Quick Facts About Fancy Nails
Fancy Nails Strengths:
1. Skilled and talented nail technicians: Many customers appreciate the quality of work done by the nail technicians, especially mentioning Vivian as being particularly amazing. This indicates that the salon has employees with the necessary skills and expertise to provide satisfying nail services.
2. Positive customer experiences: Overall, the positive comments reveal that many customers love the outcome of their nail services. This suggests that the salon generally delivers good results and meets the expectations of its customers.
3. Walk-ins accepted: Customers mention that it is easier to walk into the salon rather than make an appointment. This flexibility in scheduling allows the salon to cater to a broader range of customers who may prefer spontaneity and convenience.
Fancy Nails Weaknesses:
1. Inconsistent customer service: Several negative comments mention rude behavior and poor customer service experienced at Fancy Nails. One customer even had her nail ripped and started bleeding, but received an unsympathetic response from the technician. These incidents reflect inconsistency in how customers are treated, which can lead to a negative overall experience.
2. Long wait times and busy periods: Multiple customers mention that the salon gets very busy towards the end of the week, resulting in long wait times even for those who have appointments. This suggests that the salon may struggle with managing the influx of customers during peak periods, leading to dissatisfaction and frustration.
3. Poor salon hygiene: Complaints about the smell of chemicals and the appearance of the salon's interior indicate a lack of cleanliness and sanitation. This can be a significant concern for customers who expect a clean and hygienic environment while receiving nail services.
4. Pricing issues: Some customers felt they were overcharged or misled about the total cost. Complaints about additional charges for design without prior notification indicate a lack of transparency in pricing. This can lead to customer dissatisfaction and a loss of trust in the salon.
5. Inconsistent appointment management: Multiple customers mention that making an appointment does not guarantee a timely service. The salon owner is described as rushing and handling multiple clients simultaneously, resulting in delays and potentially compromised service quality. This inconsistency in appointment management can lead to frustration among customers who expect their appointments to be honored and their time to be valued.
In conclusion, Fancy Nails has strengths in terms of skilled technicians and positive customer experiences. However, there are several weaknesses that need to be addressed, such as inconsistent customer service, long wait times, poor salon hygiene, pricing issues, and inconsistent appointment management. Addressing these weaknesses can help the salon improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Best TL Reviews
Always love how my nails come out here! Vivian is amazing. I’ve gone here so many times and absolutely love it every time! They do get very busy towards the end of the week. Appointments - don’t even bother, it’s easier to walk in.
I NEVER write negative reviews, but unfortunately after this experience I had to write one. I had gone here two weeks ago to get a fill and a polish and my nails came out great. Despite having an appointment and still waiting 45 minutes to be seen. This morning, I went in to get my hard gel and tips removed, and then to get a gel manicure on my natural nails, that had grown a great deal. The woman preceded to take a fake nail while my nails were dry and RIP the gel and tips off my nails. I said ouch and she gave me attitude. I just sat there and let her remove and noticed my nail was bleeding.... I pointed it out and just told her I only wanted to remove and not get gel anymore since my nails were all ripped up and one was bleeding. I hate complaining so I just paid the $15 removal fee and left since I knew nothing should go on them to avoid infection. I will not be returning. I then got an influx of messages from other people who had similar experiences here with them being rude, leaving them bleeding, and poor sanitation. Disappointed.... Left with ripped up and bleeding nails.
i went here just for a basic manicure and the girl did my nails very fast and was pretty rude. she let me leave while my nails were still wet and a day later they are already messed up and chipping like crazy. rude lady i’m not going back here. don’t go here if you want a relaxing inviting and worth your money experience
This place is a complete dump, run by crooks. When you enter the salon, you’re greeted by the overwhelming stench of acetone and other chemicals. They advertise a good price for waxing then only do half your leg… stay away!
The inside is disgusting. The quality I received tonight was awful. I have been there once before tonight and have to say there is a Spanish woman that does pedicures that I can not say good enough things about she is very sweet and does a wonderful job. With that said I don’t write negative reviews I prefer to just never go back but this experience deserves a warning. I used to go to the fancy nails in Waterbury and the one on Thomaston Ave. and no complaints. Tonight in Torrington I was charged $156 for two basic pedicures, one gel manicure and one dip manicure. The girl doing my gel manicure was clearly new and my nails and pedicure came out awful. My daughter got hers done for homecoming and they are crooked and missing the dip powder on the sides. I paid with my debit card and then saw the sign taped on the glass tips in cash so I said I would get cash from atm. I got cash from the atm and then was told it would be a week or so until my card was refunded. in addition I was charged $10 for tax when I questioned the tax I was told “that’s my state”. I tipped 20% regardless of the fact that our nails look awful because that’s the kind of person I am. I did tell the owner I was unhappy with the quality of our nails privately and she told me “ you asked for a service and you got it”
I’ve been getting my nails done every week and a half since I was 13 and I’m now 34 this is the worst experience I have had in 21 years.
I’ve been coming to fancy nails with my grandma for 5 years now. At first they were great but lately I have not been happy with them. I make an appointment and I’m there for 3 almost 4 hours. The service is horrible. The pedicures I’ve gotten didn’t last at all and they barely scrub your feet. And when I get my acrylics filled, I have to wait about 20-30 minutes in between each step while they walk off and do other people who don’t have an appointment and have me waiting forever. One time they messed up my polish and I said they did and the guy just walked away and ignored me. Also they tell me how much my total is then when I end up paying, it’s like $15 more than what was owed. I do not recommend fancy nails at all anymore. Not a good place. There’s so many other nail places just on east Main Street better than this salon. You would think coming for 5 years they would treat their customers with care…
“manager” was extremely rude and uncommunicative, and charged $15 for each design (one was a french tip) with out telling me first. My nails came out flat out horrible. But the lady who did the design had a good steady hand and the lines are straight.
Although my nails usually come out pretty good, Don’t bother making an appointment, you will still be there for 2+ hours. Every time I make an appt with the owner she’s doing multiple peoples nails at once and is rushing.
