Quick Facts About Foodtown Supermarket Davie
Foodtown Supermarket Davie has several strengths that make it a popular destination for food enthusiasts and individuals looking for a diverse selection of international ingredients. One of the biggest strengths is the wide variety of products from different regions around the world. Customers appreciate the careful organization and separation of products from Asia, Africa, Europe, South and Central America, ensuring that they can find whatever they need for their cooking needs. This vast variety of products makes Foodtown Supermarket Davie a go-to place for those looking to explore cuisines from different cultures and create unique dishes in their own kitchens.
Another strength of Foodtown Supermarket Davie is its fresh produce department. Many customers praise the amazing quality and variety of fruits and vegetables available. The supermarket takes pride in offering fresh produce, which is a crucial factor for those who value the quality of ingredients in their cooking. Additionally, the seafood department is highly regarded, with customers appreciating the availability of exotic options such as eels, crabs, lobsters, and frogs depending on the season. This unique selection makes it a must-visit for visitors to the area and adds to the overall appeal of the supermarket.
Furthermore, Foodtown Supermarket Davie is known for being a reliable source for halal meat and chicken. Customers who follow halal dietary restrictions appreciate the availability of these products in the store. This is a significant strength as it caters to a specific market and attracts a loyal customer base. However, it should be noted that there are some concerns about an irritating smell in the store, which can be a potential weakness. Although the store offers a diverse selection of products, the smell may deter some customers from fully enjoying their shopping experience.
In terms of weaknesses, cleanliness is an aspect that could be improved upon. While some customers find the supermarket to be satisfactory in terms of cleanliness, others believe that there is room for improvement. One customer mentioned finding a snail in one of the red Thai chili packets and handed it to a cashier to be discarded. Instances like these can be off-putting for customers and highlight the need for better quality control and attention to cleanliness.
There have also been concerns raised about discrepancies in weight measurements when purchasing seafood. A customer reported that the tilapia fish they bought weighed less when measured at the store's weight machine for groceries compared to when it was measured at the counter. This led to a discrepancy in the amount paid at the checkout. While it's uncertain if this is an isolated incident or a recurring problem, it raises questions about the accuracy and consistency of weight measurements in the store. This can potentially impact customer trust and satisfaction.
Lastly, some customers have commented on the smell in the seafood section. While the variety of fish may be a strength, the strange smell that engulfs the entire building can be a potential drawback. This smell may discourage some customers from frequenting the seafood section or even the entire supermarket.
In summary, Foodtown Supermarket Davie has several strengths that make it a popular choice for those looking for a diverse selection of international ingredients and fresh produce. Its strong points include a wide variety of products from different regions, a fresh produce department, and a selection of halal meat and chicken. However, there are areas that could be improved, such as cleanliness, consistency in weight measurements, and addressing the lingering smell in the seafood section. Despite these weaknesses, Foodtown Supermarket Davie remains a favorite among customers who value the unique offerings and authentic ingredients available.

Since 2011 I’ve been a fan of this supermarket! You can find whatever comes to your mind when it’s time to cook. Products from Asia, Africa, Europe, South and Central America, all separated very carefully. The produce department is amazing, very fresh and a huge variety of fruits and vegetables, Seafood department amazing, there’s even an eels tank, crabs, and depending on the season even lobsters and frogs, it’s mandatory visit when friends come to town!! Don’t miss it. If you like to cook and create in your kitchen you have to go there!!
Hi I love this place, best for halal meat and chicken. But the smell is so irritating. Well this is the wonderfull store you will everything here. Fruits are expensive compared to vegetables. you will find frogs turtle and squids.
I go there once every two weeks. Mostly food-town is alright but they could be better in terms of cleanliness. Today I saw a snail in one of the red Thai chili packets they have and handed it to one of the cashiers to discard the packet. I hope they did. Another experience is that I bought telapia fish from their live seafood section a couple weeks ago and when I measured it in one of their weight machines for groceries and it came out less. I asked the cashier to measure one the counter and it was in fact less. They at first tried to convince me that since it was cleaned the weight decreased but why should I pay for garbage. Like intestines and scales. They kept like 12$ less from me at the check out after I argued. I wonder if they do the same with other customers and making huge profit off of it. Not saying they are bad it’s just that some things could be improved. I guess managers are abit laid back.
Authentic ingredients and brands from almost everywhere in the world! Definitely worth the trip plus if there mushroom options are almost endless!
My favorite international market! I get most of my Asian spices and vegetables here. I especially love their bakery items! Sponge cupcake, rice cakes, stuffed bao buns, and mango sago drink ???????????????? I wish there was a store in Miami and Ocala Florida.
The selection of this place still baffles me. It has a diverse selection of food from Asia and other parts of the world. One of the best places to get fish in the area. Even though it stinks, it's a really great store if you want to get imported food, with a low price as well.
Diverse food market with variety of stuff from all over the world, including meat and seafood. They have reasonably priced halal options, but some local products are cheaper at Publix or Walmart. Their seafood section has strange smell, which engulfs whole building, so be prepared when you enter.
Best selection of vegetables and fresh fish in town, they have 2 separate butcher shops, normal and Jalal.
Prices on grocery are not the best
Smell needs improvement but fast!
