Quick Facts About Gentlemen's Choice
Gentlemen's Choice is a popular barbershop with both positive and negative reviews. In order to thoroughly analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the establishment, it is important to consider the different aspects that customers have commented on.
One recurring issue mentioned in the comments is the difficulty in scheduling appointments. Some customers reported that they had difficulty getting in touch with the barbershop to make an appointment, while others mentioned that the website had conflicting information about their operating hours. This inconsistency and lack of responsiveness can be seen as a weakness of the establishment, as it may turn away potential customers who prefer to make appointments in advance.
Another weakness highlighted by a few customers is the attitude and professionalism of some of the barbers. One commenter mentioned that they felt disrespected by a barber who gave them attitude and did not finish the job properly. Additionally, another customer mentioned that a different barber refused to honor a military discount. These instances can be seen as weaknesses, as they reflect poor customer service and lack of respect for customers' preferences and identities.
However, it is important to note that there were also positive comments about the friendly and skilled staff at Gentlemen's Choice. Several customers mentioned that they had been going to the barbershop for many years and had always received great haircuts. They appreciated the pleasant atmosphere and the staff's willingness to ensure customer satisfaction. This positive feedback indicates a strength of the establishment in terms of the quality of their services and the loyalty of their long-term customers.
Another strength mentioned by a few customers is the affordability of Gentlemen's Choice. They appreciated the low prices and the discounts offered, such as senior discounts and weekday specials. This affordability may attract price-conscious customers and set the barbershop apart from higher-priced competitors in the area.
The social aspect of the barbershop was also highlighted as a strength. One customer mentioned that the staff and customers were friendly and talkative, creating a welcoming and interactive environment. This sense of community and camaraderie may be appealing to customers who value a more personable and engaging experience.
In terms of potential areas for improvement, some customers mentioned that they were dissatisfied with their haircut due to specific stylistic choices made by the barber. For example, one customer mentioned that their "hard line fade" was wider than desired. This shows that there may be room for improvement in terms of communication and consultation between the barber and the customer to ensure that the desired hairstyle is achieved.
Lastly, the fact that Gentlemen's Choice only accepts cash was mentioned as a weakness by one customer. In today's digital era, many customers prefer the convenience of paying with a card and may see the cash-only policy as an inconvenience.
In conclusion, Gentlemen's Choice has both strengths and weaknesses. The positive aspects include the long-standing history of customer satisfaction, the affordability, and the friendly and skilled staff. On the other hand, the weaknesses include difficulties in scheduling appointments, instances of unprofessional behavior from some barbers, and the cash-only payment policy. By addressing these weaknesses and building upon their strengths, Gentlemen's Choice can continue to attract and retain loyal customers.
Best TL Reviews
I called to see if we could walk in or had to make an appointment, no one answered. My husband brought our son over. Someone answered the door and told him he needs to make an appointment ????. Really you're right there you can't make an appointment. We called and imagine that no one answered. Ileft a message 4 days later someone returns our call to schedule an appointment. Thanks but no thanks. Great way to get free bad publicity. I guess they have never heard word of mouth can be the best advertising in this case the worst. ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Web site says opens 10am on Sunday has two different names -no thank you won’t be back
The guy at the far barber chair finished my hair and gave me attitude because I have a few straglers. Quote "I went over the top 3 times". He would rather send someone out with a bad hair cut than finish the job. The guy next to him cut my son's hair and would not honor my military discount. It's a dollar dude, not a big deal. You heard how disrespectful your coworker was and still proceed to be unprofessional. Maybe it was because my son has darker skin than mine? You be the judge. I never give bad reviews; thank you guys for being my first. I only went here because Powell's Barber Shop, the guy across the street, was closed for helping out with the hurricane. Next time I will wait for my hair cut because Powell's Barber Shop are always professional and kind.
Today was my third time visiting this place. Each time I've had a different barber. First Lori, then Myrna, and today a guy who's name I didn't get. My first two haircuts were terrific. This one, not so much. I got a "hard line fade" and the "line" was more like a landing strip. It's as wide as a pinky. Who does that?? Why would my barber think it was even remotely a good idea to start so wide instead of thin then asking my opinion? To top it off, it cost me an extra dollar for the line which makes no logical sense at all. He should've paid ME for this mistake, not charged me more. If I hadn't received great cuts from Lori and Myrna I would probably never return here again. The fact that the owner was there today and didn't care the slightest bit about my concern or giving me a discount also bothers me. Between this experience and the fact that they only accept cash (food trucks and flea market vendors even take cards now) is why I give a three-star rating. Hopefully today's poor experience was just a fluke. I'll give them another chance.
I have been going to Gentleman's Choice for over 15 years now and have never had a bad cut. I have been bringing my 12 year old son with me for as long as he's been able to get his hair cut. The staff is always pleasant to us, going out of their way to make sure we are satisfied before leaving the chair.
I have read the other reviews and am surprised that anyone would have had a bad experience there, though I think I can imagine who the barber at the time may have been, and he is no longer there.
The previous owner, John, when available, gave excellent cuts, but when he was backed up I never shied away from having any of the ladies cut my hair, and I am far from senior citizen status.
Even since the new owner Kim took over, I still get the same great cut at the same great price with the same great atmosphere. I definitely recommend them for anyone needing a quick cut while in town, or someone local looking for a new, permanent barber.
I have been going here for more than 20 years. Despite changing owners three times the barbers/ stylists are friendly and do a great job. They have always kept prices low and offer discount for seniors...cheaper weekdays than weekends by a couple dollars.
New to area and needed to find a new barber. I went off the already great reviews and couldn't be happier. What fantastic, friendly, and skilled people!!! Besides the great haircut I would go back to just sit and talk with the ladies. Don't waste your time and money anywhere else, go to gentlemens choice. Low cost, skilled, and fun. I got a trim on my long hair, and my friend got a more "barber" styled cut. Both turned out great. Thanks ladies!
Just moved all the way from Pennsylvania to Florida. Only been in Melbourne for about two weeks and scoured every local Barber and Hair Salons' reviews. Gentleman's Choice was the only place that didn't have an excessive amount of bad reviews, and the few that were you could tell would never be happy with anything. Called them up for an appointment at their earliest for myself and a friend, and boom. Told us we could come in right away and I have to say it was one of the best experiences getting my hair cut I've ever had. When they say it's a family experience it's not just your family but theirs as well. Everyone inside was talkative, customers and staff alike, and they never allowed a dull, silent moment like most other places. I honestly felt like i could just sit on the couch and talk to them all day, maybe even pay too. Kim was excellent, I gave my opinion on what I wanted and away she went. I asked for her proffesional opinon as we went but she never did anything without asking and always valued my opinion as a customer above all else. Between what I walked in expecting and her expertise I walked out with the best cut I've ever had. The only dissapointing part was Google not allowing me to give them anything over 5 stars.
