independent shops. We spent a while there and visited one of its many tearooms. The people are friendly and courteous. The drive on country roads leading to Market Harborough are also beautiful.
A lovely town. Highly recommend to have a look and a walk around the city centre. Tranquil and cosy place with marvellous historic buildings
We've only stopped there briefly but the centre looks nice with a range of good shops.
Lovely place to wander round, lots of independent shops as well as the chains, also several nice charity shops and a walk along the river. Train station not far from the centre, some helpful staff in places like Homebase. Park run is fun on a Saturday at Welland Park. Always like a day out there, something for everyone.
We go here every year for start of Christmas meal with family and take in the Christmas market. Absolutely love it here. Plenty of everything you need. Pubs, restaurants, shops & hotels. Lovely place
The town centre road needs to be closed off to cars and allow buses, taxies and delivery vehicles only. The road is always congested and polluted.
However, the town centre has a lot of attractive historic buildings.
The market place café's food is bland and not good for dieters.
It's your pretty average market town, lots of charity shops, hairdressers and estate agents. The indoor market is worth visiting, especially on a Sunday, breakfasts are good in the cafe there too. If you're looking for a good selection of clothes shops at normal prices, then don't come here.
