I asked for a low taper and texture/layers on the top. The taper was decent but the top was not good. She did not give me texture or layers and I had some before. All she did was remove my layers then actually layering it. The front of my hair is naturally bangs now and I use to have a middle part but now I can’t because it is too short. She only cut with scissors sideways and did not add texturize it so I look like the dwarf with bangs from the incredibles. They do a good job with adults and older people but for younger people and teens they don’t do that the best.
I first came to this establishment in 2017 when I first moved to LA from NYC. I was skeptical of ever letting a women touch my hair ???? and then I met Carmen. Carmen is one of the best barbers I have ever had touch my hair. Carmen plays the best music. It’s not all hip hop like the rest of the barbershops I have gone to. She has so much character and has a great business running. 5 years later and I’ve moved further and further away from her business and still make the trip to support her.
Day day is a really good barber and very professional gets me in and out really quick having an appointment does help but overall great experience definitely recommend Day Day at Empire Barbers

After my barber had worked for about 20m he asked me where I was from and then charged me 40$.

I met Gabby three years ago when I first moved to LA and I lucked up and was able to get her for a walk-in appointment. Literally was the best haircut I ever had and have been going to her ever since. She is passionate about her craft and takes her job seriously. The level of focus she has while cutting your hair is top tier. Even though she is focused while cutting she still offers great conversation as well. Five stars isn't enough for Gabby, honestly an all around good person and barber, I definitely recommend her for a cut if you're ever in the area!
